Meriton Suites Kent Street, Sydney reviews
67We were a bit disappointed with our stay. On arrival the staff were cold and disinterested. The room was nothing like the photos and was pokey and small (for $325 per night it should have been much better). There was no bin for rubbish in the kitchenette, not even a bag. There was not enough coffee pods for 2 people for 2 nights. There wasn't enough cutlery. The bed was very comfy though, so that was their saving grace.
Great location, good rooms & the staff were all approachable with our housekeeping requests were dealt with quickly. Not sure why people are mentioning slow lifts as there were no issues at all while we were there over 4 days. The only minor negative was lack of a mop/ broom to tidy up during our stay.
We will be staying again when we head back to Sydney.
The room is great, beautiful and spacious but the cleanliness is simply disgusting.the bathrooms were dirty, the kitchen cabinets and stove were dirty and the windows and mirrors were filthy, they even had fingerprints on them.unfortunately it is not the type of cleanliness I expected from a hotel like this.
This is not a 5***** at all!
Poor cleaning and very slow and bad internet connection to be able to work from the room.
The room is spacious and clean, with a well-equipped kitchenette and washing machine. Can see the sunset from the room. Staff are nice.
Excellent location with many shops and restaurants near-by. Just 5-minute walk from the train station
Central location, 10 minutes walk to Darling Harbour, 3 minutes to Chinatown. Coffee shops and eateries abound within a few short steps.
Be prepared for the buttonless elevator system, scan your room card and it tells you which lift to wait for and which floor you are going.
I met a few people who jumped in the first lift to open and end up in the basement rather than thier room.
Bed and pillows were not too hard, not too soft
Good water pressure and plenty of hot if you want.
Great location. Nice rooms. However they didn't service the room once in the four days we were there. No clean towels. No fresh linen. Nothing.
We stayed at the Penthouse for two nights, the view and location is amazing and nothing to complain about. Kids love and enjoy so much. However there is a big space to improve on the service plus equipment and the cleanse in the room.
On arrival we stored our luggage in the morning and back to the hotel around 2pm but we only got our room after 3pm. When the check-in time suppose to be 3pm. When we entered the room we and the overseas guest were in love with the view and how much space we have. Then we found tissues on the stairs and carpet isn't vacuumed. Only one bathrobe was hanging up as the other five were inside the dryer. The bathroom on the bedroom level once you close you couldn't open it from inside.
When checked in the lady advised they need to charge $2000 bond for penthouse which we understand and knew prior. She said they will need to include the credit card surcharge in the bond but will refunded in full after check out. When check out the gentleman advised all is good the bond refund will be processed in the end of the day and 3-4 working days to my account. But they only returned $2000 didn't include the credit card surcharge. When I called the hotel they said AMEX surcharge won't be returned, then why it is not mentioned when we check in! It's $35 but the point is why I need to pay the surcharge!
It is a great and convenient location but be careful on the other things.
Superb hotel, well-equipped and clean apartment, pleasant staff and above all great bedding
Beautifully clean and presented. Housekeeping staff are doing a fantastic job. Attended the No Vacancy Conference in Darling Harbour which was a pleasant 5min walk away. Loved the location so many good food choices and handy to all amenities. I'll definitely be back again.
Booked a $2000 penthouse suite, and will never do so again. The suite was nice, but nowhere near as nice as expected. The bathrooms were mouldy and not as clean as expected. The rooms also smelled like cigarettes when we walked in. We were also harassed by security guards for having some guests, and yet we were not being rowdy and had no noise complaints made against us. The guards were incompetent at 1 30 in the morning not letting people in to their rooms and taking a ridiculous amount of time to check a list, all whilst insulting me because I look young and told them this was poor treatment considering the amount we paid for the room for the night. Other guests who were also stuck in the same situation as us were in full agreement. Considering covid has impacted businesses greatly, I would've thought this hotel would do better, eager to leave guests happy and wanting to come back.
Dont book when you have 2 guests to your appartment! Guest are not allowed in! Absolute disgusting behaviour from security!
Perfect location for everything you need for a quick holiday or even a long stay, rooms are always clean and modern. Have stayed in a few Meriton Suites including World tower and Broadbeach, so glad I am now an Eminence member now! Will be back xxx
Perfect spot it is.
Heaps of shops around for food. Close to attractions.
Customer service is great.
Would definitely recommend.
Elevator doesn't work properly, service desk rude, construction work inside, double charge parking.not sure who even rates these guys. Must be paid reviews
The hotel room itself was nice enough and amenities great however the problem was that the staff at the front desk are unpleasant to deal with and then to have jackhammering in the room next door was a joke I understand the need for renovations but put us in a level where we aren’t affected or tell us before we check in and offer to move us to another hotel!
Noisy jack hammering during the day due to renovations. Elevator broke down so a line up going outside to wait to go up. Hotel entertainment (foxtel) turned off without notice and only free to air available TV. Had to ask for the floor to be cleaned as our feet were black from being inside. Day of checkout someone came to the door and asked if they could lock a room at 9am (10am checkout). This is not a 5 star hotel.
Great location. Close to everything. We stayed at 2 bedroom apartment above 40 levels. You can see the river and bridge.
Hey hey this place is pretty cool with some awesome city skyline at night
Pretty impressive
Really central to world square and some awesome Asian food
Really good facilities thumbs up on the sauna
Very cool Meriton
The lifts can be a bit stressful at times (pretty slow and unorganised for automatic lifts) but I have had worse lifts
I had 5 nighs booking but refused accomodation because I forgot my ID with photo. Me and my cousin with Alzhaimer were left without hotel at 11pm on saturday night. I beg reception manager and show my credit card, medicare, pension card and Qantas FF card he still refused to give us accomodation. It was the worst experience with the hotel staff ever.
