Northern Beaches Watercolour Painting Classes

Just started watercolor course Level1 as a 100% beginner. It is informative, deep in basic and learn with own pace. I am mesmerized by euphoric tone of colors created by right choice of paint, paper and brush. I highly recommend Jenney Gilcrhist's Watercolor classes!

Learning online has the benefit of fitting in around your life and you can watch the videos over and over again. You do lose out a teacher watching over you, but this course goes a long way to addressing that because Jenny provides detailed feedback on your paintings. The feedback is prompt and helpful. Many of the exercises are a total joy and even in Level 1 I produced some pieces I was happy to hang on the wall. If you look at the course photos you will be surprised that you will be able to paint those lovely pictures but you can! Jenny is particularly good at guiding you to invest in materials that will see you go far and to avoid wasting your money on things you don't need.

I would strongly recommend this course to anyone who wants to understand the watercolour medium and develop sound skills. I started at Level 1 even though I had a bit of experience in painting with watercolour and found that Jenny's graded approach certainly gave me what I needed. Jenny gives you thoughtful feedback and support all the way through the course and the fact that you can do it at your own pace is a bonus. I've just finished Level 4 and am looking forward to applying all that I have learnt to my own paintings.

I'm absolutely loving the detailed demo's, tips and insights Jenny provides in her awesome online courses. The exercises are fun, inspirational and really set up the student for success. I'm so glad I took the plunge as I have a clear pathway for developing my watercolour painting skills and gain valuable feedback from Jenny to keep me focused on improving my problem areas. I'm already starting to see huge improvements in my holiday watercolour sketching practice and have a much better understanding of everything from which paper, brush, tone, perspective, colour and composition. These courses have the foundational depth I've been searching for. All in the convenience of an excellent online format. Thanks Jenny for such an excellent learning resource!

This course is fantastic! I recently finished the foundation course and am definitely going on to do level 2. It took me several months to finish the course, not because there’s anything wrong with it, but because Jenny inspired me so much that I kept on going off on tangents and producing other stuff, such as 70 odd Christmas cards, greeting cards for every event needed, portraits and more. Jenny’s carefully constructed course equipped me with all the basic skills to have a go on my own. The course is carefully and methodically structured and presented in an easily accessible way. Personal feedback was encouraging and clear and instilled in me the confidence to keep going. I’ve still got loads to learn and am confident that the next levels of this course will help me even more on my way. Highly recommended.

I took up watercolour painting at the beginning of the year with Jenny and I can't believe how far my skills have come. I love painting and while not as good as Jenny's, I am really pleased with them. While I thought I would not like online as much as F2F I have found online is so much better because I can watch the demo's over and over again, but with Jenny's course I also get feedback on all my class paintings. Best of both worlds!
