Moonrise Lookout reviews
21All the trees planted have ruined the view when you drive up and park. The second carpark is closed off now too. I remember the first time coming here before the 2000 olympics and the view was breathtaking. It was amazing to just drive up and park and look out over the whole city, 180º.
Great place for a bush walking beginner, lively animals in and
around. If one has a set of binoculars this is a place to explore with it.
Why call something Moonrise Lookout when it is hidden behind a locked gate from 6pm? Stupidity Western Sydney Parklands.
A place to park your car and have a pleasant walk. Part of Western Sydney Parklands a rabbit warren in fact and was used for the equestrian events for the Sydney Olympics
When I first started going there no signs and no designated parking now both in place
Dogs allowed on lead
Beautiful, tranquil and peaceful, you can see the CBD and just make out the harbour bridge in the distance
Good walk in the Western Sydney Parklands. Aside from views of CBD on a clear day, nothing else to write home about.
Incredible even early morning with spectacular views of the city, keep your eyes peeled for Kangaroos. We spotted 28 in totally whilst walking this 7km loop trail
Loved it, the scenery and trip there was great. I would highly recommend it for hikers or bikers!
Very scenic and secluded spot with a view of the Sydney Harbour on a good day. Should have more seats there for the view. Roads are well paved and cycling paths to the location is available.
It's a hard ride to get up there but fun on the way down. The road is a little bumpy though.
Looks very different from back in the 90s when you use to drive in via Saxony Road to the lookout. Great place for a walk which interconnects with Western Sydney Parks nearby such as Lizard Log and the Dairy.
Another parkland with difficult and prolonged accessibility. You must drive all around Horsley Park just to get to lookout and sugarloaf ridge. It's such a long drive. There should be a convenient access from Cowpasture Rd. But the council has locked the gates there for some reason. Really?
Not much of a lookout as it's mostly obscured by trees. No walking trails, you walk on a road so it might be better done on a bike. There were a few wallabies but overall not much to see here.
This would have to be the best view of Sydney, especially as the lights come on. Absolutely spectacular. I'd been here about 25 years ago at night with some friends and because it has all changed I searched and searched trying to find it again. 25 years later I found it and I'll never ever forget how to get here again.the trees could do with a bit of a chop back to clear the view of the city now. Other than that I only hope its left the way it is for future generations to witness.
Love doing my daily walks listening to my music. It feels like your out walking in the countryside.
The view is restricted by trees.walk is a little sleep for kids and there are 3 benches there as well
It is a rather secluded lookout, but it is quiet and peaceful.
You can also see a glimpse of Sydney city view from afar.
You can get a view of the city harbour Bridge and north Sydney
however there are trees that need to be cut or knocked down to increase the view, it would be a much better view if it could happen
Its called moonrise lookout, yet it closes at 5pm, so we can't actually go there to see the moon rising, strange.would be a great place for photographers to shoot the moon with the city on the horizon. PLEASE CONSIDER OPENING THIS 24HRS
