Murrumbateman Winery reviews
28Definetely love wines I had tasting here. They have a wide range of tastes of wines, which is a worth to try the full tasting. Highly recommended. If you’re planning to visit here at busy time, the serve of wine would be a bit late, but it is absolutely okay to wait for it savoring the taste and having a cheese plater with wine. I could also find my fav wines from here.
Excellent customer service, and very enjoyable wines. Just tried the whites this time (get onto Mollies.). Next time it will be the reds.
Loved the atmosphere of the building. Thoroughly enjoyed the wine tasting presented by Kay. Learnt so much about the process and the wine. Would love to come back in the winter and sit by the fire enjoying a wine. Absolutely loved the puns on the tshirts. I left with both wine and clothing.
Highly recommend spending a couple of hours here enjoying the scenery, atmosphere and the local produce.
This place has ruined all other fortified wines for me.both are delicious
And the recommended pairing up with desert is spot on.
Went for lunch and wine tasting for our work xmas party and Felicity and the team out there were fantastic. Definitely worth the drive out.
Popped in on a rainy, cold Wednesday. Greeted so warmly!
Wondered if we could get scones and coffee. Scones are usually on a weekend but we were obliged with warm fluffy scones and superb coffee.
Kay and everyone were so delightful and the food was so delicious (especially the scones)! My friend did a wine tasting and it was interesting to hear about all their award winning wines and how they contribute to the RSPCA. I brought my puppy and their dogs played nicely with him too! Great experience.
Loved our morning here! Very dog friendly. Great, knowledgeable wine tasting experience and delicious scones!
It is not the poshest winery, but the hospitality is second to none. The winemaker likes to experiment and it leads to some interesting outcome. They also support the ACT RSPCA, with two friendly canine residents Betty and Mollie who love to greet you.
The best of the best wine tasting in Australia.
A super friendly staff and they explain each and every wine in so much detail.
Their service and hospitality is much applauded.
A must visit for everyone.
We had a fantastic experience here today. Bob was an excellent host and presented the drinks in a very engaging way with a spot on tasting notes. The fortified what was amazing!
Such a lovely experience, the lady who served us spent time talking through the wines. Was such a personal and attentive experience and the wines were my favourite of the wineries I visited! Believe it or not the Chardonnay was delicious! Thank you for your wonderful service and delicious wines!
Absolutely amazing wine! A bit different to your normal wines but all were absolutely fantastic! Lovely staff and wine dogs to greet us too!
My partner and I visited the Murrambateman Winery as part of a Mystery Picnic and this goes without saying, the service and wine could not have been better! My partner doesn't even drink alcohol and yet he still had a wonderful time! Our host had an excellent sense of humour and was so welcoming. And every wine I tasted felt as though it had a story. You could taste the effort that had been poured into complimenting every ingredient. Every bottle was filled with so much creativity and care, it made the experience feel all that more special. I could not have asked for a better place to end our day. We will be back!
Also I highly recommend trying the wines pictured! All very unique and very flavourful
Excellent wine, cute welcoming puppy dogs and your own dogs are welcome! Our dog felt very comfortable and welcome.
Made us wait 40 minutes
Coffee tastes like off milk
Scones that were doughy and not cooked
A dog that kept barking loudly that had no owner but staff did nothing.
It was freezing even with a jacket and they had heaters for outside but didnt use them.
This is the second time within 6 months that I have visited this winery. The first visit was a pre-arranged booking of 9 in our group and there were a number of other bigger groups also engaging in tastings. The service was very slow and largely unprofessional for such a long-standing winery in the community. There were only 2 staff members, that I could see, moving around the groups doing the wine tastings, however this was very slow. I left this winery feeling a little disappointed but put in down to the winery being busier the expected. Recently I visited this winery again, I rang ahead to ensure they were open and that we didnt need a booking. This time we were only a group of 4, however again the service was very disappointing. Again only 2 staff on, it was mid morning and when we arrived there was only 2 other tables already engaged in tasting a couple and another group of 4. We were seated and the tasting of the first wine began, with an extremely long delay between the next wine. A few other groups arrived and started getting served their tasting, these groups that arrived after us were quickly seated and started progressing nicely through their tasting while we still waited for our third wine. I'm sorry guys but you seriously need to work on a better system to keep on top of the groups coming in and ensuring that other arent left waiting while you attend to other groups coming in after the first groups arrive. This was the first winery visit of the day and didnt want to spend all day just at this winery. Murrambateman has many other beautiful and that offer far better service. My advice skip this one.
I have to write this.
Good: The Riesling was nice, brought $130 worth of it. The grass was a nice place to relax.
Bad: Service was slow and disorganised. ALL other wines were not good (in fact, I have never been to a wine cellar door where I didn’t enjoyed the wine)
Feel: it’s as if the accountants have been put in charge of the winery, the tastings were two sips, less if they know your driving. They won’t let you taste the reserve, even if you offered to pay by the glass or extra for the tasting. It looked like the bus load of visitors were bored too.
Improve: Winery, the company should always put its best wine to taste to showcase its product. Hire more staff or be a little more efficient.
What a glorious place to relax and enjoy some quality wine tasting. The Riesling and the Cab Sav Malbec were my favourites. A must tasting for those that love a good wine.
