Nelson Bay Golf Club

Going to be honest here, used to come with the family all the time and food was fairly priced for its quality, unfortunately dined recently and they have gone up across the board, I'm sorry but $33 for a chicken palmy or fish n chips as a member is ridiculous. Good to see that one of the directors is able to afford a McLaren GTS, while the rest of us struggle to pay for dinner.

Restaurant staff were obnoxious, other staff were excellent, above and beyond what I would think was expected of them.

Always enjoy myself at Nelson Bay Golf club. Great staff, great restaurant and beautiful surrounds! Recently enjoyed a kangaroo tour which was highly enjoyable, cruising through the golf course and viewing the eastern grey kangaroos with lots of joeys! Our guide was amazing. HIGHLY RECOMMEND A VISIT ️

Always good here, always feel like i’m the youngest in the room cause only old people go here. The food is good but menu hasn’t changed in like… 6 years, but specials are always great!

From the moment we entered the door until we left, the staff made us feel uncomfortable, my daughter was asked for ID 3 times even though she was 18 and not drinking and she was also accompanied by her parents, the old bloke at the bar kept looking at us like we had two heads.the restaurant gave our table away even though we booked 24 hrs in advance we did not get to eat there, i do not think they appreciate any visitors they seem to only cater for their golf members and locals.

Staff were accomodating and friendly. The meals were great quality and cooked well. I had a scotch medium, perfect. Kids play area so the little one found friends to play with and we were able to enjoy a meal and drinks.

We paid full price to play this course, apparently a 'bargain' because they were mid week prices. When we got to the back 18, the fairways were covered in clumps of dirt. Got even better on the 12th, tractor was churning up the entire fairway. Most other areas substandard and where there was grass there was poor cover. Voiced our displeasure on return to the pro shop. They said you could have preferred lies (nowhere to relocate your ball) and we had the discounted mid week rate! Pay an extra $5 and play at Horizon up the road. A far superior experience. I have played many golf courses in my time and the country paddocks were more enjoyable than Nelson Bay. We were NOT warned about any coring before we started. When a course carries out coring it usually isn't so bad that there is nowhere to place the ball.

Great golf course, with challenging holes. Carts were well equipped however the satellite navigation with its access restrictions controls were not always accurate. Sometimes when you are on defined pathways you are stopped and need to reverse in order to reset controls to be able to move forwards again.

A big thank you to the cafe/restaurant at Nelson Bay Golf Club. My children both have anaphylaxis and eating out is often difficult and disappointing. I discussed my children’s allergies with the staff, who were more than happy to listen and ensure everything was safe for them. It is lovely to know that the staff there take allergies seriously and are very accommodating. I had two very happy boys who were not only able to eat dinner safely, but dessert also! Thank you!

I've been visiting Port Stephens for almost 40 years now and ever since I started playing golf I've loved this course.

The 27 hole golf course is excellent and the club house offers amazing views over the course with excellent food.

Went there for dinner tonight food is 5 star rating didn't have to wait long until our meal was ready the kitchen staff were fantastic and or floor staff were very friendly and very helpful but remember this is only my opinion my wife and I had a great experience there

Our Daughter Nicole was married at the golfclub on Thursday 17th March 2022.
From the very first meeting with Seva (hope I spelt it right) it was all about making Nicole and Corey's wedding day the best it could be and it was.
We cannot thank Seva enough. We would also like to say thankyou to the bar staff and admin staff. The caterers, as the food was exceptional.
Definitely recommend your facility for any function. Thankyou Michael and Karen Holden

A golf course of 27 holes making 3 different courses, the course is in excellent condition and a large section of members were on a working bee, this happens twice a week

Played 18 holes here and found it a very nice course. Grounds were well maintained. Lots of native wildlife around like kangaroos. Very nice club house too for a beer or two after.

Dined here twice, both times enjoyed my meal. Both times eaten fish.sadly both times, for my partner each time they got his meal wrong

We had 24 of us come here to play golf and stay next door at the Landmark accommodation.
From the great condition of the golf course (especially considering all the rain that we've had) to the quality and service of food, wait staff, pro shop staff and facilities, we couldn't have been happier with everything. We had presentation dinner out in a private deck and the location and food were awesome. We were very well looked after with our own wait staff too which was a nice touch.

We would definitely come back here to play golf, or even just come for the food at the club.

Great view, food not bad but need to extend menu. No burgers, No pizzas etc in the evening. If you like chicken a dream. Decent bar too.but don't clear ashtrays in the smoking area at 9pm if open till 11pm. Bloody STOOPID

Love love love this place, the food was exceptional, staff wonderful. It really is a great place to have lunch overlooking the beautiful golf course, or dinner. Would highly recommend.

Nice layout, alot of work being carried out. Golf cart travel restricted and at times confusing. Some holes crossover and the golf cart gps stuffs up and you have trouble changing the display for distances and direction.

I would’ve gone for a third time if I’d stayed few more days, absolutely the best place for a romantic luxurious place, immaculate food and lovely staff.
