I would have given 5 stars, but they charge 1.25% credit card fees. Absolutely ridiculous when you are ordering $1000s of dollars worth of tiles.

Probably should have read the reviews here before ordering. High level summary: horrible ordering experience and ineptly maintained bordering on misleading website.

The first issue with my order was that, despite the website clearly stating the product was in stock after I selected my store for pickup, after I purchased the tiles I recieved an email stating that the tiles had to be transferred from another store and the ETA was 8-10 weeks. If I had known about the lead time I probably owuld have ordered elsewhere.

The second issue is that when i got the notification that the tiles were available and, despite the website clearly stating that the Alexandria store allows order collection on Saturdays, apparently this is only possible if I called ahead on a week day to have my order prepared for collection. Completely baffling and the (pleasant and well meaning) staff member assisting me this morning acknowledged that this was an ongoing issue which had caused frustration for staff and previous requests had been made to head office to make the website clearer.

This is an ineptly run business with a flashy, but inaccurate website, and staff that are well menaing and apologetic but ultimately completely unempowered to fix problems for customers and provide an acceptable retail experience.

I won't be back and my recommendation to you is that if you are considering ordering from National Tiles, look into other options if you would like avoid disappointment, frustration and wasted time.

Great service and range of tiles. Good advice on products including a whole range of grouts, adhesives etc. Would highly recommend, they know what they're talking about!

Alexandria store looks good but agree with other comments here that their customer service and experience with products etc is sorely lacking. I would very much hesitate to purchase from them given the high likelyhood of them giving me the runaround for stock and deliveries etc. Also, very little documentation available on displayed products.

Bad experience from start to finish from Alexandria store.
Staff are slow, inexperienced and lack knowledge with customer service and computer use.
Delivery: waited all day for delivery, finally tiles delivered at 6.30 pm and boxes were damaged and loose.
Refunds: Slow in processing refunds. Still waiting for refund for returned over bought tiles. We took them to Alexander store, two weeks ago. I’ll never buy tiles from them again!

Purchased ‘Byron Marquinia matt 195x195’ floor tiles from the ‘premium range’, $145/sq m. Love the tile design, however you can imagine our disbelief when our tiler advised us that these tiles have been cut from a larger tile and therefore are not rectified! The edges of these tiles are also quite sharp. I would not have expected this from such an expensive tiles & would have expected the staff at the showroom to advise.
Also bought much cheaper wall tiles (also from National Tiles) which paradoxically turned out much better.

Please do not buy tiles cause their price is expensive also if u make a mistake measure wrong missing tiles they never have anything instock for u to get back up everything need order and wait 2 weeks at leaSt. Its happen to me i missing 1 box i try to reorder then i wait for more than a month no one even call me they lost my order also

Disappointing if I'm being honest. Ads suggested it was the best tile shop in the world, and that the Alexandria store was the biggest one yet, though the store space was big, there were a very limited amount of tiles. Almost like finding a needle in a haystack. Such a big space gone to waste.

Stay away unless you love drama
Not a review I would like to leave but a warning for people to save themselves from being in a situation like ours. My designer recommended this store and ordered floor tiles for our washroom renovation.

ISSUE: After the tiles were installed, I realised they are of different shades that was visible after the grouting.

CAUSE: National tiles did not have tiles from one batch and they send tiles from two different batches with different shades. How unprofessional.

RESOLUTION: They have agreed to send replacement tiles as per their sweet time which will take 3-4 weeks as per their last communication

CHALLENGE: The whole floor has to be taken up, water proofing will be damaged and they have not yet agreed to send their tiler to fix a mess that they created.

RECOMMENDATION: My two cents of customer service -Issues do happen, but when they happen, the causing party should own it and get it resolved URGENTLY and own the damage, peace of mind and financial implication to the client.

CONCLUSION: Unless you want drama, stay away.

Unreliable, promised delivery twice, even got a text to say the tiles are on the truck, still no show. Happy to ask for full payment though. Full of excuses. I have no confidence in them at all.

Experience in-store was great. Friendly and helpful staff with a wide range of products. However, the follow up experience has been terrible. We were looking to the timber flooring and needed a measure and quote. Followed up twice and nearly two weeks passed before anyone contacted us about organising a time. Then day of the measure no one showed up. Called customer service three times and was told that the person who was supposed to come measure our space was on leave and there wasn’t anyone available. Waste of time and better off going elsewhere.

Went to this place last Saturday to buy tiles for 3 bathrooms, kitchen and a hallway. Spent 1.5hrs in the shop without one person coming up to see if we needed assistance. The only interaction we had with the staff was when they told us to get off their ladders as we were reaching for tiles on the high section. (They didn’t even offer to get the tiles for us!) anyway we walked out and went up the road to tile mega mart where we got great assistance and were out of there within the hour. They can gladly have my $30k

This was my first and last experience with National Tiles. It took a few visits to the store to be able to get staff to provide any service. They were helpful when they realised I was ready to purchase.
I ordered tiles that were in stock in their interstate warehouse and I was advised there was a two week wait to get them delivered.
I followed up two weeks later when I had not heard anything, and was told one of the items was still being shipped from overseas. There was no explanation given as to why the product was not ordered from the interstate warehouse.
I made several calls, each time getting different responses to when I could expect to see the tiles I was waiting on. I quickly realised that my building project would be held up by months if I waited for National Tiles to deliver a product I had paid for.
I then waited almost three weeks for the refund to be processed.
The only thing they did right was waiving the delivery fee on the tiles that were in stock.
National Tiles need to train their staff so they are able to assist customers when problems arise. While they are friendly, they are incapable of solving simple problems or providing answers to simple questions.
Very frustrating they are spending so much money on advertising they have plenty of stock (not true in my case) instead of investing in staff training.

Went to National Tiles Alexandria on Saturday afternoon specifically to get 3 Matt Black Tile Wastes as my tiler needed them urgently and they offered a "Price Match" on their website. I hadn't read all the "fine print" yet I managed to find a Sydney store charging 50%less per item. Although the items looked the same they weren't the same brand, so they wouldn't match. I said no problems so then found another store (located in Melbourne with the exact brand) yet as that store didn't deliver to Sydney, National Tiles wouldn't match the price.

The lady serving me was really trying to help (which I openly acknowledged) yet needed to speak to her manager (who didn't seem to understand customer service).

My wife & daughter joined me asking the manager if we were in their Melbourne store would they match price to the Melbourne based store with a materially lower price and was told they would.

So why not match the competitors price in Sydney? That's not our policy. Sorry.

Given I needed the 3 floor wastes urgently on Saturday & had travelled an hour to get to their store, I paid close to double the price of other stores. I politely informed the manager I would email their head office to share my experience & to see if head office would extend their price Match Policy to my situation. 2-3 weeks later I have not received acknowledgement of my email & therefore no response.

Despite the Sydney store looking fantastic, based on my experience, I could not recommend.

Ironically the manager told me the price the other store was offering (on the exactly the same product) was below their purchase price (which I'm unsure if that influenced their willingness to match price) to which reaponded that seems like an internal procurement issue and not something you'd normally share with a customer

Was in the store for close to 1 hr and not a single acknowledgement let alone any service. The only time someone came up to us was to tell us they were closing in 4 minutes, didn't even offer to help.

Don't waste your time here unless you already know exactly what you're after.
