On a positive note, this hotel is in a very quiet location
The rooms were ok but a little dated, and the walls seemed very thin as you could hear what was happening in other rooms
also, the rear rooms looked out on to someone's else's property

I had a great stay at the Metro Aspire in Sydney! The rooms are reasonably well priced especially if booked through the website. The location is absolutely perfect! It was great that we were able to just park the car at the hotel and walk or take public transport everywhere. The hotel is a short walk from Darling Harbour and heaps of restaurants and we even walked into the heart of the city. Its also close to a light rail that we took to Circular Quay. The staff at the hotel were very accommodating and kind. The only downside to the hotel was that the rooms need soundproofing, you can often hear your neighbours or people in the hallway when in your rooms. And the bathroom was a bit weird as it didn't have a fan and would make everything inside moist. But besides that the room was great, clean and the beds super comfy. I would definitely stay here again I'm back in Sydney!

Great location in a quiet tree lined street, room also had a nice balcony to pick up the afternoon breeze. Staff were very helpful and the car park is conveniently located directly under the hotel. Rooms were comfortable, roomy, clean and well appointed with all the essentials for a 3-4 star hotel.

I really like to stay here, it's close to the CBD, Central Station, Chinatown, ThaiTown. Only negative, no breakfast! - the hotel buffet is closed most days of the week. Please fix!

Reception staff very welcoming, room was very tidy and clean, beds were very comfortable (pillows were great!) and we were thankful for the blockout curtains.

The Metro Aspire is a friendly, comfortable place to stay for a reasonable price. It is located in a quiet street in Ultimo, yet it is an easy walk from the hotel to light rail stations, restaurants and bars, Haymarket and the Sydney CBD. On site car parking was available for a modest additional cost. Book direct via the Metro Hotels website for benefits such as early check-in, late check-out, ability to cancel a booking without incurring a fee and discounted cost for breakfast.

This is such a great hotel. Very close to the city yet has a quiet suburban feel. Lovely room, clean and the staff are great. Highly recommended.

If I could input zero stars I would. I had COVID and tried to cancel, but the staff wouldn't allow me to cancel with a refund, so I travelled anyway so as to not lose any money. After I checked in, I wasn't comfortable using the lift due to potential exposure to others and asked to use the stairs. The staff said I wasn't allowed to use the stairs as they were only for emergencies. When I arrived in my room, my 'King' sized bed was just two twins shoved together. The walls were paper thin, I could literally hear everything that was said and everything on the TV on both sides of me. When I left the building, I found the stairs, but all doors back into the building were locked, so the only way I could leave (not through the lobby) was to go down to the ground level and exit through a side door. It’s a nice building, but due to this experience, I would not stay here again even if I was paid to, nor would I recommend anyone to stay here because the management clearly don’t care about public safety or the welfare of guests.

UPDATE BASED ON BUSINESS RESPONSE:
I initially called the hotel directly to inform them of my positive COVID test and asked for a refund 3 days before I was due to travel. They said they couldn't help me and that I should contact my travel agent. My travel agent (Priceline) reached out to the hotel by phone and informed them of my positive COVID case once again, to which the hotel staff declined to cancel with a refund. This hotel had 2 opportunities to assist me and protect public health and did not.
As I appreciate the concerns the NSW Gov't has put in place, I attempted NOT to travel, but was not in a financial position to 'eat' $200+, so I travelled anyway due to the decisions of this hotel's staff. Whatever concerns the hotel has due to my individual actions, this business did not follow through on what their response notes (which makes me trust them even less), which would have prevented my travel.

During the afternoon, I was on the phone with my fam outside, but I saw a staff ask the person to leave when I was going back inside the hotel. Eventually, I walked to the person and conversed with who was asked to leave the hotel. There was much racism involved, there were no empathy and no welcome for everybody from different countries. Why only the guest who stayed with them could stand in the lobby? That's crazy, and I'll never go back again this hotel if I have the chance to do business again in Sydney. And definitely tell my friends. POOR

隔音態度都很差 什麼都沒有 是賓館嗎?來辦事的還不能有好口氣 因為沒有牙刷牙膏 這不是來玩的住的hotel 這像是背包客棧的高等建築而已 如果不介意可以來試試
The room it’s okay for tidy, same as pictures.
BUT, No toothbrush, Bathrobes, slippers, especial no service.
We came back hotel very late, and found there’s no toothbrush then we called to reception. Their answer is we’re ‘high season’ now, and run out of toothbrush. If you need that you have to wait for 24 hours. (After complaining for a while) They said: If you need that now, we can buy for you, and we gonna charge everything.
So no toothbrush is our fault?

Lovely hotel located in Ultimo. The room was very comfortable and clean, and was decently sized including a balcony. The location is only about a 5 minute walk from Darling Square and 10 minute walk to Central Station. It is a nice and quiet location, and close by a few cafes. The staff were very friendly. Overall, very impressed with this hotel.

Everything was great and a handy location. My only negatives were the walls were thin so sound carried, restaurant currently shut and the smart TVs not really set up to best use their functions.

Nice hotel, only losing 2 stars because of their booking process. My card was declined as I didn't realise they'd charge upfront-that's fine, my fault. They emailed at 11pm advising me to top up my card and reply to the email, I did so as soon as I saw the email. Throughout the day I emailed twice more as my card still hadn't been charged 24 hours after replying to the email. I called on my lunch break the day after to be told I'd needed to fill out a form which wasn't attached to their initial email, they resent it, I filled it out and sent it back. Come the day before booking my payment still hadn't been taken, I had to call again and finally my card was charged. In neither phone call did they explain why all my emails went ignored. 3 days & multiple follow-ups to simply pay a booking is ridiculous.

Really enjoyed my stay here and think it's great value for money. The rooms were clean, service was great and they were quick to provide anything that was requested. The rooms also had most amenities that you would need and unlike many hotels that are keen to use the Covid excuse, they did daily housekeeping.

We tried out the breakfast buffet one morning and while selection was limited, there was most things you would want in a breakfast. Eggs, sausages, breads, pancakes, juices and coffee. It made life easier with a kid as well because some of the inner city cafes can be quite cramped and not suitable for kids.

The only small downside was that both balconies were not super clean but it was quite cold so we didn't spend much time out there. They weren't dirty, just obviously hadn't been cleaned for a few days.

Stayed for a night on Sunday 13th March and was great! Clean rooms and very lovely staff, who are very accommodating with all our requests. Free Wifi and convenient walking distance to CBD and Darling Harbour. Only minor issue is a very slow though working TV with Youtube and Netflix. We will be back!
