Loved it. What a place and a story. We got to meet Olive and she signed the book my wife bought. We would love to do the full night time guided tours with over night stay that they offer but, unfortunately they are booked out until late May, so if you want to do this book now.
But the homestead and the ground are worth a walk around to take in the story.
Thanks Olive.

Super cool experience! Definitely worth seeing the homestead, even from a historical perspective. We did the night tour, dinner and stay and it was definitely worth it! Would love to go again.

The over night tour is well worth the stories and history Lawrence and Haley have to share with you. Highly recommend.

Unfortunately when we were in Junee we didn’t get to see the homestead as it is only open Friday to Monday and we were here on a Tuesday. Disappointed to miss out on seeing it.

Honestly the owner’s a nut job, just look at the fb page. Not only was $15 a ripoff for a home that has sadly fallen into disrepair, but she also has the audacity to be so aggressive to her customers. I really don’t know why the owners seem to have a chip on their shoulder. It also has many elements that are in poor taste. Overall I wouldn’t recommend coming here, you can tell that the house was great in its heyday, but now it’s just a cash cow (and not a pleasant one at that).

Was looking forward to seeing this grand house and hopefully some ghost activity. Sadly we didn't get any activity and the house and grounds were not what I thought it would be. Everything needed a good clean and dust and the grounds were overgrown. I could imagine how grand this house and grounds would have been in its day. The tour went on far too long and quite a few people left the tour early. The host was very friendly however he needs to take a breath and let the house and its inhabitants speak for themselves. Despite all of this we did have a great time and the others that were staying overnight were great fun.

My mum Rosa and I love exploring anything abandoned or haunted so Monte Cristo was something that had been on our list for a while. We had to book months in advance but the wait was totally worth it.

Firstly, the fact that Olive and Regi had restored this house without any government help or grants and opened this to the public no matter how rude people can be was so heart warming. This house is maintained solely by this family and considering the costs, time and effort involved this was so impressive.

The home was absolutely beautiful, old, historic and freaking haunted.

We were lucky enough to stay the night which started with with a day time walk around the outside of the property, a really nice dinner with our group and our gracious hosts, Lawrence and Hayley, a 2.5 hour tour through the homestead while being taught about the history and the spirit activity, then we finished off with a coffee and a hot apple pie. After this we slept, or shall I say DIDNT SLEEP in bedroom 2 and woke up to a nice breakfast and debrief.

Olive, Lawrence, Hayley and the girls were so friendly, amazing and they went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible.

It was an absolute honour to be able to have a glimpse of such a beautiful property as it was.

Keep up the amazing work! We will definitely be back!

A great experience! Staff were super lovely and helpful- we were given insight into the history of the property and some tips on ghost photography before we went in. Grounds and interior of the property were beautifully maintained- would definitely recommend!

Amazing. Loved the vibe. Loved the energy. Loved chatting to the owners. What a memorable experience. While it may be Australia's most haunted homestead, I felt completely at home playing with the spirits. Saw things move. Saw orbs. Heard voices and my daughter felt her head being touched.maybe it was a spider web. Creepy but fun.

Visited before Reg Ryan's passing and it was amazing, well kept, beautiful gardens, informative tour with Reg telling all the historical stories.
Went again today. And frankly, I would never go back nor recommend it to anyone. Gardens gone to ruin, the whole place was dusty and unkempt, many features such as restored carriages gone, no tour guide to tell the stories, every room either roped off or closed.limited information provided. And it has been transformed to the "Lawrence the Legend Hall of Fame" where this arrogant ego driven man promotes his own pretty limited success as a wannabe Evil Knieval.
Seems it has gone from a loved family establishment to a money grabbing business that offers very little. Our entire party were disappointed.
And definitely not worth 119$ for 8 people (3 kids)
Never again.

My Partner and I opted in for the Tour, Dinner, Bed and Breakfast package. We rung a few months ago to find they had a waiting list of a few months. We were lucky that they had a cancellation as we were able to make it earlier than anticipated. We were greeted by Lawrence, Linda and Olive who all gave a warm welcome and showed us to our rooms. We all came together at 6pm to discuss and have dinner which consisted of entree and mains, which were absolutely beautiful. We made the rookie mistake and had a pub meal for lunch… next time we won’t eat past brunch. They were large meals and very filling (and scrumptious). We then went on the tour and came back for dessert, Tea and coffee after. The tour was not only very informative on the history of the homestead, but also very interesting on a paranormal level. As Lawrence said to our group, he’s not there to scare you.you can make up your own mind. We all had mixed experiences in the house and into the night when we went to bed. Might I add also, if you appreciate a good speaker then Lawrence is your person. He made the tour fantastic. Due to some experiences I chickened out and wanted to leave. Lawrence was incredibly accomodating and offered for us to move rooms which helped the situation. We got up early the next day and were greeted with both a light breakfast if we wished and or a hot home cooked ‘big breakfast’. All in all it was a fantastic night. If you want a real ghost tour then this is the one for you. It was worth every dime.

We stayed over night for the dinner, ghost tour, bed and breakfast package. Right from the start we were made to feel welcome by the staff and the Ryan family who own the homestead.
The food was great, (dinner and breakfast) and the rooms were comfortable, we didn't have any visitors through the night, but another room did.
The ghost tour was fantastic, so many stories of the original family and the Ryan's restoring and growing up in the house, Lawrence has a great sense of humour and is very passionate about his family home, which comes through in some of the stories he tells.
We had a great time, highly recommend the people and the place
