Mincove Homes

If you are thinking of building with Mincove, it is important to be aware of my young family’s experience with them. Mincove recently shut their Goulburn office without warning. We called their office to follow up on our final changes to our ‘dream home’ that we spent several months designing with them and invested financially in with our deposit and were told ‘we are closing and cannot build your home’. We were offered a lot of promises from Mincove- we are a safe and reliable company, we will stick to your budget etc. We now know this is not the case.
Even though Mincove pulled out on us, they are refusing to return our deposit, stating they have given us our plans and reports. We have spoken to other builders who say these plans are well out of our budget (which was discussed with Mincove) and that they will not use their reports for insurance purposes/ will still charge us these reports in their own deposit.
My emails asking for an ethical and empathetic response and our deposit back are now going unanswered so I will be interested to see if I receive a reply here.
It makes me cringe to publicly leave a negative review, but if I was looking into building a home I’d find this information helpful.

Never again. Mincove have been a complete let down, once they have your money they don’t want anything to do with you, our experience with them started fine until they had all the money they needed from us. Our build is so full of sub standard work, eg slab out of level, horrible paint work and plaster work, hollow patches under floating floor, we had a pipe leak under the sink and flood the kitchen, every door handle has come loose and most of them won’t lock properly, toilets leak, missing parts around outside doors, grout falling out of bricks, tile grout missing in the bathroooms, loose bricks under the front door, the towel holder in the bathroom falls off, the list goes on. They’ve told me they’re going to fix all these problems numerous times, but it has now been 10 months. I’ve been through 4 different building supervisors because they can’t seem to hold onto any staff it seems not even they want to work for them. I wish I built with someone else, feel free to contact me to look at our build.

After Mincove smashed the footpath during the build I was told “do you expect me to levitate my machines onto site? ”. No, I expect you to take appropriate care to avoid damages like most others builders; this was just the start it seemed. Issues raised at handover (over 12 months ago) are still yet to be rectified and Mincove has failed to return phone calls and emails after promising replacements had been ordered. We have big gouges through windows, significant damage to guttering, cracked rendering and dodgy screen doors. They seem to go through staff like underwear as most people we dealt with during our build are no longer employed by Mincove. Beware, they are happy to take your money and will ghost you after handover.

The quality of the build is amazing.

Mincove were amazing throughout our build. From the initial meeting to the handover, we can not fault the process. We have been in our house for 2 years now and the experience was a breeze. The team at Mincove really took the stress out of building, and any small hurdles that popped up were overcome with minimal fuss. I can not recommend them enough and will most certainly be using them in any future builds!

These guys have had 3 or 4 jobs on our street in Milton in the past year or so. Their trades are complete cowboys. Rubbish left all over the street. Site fences falling over for weeks on end with no one around. Scaffolding left out on the nature strip where kids play. My neighbours frames stood in the rain for four months gathering black mould then they were just covered up and hidden. Then all the doors were hung with no hardware or roller door on so they would bang in the wind. I ended up putting sand bags in front of them because no one was on site for a month and the site managers are uncontactable. I wouldn’t EVER consider them as an option to build with. What an embarrassment to all good builders and trades out there. FYI i’ve attached a bunch of footage and images to an email sent through to
shoalhaven council, There are your company signs and rubbish currently sitting in the nature reserve/flood way in Corks Hill estate, Milton.

We have had a fantastic experience dealing with Mincove Homes so far, we are only in the beginning of the build process so far about to start the build portion, but so far dealing with anyone at Mincove has been absolutely briliant. From our very very meeting with our Sales Consultant James, what a professional, enjoyable and stress free experience we've had, from the drawing up of plans back and forth with our changes along the way and countless questions we've had during the process, James and the team couldn't have been more helpful and very very responsive with both calls and emails, never felt like I had to chase them up for a reply. Looking forward to beginning the next stage of the build process and wouldn't hesitate to highly recommend James especially and Mincove Homes.

Could not of had a worse building experience. There's a reason people tell you not to build with Mincove, trust it.

I recently had a house built by Mincove. The start was fine except for the salesman ignoring half of what I asked for. The first proposal had the house the wrong way around. After building started they replaced the building manager twice so communication problems continued. After 12 months they got the house built to a reasonable standard but 6 months on I am still waiting for defects to be fixed, many calls have gone unanswered and emails have promised follow-ups that didn't happen. Many defects I have had to fix myself because they couldn't wait. So no, can't recommend.

I had the worst experience with this company. They dragged the tender process out for months on end. Didn’t listen to instructions as to what I wanted with my custom build. It took 7 weeks of asking for the draughts person to make one change to the down stairs which has been communicated from the very beginning! After wasting over 4 months of my time and telling me it should come in on budget it came in $30,000 over with only half of the upgrades I was advised were in the upgraded package.
The sales person stop communicating and when I phoned to ask to speak to one of the owners he fobbed me off to one of his other team members.
The whole process was unprofessional and a waste of my time and money, which I have now lost.
Communication break down within the company is terrible.
The sales people are all very helpful and tell you they can achieve things within your budget only to leave you high and dry half way through the process and the sales manager James was so rude and unprofessional.
I would never recommend this company I had a terrible experience.
Sadly I have spoken to others that I know who experienced the same issues with lack of communication and not listening.

My experience with Mincove homes so far has been a pleasure, my partner and I looked around at all the different builders and options, needing help and asking a lot of questions, all the other builders didn’t really want to give us the time of day, until we come across a Mincove employee named Jake Saunders who is a true professional at his job, he took us under his wing and guided us through the whole process of setting up the build, this is our very first house to be built, so let’s just say if Jake got paid $1 per annoying question asked by me he would be able to retire now a wealthy man, even out of his work hours he is always helping. We have just signed our contract with a lovely lady named Anthea who also had answers to all of our questions and went through everything with us in detail, so far I would definitely recommend Mincove homes to anyone.

After recently signing contracts with mincove homes to built our first home, we were thoroughly pleased and impressed with the service that was provided by James. He explained what would work best for us, and no job was ever too much of a hassle. Would recommend Mincove Homes, and James to anyone looking to build.

I haven’t started the construction of my property yet however so far the process has run very smoothly due to the to the professionalism and helpful nature of James Harrod. He has gone above and beyond to make sure that everything was taken care off! I would highly recommend James Harrod and Mincove homes.
