Newcastle Theatre Company reviews
29Last week I attended a production of 'Don't Mention Casablanca' at the Newcastle Theatre Company. It was my first visit to this theatre. I was very impressed with the physical design of the theatre (great sight lines from the audience and the theatre's general comfort was appreciated), being able to buy a glass of wine from the snack bar and - of course - the play's excellent production and the professionalism of the actors. Brava! Brava! Brava! Here is a wonderful small theatre providing a quality play at a very reasonable price. I couldn't have been happier with my evening at the Theatre and will be taking out a 2024 subscription. Well done to all!
We went to see Don't Mention Casablanca and loved it. Some swearing to portray the cad - Mike Curtiz. Acting was terrific and the cast had accents to get into character. After the show the Q & A was a wonderful bonus to understand more. Thank you, thank you NTC.
Great Theatre in this lovely suburb of Newcastle. A lot of great shows are on here every season!
Lively wee theatre, friendly hosts and very enjoyable productions.highly recommended and affordable.
Fantastic community theatre situated in the perfectly area of New Lambton. Always showing incredible shows with talented and astonishing actors and crew.
The best theatrical experience. Superb professional quality productions with an intimate atmosphere. Easy access and parking with reasonable seat pricing, a must for any theatre goer.
It's so good to see that this place is still around, if you want something different then go to the theatre! It was a last minute decision to go but the play was so funny, being this close to the stage made it so good.
They have a bar and loads of parking which is great. Totally recommend for a good night out.
How the actors remember all their lines is beyond me, and they do it so well.
Wyrd sisters. Very small theatre providing an unpretentious experience.loved the play. Plenty parking across road if get there early and maybe trot up the road and have meal at hotel prior to performance.
From start to finish this was a lovely evening. The ambience before and during the intermission was lovely and the cast were clearly having a great time which you can’t help but be buoyed up by.
Went to see Wyrd Sisters here.
It's a nice small theatre. Seats are comfortable. Front of house looks like it has been recently redecorated.
And it looks like they support a lot of am dram.
Car park conveniently on other side of the road.
Don't be put off because it is tucked away on a quiet street.
The theatre cancelled a show. I had booked and payed for tickets. There was no email sent or phone call made to tell us the show had been cancelled. Only found out from a message on one of the actors Facebook page.
Tried ringing to get a refund and there was a recorded message saying the show was cancelled but no information on how to get a refund. Told that no one will be there till the 12th January. Dug around website to find an email address. Found one. Sent an email. No reply.
This is very unprofessional behaviour from a theatre company and I will be hesitant about booking any further shows. Not good enough Newcastle Theatre
Love NTC! Such a beautiful little community theatre. It's always so lovely to see how involved everyone gets and the passion they put into their productions
My husband and I attended Glorious at today’s matinee. This is the third performance we’ve attended and we already have our seats booked for the next play.
Today’s performance was nothing short of brilliant! Florence’s singing was absolutely diabolical and she played the part so well. Despite the fact that she was a stand in, the actor owned the role. Every cast member was excellent and we both left the theatre feeling wonderful. Thank you so much for a great experience.
Great location, plenty of parking, seats were comfortable and the bar service was excellent. Can't wait to go back!
Fantastic volunteer-run theatre. Recently improved refurbishment and seating. Great atmosphere, enthusiastic volunteers and troupe.
Tibooburra on Friday night kept us smiling all the way down memory lane with great cast, band and production. Thank you NTC
Great show by local actors.
The renovations have made this place a great venue.
The staff are friendly and keep it clean
New improved theatre & stage, and a good fun short play "The Fix".
Next play coming soon, don't miss it.
Fabulous Arthur Miller play - A View from the Bridge - great acting and tension throughout. Exciting to see such high quality live theatre.
Cosy theatre with superb atmosphere, they even provide little blankets to keep you warm should you wish!
