NOMAD reviews
81Have been wanting to eat here some time, and boy did it not disappoint. Service and staff are exceptional along with the food. It is Australian cuisine done very well. We loved everything and for a vegetarian there was lots of delicious options. Quality and potion of food is very reasonable for a nice meal.
One of the best restaurant experiences in a long time. Everything was amazing… ambient, staff and the food! We started with the split pea hummus with bread which was absolutely delicious. Next we had the lamb shoulder, a beetroot salad and a baby cos salad… and wow… it couldn’t get any better.
First time there and it already skyrocketed to the top of our restaurant preference list.
Congrats to all the team!
Took my niece here for her birthday - she LOVED it. She appreciated their approach to making her feel extra special too - with their lovely card. Thank you!
Our waiter was super lovely & so knowledgeable. And the food did not disappoint. LATE EDIT:
We started with the raw Kingfish - texture, taste, colour, & coriander cracker were all so good. Zucchini Flowers were yum. We were so taken with all the vegetable dishes, we almost skipped the meat, but came to our senses & chose the lamb. SO happy we didn’t miss that one! So tender, & the sweet & sour currants with yogurt were perfect with it. It was a lot of meat for 2 but we ate it ALL Shaved Cabbage & Sour Cherries were delicious - I wanted more… The literal icing on the cake was the signature Olive oil ice cream sandwich. Absolutely adore this one - & it was the perfect slice of Birthday cake for Maddie - she was in heaven
This is by far my favourite restaurant in Sydney. Great atmosphere, amazing food and always impeccable service. Strongly recommended!
My partner and I had the best experience at Nomad, Sydney. The smoked sardines & hash brown was out of this world! Thanks to Ella who served us and gave us warm service. We will definitely come back.
I don’t how can some one rate this restaurant any thing less than 5 stars. Every dish we had yesterday was special. Highly highly recommended
Celebrated my birthday at NOMAD last month. My partner picked NOMAD as it was featured in an earlier episode of Masterchef and he decided it’s the perfect place, given my love for the show. Each dish on the menu was a work of art, transporting us into our own episode of MasterChef. We got the set menu, and some of the favourites include the zucchini flowers, oysters, and the kingfish rillette. The olive oil ice cream sandwich was an absolute delight as well as their rhubarb dessert!
Every dish is incredibly delicious! I especially adore the raw kingfish, and adding avocado takes the taste to a whole new level.
Whenever we have a table reservation here, it’s always packed! But the servers and the chefs really does an amazing job managing the floor and the kitchen. Francesco would almost always be our server and he is the best at giving recommendations and ideas on what to expect on the dishes. He explains them well and u will always see him hustling on the floor, too!
Their pavlova- so light and not too sweet! Such a balance.
The kingfish is one of our faves! It never fails. To add to the list of our favorites, the eggplant dip with that soft and homemade bread is amazing!
The other dishes are quite unique too and worth trying!
By far the best non-fine-dining Australian restaurant I have ever visited. A well all-rounder restaurant for most occasions or if you just want a nice dinner. Reasonably price for how good everything is.
I didn’t get a photo of the Wood fired flatbread, but I can assure you it is the BEST wood fire flat bread you will ever taste. If I was to go back it’ll be because of that! The ribeye was full of fat and tasted ok. King fish ceviche and sweet yet savoury zucchini flowers were really nice. The famous olive oil ice cream sandwich was good as everyone said it will be! There’s a deep fried fish ball - don’t get it, not tasty and it has a very fishy flavour.

Customer service wasn’t good at all from when we walked in. Firstly, upon entry, 2 people standing behind the tablet/ipads (saw us and continued writing stuff) didn’t greet us we waited approx. 5 mins in front of them before someone acknowledged us. Secondly, a waitress literally stood behind us until we finished our food to take our plates, she then asked us to put the 1 oyster on another plate (not seafood) so she can clear the table and we had enough room for more food. However, 1 waitress (wasn’t our waitress but helped us with some enquiries, curly red hair) was super friendly and easy going and made up for it.
Awesome vibe, fitout and set up. Amazingly fresh produce with delightful options to pick from. Wine list + sommelier provided great choice and guidance. Service was also bang on!
If you're after a semi-casual yet upmarket dining experience, I'd highly recommend Nomad!
We dined here on a busy Saturday night and service was second to none as they had plenty of staff available. I mean A LOT. Our waitress and the sommelier were super friendly and informative. The only thing I would point out are that the food runners would explain each dish super quickly and rushed. I couldn't really catch a word they were saying.
All in all, wonderful experience! My highlight was the fresh bread and burrata (I think). I'll definitely come back whenever they refresh their banquet.
Everyone in Nomad was super friendly. The food was delicious. The bartender gave us a good recommendation on the wine menu. We have a lovely dinner, super recommended.
Great food, atmosphere and the team are just amazing. Pls make sure to check it out, once restrictions are lifted. Can't wait to go back
We were there tonight have been before but felt so rushed kept telling us you only have till 7.30 you had better order. Food ok loved watching ladies behind counter preparing food. I did not feel relaxed at all so noisy. Food was so so wines not wonderful don’t think I would rush back.
Bread was the standout for me, so was the olive oil ice cream and the watermelon sorbet.rest was fairly standard, wasn't super wowed despite the high price tag.check out my food instagram @erinxeats for more!
My partner and I booked the kitchen table and had the best dining experience. Our server Kai was wonderful and attentive. He took the time to explain each dish on the menu to us which made placing the order a lot easier. The food arrived in a timely manner and was absolutely delicious. The flavours were unique and the portion were a suitable size. A special shout out to Lakhan in the kitchen who made some of the best desserts that we have ever tested. I highly recommend this restaurant if what you are looking for is a dining adventure.
Shared a beautiful meal here with some family. We had a wholesome meal, full of flavour, freshness, and a variety of foods. Everything was tasty, and hit the spot. Service was grand, with many recommendations provided, and the cocktails were perfect. Highly recommend trying this place out. Ambience of the restaurant is gorgeous.
Lockdown has meant that we are not able to dine in such a wonderful restaurant. However, they have started doing take home packs that are incredible. Every day on instagram you can see what menu they have in store, then preorder and pickup.
You receive a pack with entree, mains and dessert and you can purchase additional food and pre-made cocktails. Love this and would highly recommend it to make lockdown nights extra special. Bought this for my wife's birthday and she really enjoyed it, we even had leftovers for lunch the next day.
