We used Neilly Davies Consulting Engineers to do structural inspections and provide a report when renovating our home in Northern Sydney. The structural engineers were a lifesaver and saved us so much time and cost by holding our trades to task to make sure the job was done properly (we removed walls, made new openings for doors and put in new bathroom floors). Save yourself the headache, go somewhere (anywhere) else!

Unfortunately we engaged Neilly Davies for a flood study for a bridge for our DA. The report was illegible and littered with inaccuracies, so much so we had to terminate and seek emergency consultant services elsewhere - which has ended up being a headache and costly.

The report was so poorly presented and done, we had no confidence that the data they were using for modelling would be correct and since engaging another party, it appears our fears were right.

Not only is the owner, Bala, refusing to refund us for our initial 40% payment - over $2k - he is trying to make us pay the full amount for the report. I don't like leaving bad reviews but the company is unfortunately refusing to resolve this fairly.

Like the reviewer before me, I am under the impression that they are subcontracting work to engineering students - perhaps abroad as they seem to have no local knowledge - including up to date knowledge of local DCPs, standards and resources. We're suspicious that the qualifications and size of the company as presented on their website is not truly representative of Neilly Davies and will be making a complaint with consumer affairs and Engineering Australia.

The owner is claiming a fully qualified engineer put it together however it looked very unprofessional and illegible. If they were practicing in good faith, they would acknowledge that the report issued was subpar and refund our money as we requested.

Like the reviewer before, we are also suspicious of paid/fake reviews.

I engaged Neilly Davies to provide structural inspections for the construction of my house. It's been a great experience to work with Dr Bala. He is very professional, communicates well with my builder and is patient to explain when I have questions about the structural design. Most importantly, he does not rush at inspections and checks all structural elements thoroughly. It gives me peace of mind that Dr Bala always acts in my best interest and ensures that my long term family home is built structurally sound.

This is a very professional team saved my project when it is stuck in the middle of DA assessment. It would be a much better experience if I have worked with them at the beginning. Highly recommended.
