No.14 Lovel St Hostel Guesthouse

Fantastic place to stay. We booked for 2 nights and ended up extending for another 2 nights as we loved it so much. It truly is a home from home. Super cosy and comfortable, lovely staff and guests there. Definitely attracts a very chill mature in spirit vibe of travelers. The common areas were very spacious and the kitchen was well stocked.
The only note I'd give to the lovely owner (Annette) is that the upstairs rooms could do with air conditioning units as it got very warm in the rooms at night, even with the windows open and the fan on.

Couldn't take pictures of the kitchen or living room as they were occupied. Pictures are of the double room and the library which is at the bottom of the stairs.

A beautiful home away from home in the Blue Mountains. Situated a very short walk from Katoomba Station and the ammenities in town this cosy place to stay is perfect in every way. After a long day hiking, it was so lovely to come back and recharge by chilling in the communal areas after cooking a meal in the well stocked kitchen. I met so many like-minded travellers here and had such a good time so I have already booked my return!

Great place to stay, has everything you need and really well maintained. Definitely recommend and can’t wait to return!

The best hostel we’ve ever stayed in! It felt like home as soon as we walked in. Such a social cute vibe, we made so many friends here!
It’s not party vibes, it’s chats over a bottle of wine at the farmhouse table, cosy book reads by the fire and sipping coffee on the terrace.
Annette is a fountain of knowledge (a whole book in fact!) so don’t be afraid to ask for local recommendations.
We had a double room upstairs and it was so clean and comfortable with a gorgeous view, just perfection.
The Blue Mountains is stunning and a massive highlight of our round the world trip. Katoomba is a great town to be in for transport links and of course if you make a new friend in the hostel they might give you a lift…

Annette is an absolute Angel. Her energy is warm and welcoming and she is a wealth of knowledge about the Blue Mountains.

No. 14 Lovel St is located just down the road from where i live, in fact actually people mistake my house as the guesthouse and often knock on my door, walk down my hallway and sometimes through my backyard into my kitchen, this has been happening since we moved in 6-7? Years ago, almost weekly.me and my housemates are always guessing is this someone we know or a weary traveler lost on there way

ether way please don't fret we are very friendly and will direct you to the guesthouse just remember this is our home not the guest house please leave after you realize lol or double check!

I loved my stay here at 14lovel! Got a warm welcome! Guests are all nice and good combination between some private rooms and 2 small dorms! Everything was clean and organized! Proper kitchen with good equipments! Nice veranda to chill and enjoy of the sun! I am glad that I stayed here!

Awesome stay, super cosy and warm atmosphere, most comfortable bed ive slept in for a long time Anette (manager I think) is super kind and helpful. Also love the free cereal breakfast thing Keep it up guys! Ur legends!

A home away from home indeed! Very cozy room and comfortable bed. Had almost everything you need and could think of: Clean bathrooms with hot water, well equipped kitchen with fridge space for all, laundry facilities, a living area, outdoor/garden area and free parking at the roadside. Location was great - many eateries in Katoomba and Leura. Thank you Annette and Gavin for building such a fantastic, amazing place.we looked forward to coming back each day after exploring the Blue Mountains

I stayed in this lovely place for 2 nights. Nice and tidy kitchen, clean bathroom, comfy wooden bed, great location, and heaps of books near dining area. I could enjoy my trip in Katoomba while I was staying in No. 14 Lovel St.

Very cozy, small and warm place up in the Blue Mountains. Location is close to Katoomba center (approx. 10mins walk). The rooms, the common area, and the bathrooms were lovely decorated. The beds and the thick blankets made us sleep very well. I personally loved the small "fire place" in the common area. The owner gave us many tips and recommendations. The only thing which made us a little uncomfortable was when she told us to leave on our last day after we checked out. We were sitting in the common area and she literally said "I need you guys to leave, we need the house back" at 12pm so one hour after we checked out. We've never experienced that before in another hostel, usually we were always welcome to stay in the common area. There were no other guest either. But apart from that it was a really nice stay.

Had a wonderful stay at 14 Lovel Street. Will definitely stay again. Annette was a fantastic host and facilities were perfect. The free earplugs were a welcome bonus that I wasn’t expecting.

Great stay with a warm and friendly host. Room was very comfortable and well decorated. Nice and close to town and walking tracks. Would highly recommend.

Annette has been exceptionally accommodating and has gone above and beyond for myself and my friends. This is a very special trip for us and Annette has made 14 feel like coming home.

Lovely place with nice rooms, close to the centre and the viewpoints, clean bathroom and the staff is lovely, definitely recommand!

I had an absolutely excellent stay! The room was huge, thoughtfully decorated, and the bed super comfortable. Annette was a great and welcoming host, and had plenty of local tips. The little porch out front was perfect for coffee and a great spot to watch the sun rise. Everything was clean, the kitchen had everything you could need, and there were eco touches everywhere to boot. The location was also excellent and I could walk to town in a few minutes or even to the start of the walking trails. I really couldn't fault my stay at all and will absolutely be staying again - I didn't allow anywhere near enough time in Katoomba. Absolutely recommend staying here!

Great location, very friendly and helpful staff.
All facilities supplied and a lovely balcony to watch the sunrise, ships coming and going, trains, lights of the town, everything. I sat there for hours.

Best hostel I’ve ever stayed in. Very cozy, friendly staff, great book selection and cereal and alternative milks provided. Would have stayed much longer if I had the time.

Just an amazing place in the heart of Katoomba! Very good location. This place is nice and cosy, with the whole Blue Mountains style. Anete, the owner is very friendly and lovely. 100% sure that I will come back soon for another weekend!
