Mjølner reviews
67Came here as a birthday gift from my fiancé - Couldn’t fault it whatsoever! From the lovely staff embodying the Viking character, the 5-star meals and mouthwatering cocktail list. Additionally, receiving a personally signed card from the staff really took the experience above and beyond and made it one that I’ll never forget. We’re getting married later this year and now I’m even considering changing my Buck’s plans to include a night at Mjolnir instead:) Well done team, you put on a fantastic experience!
When we stepped in the place looked good and deco was also good.but then we had some food and it was very average and bland.service charges cost 60 dollars which is too much I think
deco 6/10
experience 7/10
food 2/10
prices 2/10
Ordered oysters/chicken/beef rib on Wednesday night and experienced diarrhoea starting later that night along with muscle soreness that lasted for days. Went to GP on Friday and was diagnosed with food poisoning.
Mjolner was a great spot for my birthday. Looking forward to dining here again with a larger group to have a full feast.
Overall the whole experience was outstanding 10/10, the only negative was paying $220 for the tomahawk was over priced.
Absolutely fabulous experience which had hubby grinning like a Cheshire cat the whole time. Food was super tasty and the whole team really got behind the theme. 11/10 Highly recommend.
Came here for our anniversary. It was such a pleasant experience. We had great staff, the accent was a great touch, ambience was cool and clean. Everyone was nice and helped take photos. Food was great too! Yes, I would recommend this place.
Really delicious food, we had a gorgeous booth in the corner. Loved the bar and their whisky list! Our waitress was clearly very new and knew no answers to our questions and had to run off and ask constantly. It's probably not a great idea for such a busy night. Otherwise, it was a great experience.
I was extremely surprised by this restaurant. There is very little signage that you could almost walk past without knowing it existed, but from the moment you open the doors and step inside you are in for a treat. From the atmosphere and viking decor, through to the food and drinks (mead from a horn!) it's a truly fantastic experience. I loved the welcome drink and being able to choose your own knife. I highly recommend the bone marrow which is followed by fire and whiskey.
Fantastic evening! Amazing food, incredible experience & served by the most spectacular elf, Caillin who was knowledgeable, entertaining & clearly passionate about her job & went out of her way to ensure our experience was memorable. We will be back for more, particularly the highland whisky, the beef short rib & horns!
Terrific experience. Jess took great care of us - we had amazing drinks, food and the atmosphere was truly unique. Looking forward to coming again.
The atmosphere, service and staff were all exceptional! Especially our server Caillin who was absolutely fantastic and enthusiastic for the entire 2 hours we were there, giving us tips on what to eat and how to drink our mead effectively out of the horn without spilling on ourselves. The food was next level amazing and super tasty! Will definitely be back for another viking date night very soon. SKÅL!
Very cool experience and the food was great. Was just a bit shocked we HAD to take part in the pricey group menu because there was 8 in our party. This wasn't explained when we booked.
All I can say is WOAH! Me and my partner came from Adelaide on the long weekend and have been hunting out the best food places in Sydney! Mjolner absolutely delivered with their atmosphere, food, drink and exceptional dining service provided by their top notch staff, ps if you want to experience drinking some of the best IPA I’ve ever had out of a HORN I would book right now!
Huge shout out to the chefs- Bruno, Caillin & Kieran for making the dining and experience of Mjolner worth the trip!
The food was amazing and delicious with good serving sizes, and our server Caillin was fantastic. She is a professional and made the experience even more enjoyable
The restaurant had a great ambience, And the staff were all in the Viking spirit. However, the menu is quite limited.
The themed venue is great and a lovely building. But the service was horrendous. Lovely welcome and then Just disappointment. Long long waits for drinks. Asked for water and waited and asked and waited no no avail. Being told to move along when we were waiting for drinks to be served ordered 39 minutes before. Set menu was not good enough especially seeing the whole place getting the same food which tasted average at best. Save your money and go to your local instead.
Love love love! I adore the theme and wow the food is a must try!
Will be going back until I've tried everything on the menu!
This is a cool restaurant. The entrance is hard to find which I think they do it purposely. From the moment I enter I can tell it’s special. Staffs are very welcoming. The welcome drink is perfect, with a cute cup and the staff explaining story behind it. The shot is perfect not being too sweet with a honey taste. Follow up, they let us choose our knives, special and unique for each knife but not the best to cut. We ordered a few cocktails as well, not too bad, followed the recommendations from staff, they customized for us and surprisingly we like it. Just have a chat with them and they’ll figure out which beer, whiskey, wine or cocktail is the best for you. The roast bone marrow is perfect, with mushrooms in it, tasting like truffle with bone marrow, nothing to complain about it. You can ask for fire on the bone and they’ll pour whiskey on it for you to drink. Finally the mains. Short rib is perfect, nice mustard sauce and very soft taste. Grilled trout is fresh and cooked perfectly with a bit of salt taste. Crispy broccoli is spot on, a little bit too much salt on top, otherwise perfect. The $85 pork we ordered wasn’t as good as we thought. Meat is a bit tender and hard to chew, but the sauce is great. Overall, cool restaurant with nice mood and lighting, unique and entertaining staff. The only thing I’ll complain about is the time, it took them so long to serve us the mains. We entered at 5: 15 and we have a time limit if 2hrs, but the mains only come around 7, which we ate a bit in rush, didn’t fully enjoyed the tastes of the meal.
Thank you for a delicious meal, wonderful ambience and great service. Shout out to Caillin, she was so thoughtful and helpful. The drinks are incredible and crafted with care. If you don't want to miss out: BOOK IN ADVANCE!
