Ms.Cattea Tea Bar reviews
29Incredible service every time I've been here. Amazing range of teas, served with expert knowledge and advice on tea choice. Absolutely adore the aged Mandarin puer and the an cha dark tea.
My favourite tea bar in the town, with detailed descriptions, wide range of teas from different regions! And great service
Beautiful tea options and relaxing ambience with tiny pots it's an amazing spot for tea lovers, and the staff and owner are quite knowledgeable and helpful an all time favourite
Tea is good. Cathy is very knowledgeable about her products. So many varieties to select from.
The only down side is the price of tea when you have it there, however, it is a niche market so I guess. $20 for a pot of tea is definitely not worth it. Hence the 4 stars.
Fabulous range of teas, incredibly knowledgeable and customised service, great tea cocktails and the best wontons ever!
We came here on international tea day and enjoyed a lovely selection of different teas from around the world. Super premium teas with lovely unique favours.
Such an amazing experience. Had the most beautiful jasmine special tea drink. Lovely welcoming atmosphere.
My experience at Ms Cattea was absolutely exceptional! From the moment I stepped inside, I was transported into a world of tea that exceeded all my expectations. The exquisite array of teas sourced from China was truly a treat for the senses.
Cathy, the owner of Ms Cattea and Lucy impressed me with their extensive knowledge of tea and the mindfulness they brought to the art of tea drinking, particularly the Gong Fu style. Not only did they provide a calming and social atmosphere, but they also educated me about the origins and traditions behind each tea. Every visit was an opportunity to learn something new about tea and connect with the community of tea enthusiasts.
The creativity displayed at Ms Cattea is unparalleled. I was amazed by the quality and flavours of their teas, especially their Lapsang smoky tea infused with the goodness of aged mandarin and dried ginger. It was a unique and delightful blend that I couldn't find anywhere else. Whether you're a connoisseur seeking the most exotic teas or simply looking for the best quality black tea or a unique coconut truffle white tea, Ms Cattea has got you covered.
One thing that particularly stood out to me were their cold brew tea mocktails. They were extraordinary, and I must mention their Jasmine tea mocktail, which was simply divine. The combination of flavours was refreshing and truly a work of art.
Ms Cattea is a haven for tea lovers of all ages. The vibrant and welcoming atmosphere creates the perfect setting to explore the world of tea drinking. The tea lover community here is like no other, and the passion for tea is contagious.
I highly recommend Ms Cattea to anyone who craves the best vibes and wants to embark on a journey to discover the wonders of tea. You won't be disappointed by the remarkable teas, warm ambiance, and the incredible experience that awaits you.
Thank you, Ms Cattea, for creating a tea lover's paradise!
Amazing food, best dumplings in the city hands down. The tea was phenomenal, Cathy the owner took the time to tell us about it and made the whole experience really enjoyable. Highly recommend checking this place out!
Incredible tea spot. The owner is very knowledgeable and friendly and has curated the perfect environment for enjoying tea. Her ethos is to allow people to enjoy tea at any level and encourage any appreciation of tea. I love coming here!
As a tea drinker, l love this little tea bar and l wish there was more of a tea culture in Australia. Tried a few different teas (with multiple brews for the pure non-blended teas) and they are of amazing quality. The food was also delicious, home-made and homestyle cooking. Dumplings were my favourite dish!
Visited twice and the owner and staff are very passionate and knowledgeable about tea. Keen to come back next time I'm in Sydney.
I was not allowed to sit inside the tea bar as I was using my laptop. The owner informed me they have a "no work" environment and I was "very strongly encouraged" not to sit inside with my device. I had been sitting outside and wanted to move, but the owner made it pretty clear I was not welcome to.
While I see the owner's good intentions, she is making some pretty brazen assumptions about her customers. I am sure if I was reading a book or on my phone (both of which can be "work") she would have had no problem with letting me sit inside. Conversely, if I was using my laptop to talk to friends or family overseas, would that be work? According to her, yes. What about a group of people having a business meeting? Again, that's technically work, but I doubt she would exclude them from sitting inside. Work and leisure take many forms these days and it's very arrogant to assume you know what customers are doing and to shame them for minding their own business in your establishment. Where I work, we are proud to provide a calming environment for customers to work if they wish and we are grateful for they business, as they often continue to order things throughout the day.
If the owner is so deeply offended by the sight of a computer, I would strongly recommend she put up a sign which clearly indicates computers are not allowed instead of conning customers into spending $15 on a glass of tea and then telling them they aren't welcome. At the very least the owner could have thanked me for my feedback (which I gave politely) even if she had no intention of changing anything. Instead she told me there are "lots of other places" I can go if I wanted to work on my laptop. What a joke.
There is nowhere better to get tea in Australia. Cathy is a tea scientist and a tea broker. She knows tea, loves tea, and has THE best tea. Ordering online is convenient but nothing better than going in to check the aromas yourself first.
I wish I lived walking distance so I could come here all the time and try all the teas from the extensive menu. Delicious, super friendly and informative service, we had a blast.
A cosy space with great selection of tea for dine in or brew it yourself at home. Recommend to sit at the bar to get a view of how different teas have different methods to bring out its flavour and chat with fellow tea fans.
I went here for the first time last night and absolutely LOVED it. The lady running the place is super attentive and kind, and the chai tea I had was the best I’d had ever, no exaggeration. Highly recommend to anyone!
Great selections of tea and a place to be for all the tea connoisseur. Lovely service by Lucy who carry a huge knowledge on tea.
I’ve heard wonderful stories about this place …. And that I finally experienced it…. Wow wow wow … a must try for anyone who is alive in this world …. Just Wow!
Such a nice and relaxing place to have a cup of tea and a chat. I highly recommend and the owner Cathy is such a lovely person. I will return:)
Never considered myself much of a tea drinker and never knew how sophisticated tea could be. But after I was introduced to Ms. Cattea, I quickly became more interested to experience the many different flavours her teas have to offer. You’ll struggle to find someone else in Australia more passionate and knowledgeable about tea than Cathy. She is always able to find a tea that suits your flavour preference and teach you all about the sophisticated flavour profiles found in these teas, as well as where they are from and how they are cultivated. Personally I highly recommend the chai, Monkey King’s pick green tea and the elegant White Peony.
