North Head reviews
21This used to be amazing. Now most of the coastal walk has been eliminated and where you can walk is so far recessed you may as well be looking from Manly beach. Which bright spark made this happen? Glad I saw it a few years ago. Left disgusted with how it is now
Moderate walk along the coast and bush land full of native flowers including flannel flowers. Walk from Manly wharf via Shelley Beach to Fairfax lookout, north Head walk.
There are many walking tracks that are mostly sealed and lined with guard rails. There's plenty of parking which you have to pay for. It's also a wise idea to place No Ding Car Door Protectors on your car to prevent car door dents as the car spots are a bit tight. It was also quite crowded full of mostly tourists. But on a great sunny day, it's great for pictures.yes, its a picturesque place to experience.
Beautiful view was nice and warm with a slight breeze couldn’t pick a better day to go even got to see whales!
Beautiful new lookouts with stunning views over the ocean and harbour.
The $5 per vehicle charge is s bargain
Remember this is a National Park so dogs are not permitted to be with you even if they remain in the car.
Also Northern Beaches Council parking stickers do not apply here.
A place where you can enjoy a desert-like atmosphere and a beautiful port at the same time!
They've done a fantastic job of rehabilitation after the RFS pyros burnt everything to a crisp. There's still quite a lot of work in progress, but nature has to do its bit. The built structures are amazing: the lookouts are designed beautifully, and the path is great. Don't forget to pay for parking: this is a National Park, not a council carpark, and parking fees go towards Park maintenance.
Highly recommended for out of town visitors and locals alike.
Spectacular new, improved walkway (1km loop). Parking easily accessible (especially for those that need easy access via wheelchair, walker, stroller)
No toilets
Absolutely spectacular views of the natural landscape and city, 360 degrees in most aspects.
Excellent harbour and coastal views from this spot. Especially sunset over the harbour.
This is also one of the best locations to watch the start of the Sydney to Hobart yacht race on boxing day.
Came across this place in Spit Bridge to Manly walk. Beautiful view, even better than the ones I saw in Bondi - Coogee. Luckily it was a sunny day and when you just stand at the edge of the cliff, it is amazing
Sacred to the first inhabitants of Australia the beautiful Bush walks are full of history and the scenery is breathtaking.
There are several lookouts here. We enjoyed the view from Fairfax lookout the most. The short walk track was also great. It was very toddler friendly. The view of CBD is astonishing from one of the lookouts. We are also able to watch whale from Fairfax lookout since it was end of July.
Amazing park with amazing history, although the artiliary museum is no longer at this location it still has plenty to offer, tours of the old gunner tunnels are held every Sunday all year and also during Saturday's in the warmer months, yours of the third quarintine cemetary are available to groups upon request and this is just the military side, there's also the quarentine station which holds ghost tours and has a resteraunt and Caffe on site, non of this is to mention the breathtaking beauty of the seaside cliffs and the calm secculsion of being away from civilization. In short this is a must visit location for anyone who loves nature photography, landscape photography or history
P.s. Don't try to climb the old brick walls, they're topped with broken glass
A short ride up from manly beach, this place offers a good vantage point to see the city. It was cold and the wind was strong when I rode up here in my motorcycle.
Amazing place, cheap parking, though one of the parking machines was out of order and we wasted a bit of time finding the other
Very clean and very good ~ very suitable for walking, to the lake is not far 5 minutes to walk ~ ~ ~ people do not have a small beach. But really comfortable feeling, at night to see the night scene is very Beauty~ can go there to relax
Beutiful, scenic and simply refreshing.
Great walk along the water, beach and cliffs, offering stunning views of Sydney Harbour bridge and Sydney CBD.
I've been going there for yrs, love the place with great views of the harbour and city. Only disappointing thing is that they now have gates on the rd in and close it off way to early. Used to be able to stay there all night.
A national park on the edge of one of the most spectacular harbours in the world. Marked tracks, lookouts, and adjacent to the old North Head barracks precinct. Lots of history, artist residences and more. Also includes the historic Q Station.
Awsome never wanted to leave to come back too reality staff was very friendly made me feal like at home.wish the staff good luck?
