The chair is easily accessible from the city centre, located at the eastern end of Mrs Macquarie's Road. The closest car park is located at the Royal Botanic Gardens. Visitors can also take a ferry from Circular Quay to get to the chair. {it’s actually a bench].

Pretty spot looking to the harbour and Fort Denison. Named after pioneer Elizabeth Macquarie, who planned the original Mrs. Macquarie’s Road, by the prominent Governor Lachlan Macquarie. Elizabeth Macquarie, according to folklore, watch watch ships pass by from this spot.

It was a very pleasant morning walk along the coast from the Royal Botanic Gardens to here. Also, the scenery was good for reference. (October 2023)

Amazing views for opera house and harbour bridge. Definitely the best view which shows both together. Pack a picnic and spend your day here. Plenty of trees for shade. Metered parking

Good place to take photos. Lost of tourists at there. The best thing about it is it’s free. Nearby is the art gallery, which is also free.

Awesome place to catch the sunset! We were able to get a great spot with the bridge and the Opera House in view.

We walked through the Botanical Garden to get here, which is a loooong walk but still nice.

Was an okay place. Save your money and go to Bradley park for NYE, the spots weren’t good, they were moving people from the rocks all day and then after 8pm stopped so people ended up with a better spot and blocking the view.
They also had the rule to someone was not allowed to leave once they came into the park which I found to be a bad rule, as we showed up early just to check the area and found out we could not leave.
They did not have much food choices (just 3 trucks)
No kids activities. When advertised online it gave the impression of a sort of street van festival with NYE fireworks.
If you were to come to the area as a normal it’s beautiful and clean.

How do you even rate such an iconic and historic place.everything about it is beyond belief.go there when you have some time at your hand.it's an experience to be enjoyed.you can't go and enjoy this place in a rush.if possible get a beach chair or mat with you.

Missed the sunset because of the clouds, but worth a beautiful view of the harbour, envisioned by Mr. Macquarie.

Mrs Macquarie's Chair is a Sydney landmark. The chair was carved out of a sandstone rock ledge by convicts in 1810. Specially commissioned by Governor Macquarie for his wife Elizabeth who was known to love the area. The area is surrounded by the iconic Sydney harbour and offers unique views. It is one of the best vantage points to view the sights of Sydney Harbour, opera house, and harbour bridge.

Great lookout point especially if you are planning for both harbour bridge and Opera house. A must see to watch the fireworks on NYE if you have booked a ticketed entry for a vintage point over the 31st night show

My local walk. Lots to offer here. Great walk, close to harbour with unparelled views of Sydney's famous landmarks. Close to botanic Gardens, Woolloomooloo, the original Harry Cafe and the Boy Charlton Pool. Close to the city and walking distance to/from most popular attractions. Get there for NYE firework celebrations.

Can see both the Sydney opera house and the harbour bridge from the end. Although a little far away but regardless still a great view.

Beautiful spot but not good for watching the fireworks. To much tree cover gives average views of the bridge and surrounds for the fireworks. Not worth paying money for. Not much choice in food trucks and long lines.

Beautiful area of Sydney to enjoy the best that the harbour provides plus access to the Botanical Gardens an incredibly wonderful combination.

Beautiful place to come. I recommend sitting on the rocks on the northern most part of the Point and (obviously) looking towards the Opera House and Bridge.

Beautiful place to have a romantic dinner and take in the beautiful harbour. Regular place for exercise for many.
