New Sound Church Office reviews
14My husband and I were looking for a church that fit us and from the first time we walked through the doors over 2 years ago it right away felt like home for us. We have grown so much in our faith, knowledge amd relationship with the Lord and look forward to more. More of the word, more encounters with the holy spirit, more! What's even better is everything is Scripture based and biblical. I encourage anyone reading to come and experience it for yourself.
My grandfather, Alf Edwards, and my brother, Peter Edwards, turned the sod for the new church on the corner of Stanley and Leonard Streets, Bankstown.
My grandfather was a deacon, editor of the church newspaper "The Chronicle" and caretaker of Fairhaven Homes, Padstow Heights. He also grew all of the flowers for the church and halls in our backyard in Percy Street, Bankstown
My grandmother, Margaret (Lil) Edwards, was a member of the Ladies Guild and arranged the flowers for the church and halls.
My father, Thomas Edwards, and mother, Elsie Perriotte, were married in the old church, which faces Leonard Street, Bankstown, in 1956.
My brother, Peter (Rev Lockyer) ; my sister, Sharon (Rev Butchard) ; and I, Kerrie (Rev Marks) ; were all dedicated in the old church.
My brother was a member of the Boy's Brigade. My sister and I were in the Cadets, and then the Girl's Brigade.

I was dedicated as an infant in the old Gothic Red brick Church behind and went to Sunday School and the "8th NSW Boys Brigade" here. I was a drummer in the Boys Brigade Band. In the late '60s my father who was a Deacon and Sunday School Superintendant, but also a builder started on construction of the current church building. Here are the pictures of the grand opening of the Bankstown Baptist Church building in July 1967. The Pastor, Rev E. V. Marks and another deacon Mt Taplin officiated at the opening. The last photo is of the Church float being prepared for the Bankstown Easter Show Mardi Gras march circa 1970. From left to right at the float, Ted Higgins, Andrew J Gough and Mr Grigg.

Incredible church with the most God-filled Pastors. You can truly feel the presence of God in this church and can see His goodness in the people in the church too. What a blessing!
