This company deserves -5
Useless company.
Order 3 things from their website.
Was told 2 of the things were not available, and money was refunded for those 2 things
No contact was every received from the company about the refund. Only from PayPal.
The one thing that was still on order (has never been received it being 4 weeks since I ordered it.
No contact from the useless company has ever been made to let me know what is happening.
I’m wondering how this business is surviving with such poor service.
I contacted them 3 days prior to posting this to cancel my order.
The incompetent staff member. Told me she would cancel the order.
This useless staff member said this would happen the next day. It never happened. I had to again reach out to them again for the 4th time to cancel the order and requested their manager to contact me.
DONT OFFER ON-LINE SERVICE IF YOU CANNOT FULFILL YOUR ORDER
Get someone to update your products on your website when you don’t have the product available.

NEWTOWN ART SUPPLIES - PHONEY AS A THREE DOLLAR NOTE! This was a while ago, but it's the same story as the other one star folks. Order online, no stock! After several unanswered emails I rang them, the pleasant girl I spoke to, asked if I would like to be put nearer the top of the refund list, as it was fairly long. Funny now. Not funny then! NAS also claimed, on more than one occasion they had already refunded me but I given them the wrong bank details (paid via PayPal).
Funny now. Not funny then! It was referred to PayPal, and they again claimed I had been refunded.
PayPal eventually came through and I can laugh about it now. At the time however it was no laughing matter. LIES, DECEIT and MORE LIES. This company really is a piece of work!
Interesting thing though, the instore reviews are generally good, the online reviews are somewhat different. Jekyll and Hyde Art Supplies.
If you are looking to buy online, AVOID THIS COMPANY, LIKE THE PLAGUE!

Bizarrely always out of stock. This art shop never has any supplies available. After returning on and off for over a year, I’m always told they’re low on stock yet they never get replenished.
Empty shelves.
Kind of like an art supply shop in the Soviet Union. Go to anywhere else for your art supplies.

Got a voucher for this store for my birthday. I went in to use it, and they said I can only use it online (even though when buying a voucher it doesn't say anywhere that it's online only - I checked). Their online stock is seriously limited to what you can buy in store. I can't even get A2 watercolour paper!? !? Website is a mess to navigate to buy anything. So disappointed, particularly because this was suppose to be a fun birthday gift that has turned into a chore to try and spend. Don't waste your time. There is a great art shop in Newtown on King street - go there instead.

The girl who helped me had no knowledge whatsoever of their products and was pretty sarcastic.
Her: this paint is flow and this one is structure
Me: what does that mean?
Her: well, one is for flow and one is for structure.

I will never use their online service again. Beware! Items online are not necessarily in stock. They will take your order and your money but the company hasn't got the professional attitude or decency to refund your money within a decent time frame. The staff is rude and unhelpful thru out the process. After 2 phone calls the refund still has not been processed and I might have to contact consumer affairs.

I should have read the reviews. Online ordering is rubbish whether its delivery or in store pick up. Selling stock they do not have.

I have been buying there all my art supplies and it happened one of the pencils turned out to be cracked inside. The only thing I can do with it is to chuck it. I went there with a proof of purchase hoping I could exchange the broke pencil to a new one. The answer was a NO. The lady behind the counter said ‘You could drop it and it cracked’. I mean so professional suggesting it’s my fault and that I came there to take advantage of poor business with one pencil. Btw, whoever is reading this, while I was choosing my colours a couple of days ago in your shop, your employee dropped some while doing a count. A really ‘great’ experience.

Do not ever order online from these guys. Absolute shockers. Rarely anything advertised on the site is in stock. They will not answer the phone and in the lucky case someone does. They will not call you back when they say they will. Kadmium is the sister store, apparently it is worse. Just stay away.

I will never order or buy anything from this store ever again. Lack of communication and super slow reply to emails as I had to sent 3 emails. I finally got a reply after telling them that I'm ready to escalate the issue involving PayPal They said the item is delayed because of lockdown but lockdown shouldn't affect their ability to send a simple email saying that they have already sent the item and here is a tracking number so you can check. I have received other art supplies from another store in Sydney without much delay so yeah, covid is an excuse. Meanwhile, I'm still waiting to get my order AVOID this store unless you can wait forever.

Terrible service, took a week to post and forever to reply to emails. Been almost 2 weeks waiting now for an express post item. The covid excuse is old i have sent a dozen items since i placed my order to sydeny and Melbourne all of which arrived with no issues

This is the worst customer service ever. Stay away! They take your money and take months to get the product. Apparently my parcel is lost by Australian Post, but the tracking number provided does not even work. I will never use this company again.

Outstanding art supply store, with an eye-popping range of colour and texture in every imaginable hue. I was so impressed that they not only had gold powder in a variety of shades, but the sales assistant knew exactly where to direct me

A bit on the pricey side… but prices are similar to if I purchased online and paid for express postage.
Staff are very knowledgeable and helpful.
Would’ve liked to see a bigger range of watercolours other than Windsor & Newton Cottman

The staff called me within one day and switched out my paints with better paints for the same price. I received the paints cheaper than most other places and within 3 days. Very good staff.

The only thing that isn't good about this place is how awkward the counter is, but it's mildly uncomfortable for a total of 2 minutes so I feel we can all move past that to see what a treasuretrove of art supplies this is.

Very disappointed. I placed an order with them or an item listed in stock; after 2 weeks I rang them to ask about why it hadn't shipped. I was told that it was out of stock.

I requested an order cancellation and a refund. 2 weeks later, I receive an email to say the product had now shipped - I'd purchased elsewhere in the meantime.

Very poor communication an approach.
