Could not fault it. The food was superb, especially the green onion pancakes and the dumplings.

Uber eats twice and always gives the wrong item in each order. I order a crisp turnip cake and I get red bean cake instead. Try to call the restaurant, the phone line is always busy or no one picks up.

Sensational food! Authentic Chinese. Well worth the wait here which can be up to an hour at peak times. Dumplings are their signature, made fresh on site. We travel 40mins to have dinner here at least once a month. Everything has so much flavour. They are not the cheapest around but you pay for quality.

Queue outside, empty tables inside and advised that takeaways are prioritised first. When asked to tell manager that those in queue are not happy the lovely gentleman said he can ask female manager but she will reply with "slow it down". Let's say I've never been to a place where there are empty tables a queue outside and takeaway orders are more important. GO FIGURE. Maybe management should rethink their operating procedures. Expect a 40 minute wait outside and then another 30 minute wait inside as they do the takeaways first.
Stop watch 42 mins 35 sec wait outside.
Make sure you grab menu first so you know what to order as soon as you sit down.

First dish 10min not bad

Beware they prioritise delivery services over customers wishing to be seated. As other reviewers have noted many seats are empty but the line is massive. The dumplings have always been pretty decent.

1st visit - 5 stars
Always long queue. Need to go early to get a place. Food is nice. Justify why the long queue.

2nd visit - 1 star
Food is ok, but the service was bad. First dish served, taken and finished. Wait. Finally 2nd dish came, taken very slowly waiting for the 3rd dish to come, until we were extremely frustrated. 45 mins (since we ordered), 3rd dish was still nowhere. Eventually cancelled and left. Overly disappointed.

Really generous portions. My favorites are the shepherds purse and pork dumplings in sesame, peanut and chilli and the XO sauce fried rice. The famous pan-fried soup dumplings I wanted to love but the filling just didn’t hit the spot for me. It’s all pretty tasty, nonetheless and the broad menu will have something for everyone!

I had read some really positive reviews and saw a large number of people waiting outside, having high hopes it would be good. But really, it was below average. Upon seating and waiting outside for a considerable amount of time we ordered some fried rice as we were starving whilst we looked at the rest of the menu. Some of the wait staff were lovely but not only 5 minutes after ordering a young man waiter came around (around 8pm) asking for last orders from us although there was still a large crowd of couples and families waiting outside to be seated. I still didn't mind, understanding that they were busy, but 45 minutes later it seemed that others were allowed to order and we weren't allowed to? Even the drinks menu was taken off us as the waiter called last orders. Food was really ordinary though, especially the fried rice that came out blonde, overcooked and bairly warm after waiting an hour and the stir fried clams with xo was gritty with sand, seemed like they forgot to clean them ahead of cooking. Multiple tables that were seated after us were served food and other dishes ahead of us aswell. To top it off, the waiter reached over us whilst eating to collect the spy sauce and vinegar bottles to top up, then proceeded to slam them on the other side of the table whilst in the middle of a conversation and eating. Would not go near this place at all and for the price, wouldn't waste the money here either.

Service is great and good is overall good. Dumplings are amazing but the pork ribs were really dry.

Very comfy seating, their xiao long bao’s always on point - absolutely delicious morsels. Lots of other shanghainese dishes to choose from - always well executed. Great for couples or groups as there’s always something to satisfy all. There’s good reason for their lines on pretty much all nights. BYO wine or beer value @ $3pp.

Top quality dumplings for very reasonable prices. One of the best dumpling spots in Ashfield. There are to choose from!

Low-quality food and distracted staff. Ordered some pan fried crab & pork dumplings. Other tables arriving after us got their pan fried dumplings first - staff likely forgot about our order. Dumplings had crab cartilage and shells in them, and had a tiny amount of crab meat, do not worth the extra cost.

My favourite dish here is the bean sprouts shoots. I always order this every time I come here. The xiao long baos are a hit! I tried something different the prawn fried dumplings (the bottoms seemed a bit soggy). There can be a wait so best to come around 5: 30pm before peak dinner time.

The restaurant is so busy with take out that they take ages to serve customers in the restaurant.

Beef fried rice portion might be a bit small, fried dumplings and xiaolongbao were all great

Food amazing and loved every bite. Our go to is lamb dumpling and stir fried noodles. Tried salt n pepper tofu.nice

Possibly the best congee I've ever had, and the siu long bao was excellent, nice thick dough.

Pretty bad experience. We arrived here quite early at 5: 30. No reception or staff at the front. There is a queue outside so we just took a number. There are plenty of empty tables inside, but no staff is coming out to call customers in. Other people are saying the same thing, don’t know why they don’t bring customers in.

Staff are very busy, it’s quite difficult to get a staff and apparently they are short. Service level is not there.

Service is really bad and will not come back again.
