This person did not make me feel safe when I was asked to join sessions with my abusive ex-husband. After doing some research, she seems to be very biased on traditional Christian values of valuing the man more than the woman and prioritizing the hurt of the perpetrator if they want redemption. I was told that because my ex-husband was depressed at the time of saying to me multiple times "if you leave me, I will kill myself" that it's not considered controlling and manipulative. My other psychologist disagrees with that and I feel it's a very harmful thing to say, to excuse the treatment of someone because the perpetrator has mental health issues. I will not be returning as these sessions were of no help and were harmful to my mental health.
