Merimbula Aquarium & Wharf Restaurant reviews
70Dinner last night was fantastic - the food and wine were excellent but the service from a young, friendly and professional crew was the absolute highlight- rare to find that level of hospitality and we will be back
Some of the best fish and chips I have ever had and also really good customer service. I would highly recommend this place
We had the fish and the roast chicken dish. They were both delicious! It was the tastiest fish I’ve ever eaten.
The Aquarium was great, and we were told a lot about the aquatic life by Alan, who volunteers there. Scones and coffee were great and the view is amazing.
This place was sensational. The view was amazing, the seals and dolphins turned it on and the food and service was fantastic. Worth the 3 hour drive from Thredbo
Lovely food and very clean establishment. The view with lunch was great for the kids, they loved watching the fishermen at the warf below. Fish and chips was fantastic, beautifully presented and the brownie & rocky road ice cream was divine, everything I hoped it would be for the price. Absolutely was worth the price. The aquarium had so many species, the kids were very excited looking from tank to tank. Very informative gentleman down there shared lots of information about them and was happy to answer questions.
Great food amazing views, beautiful Aquarium downstairs.
Thanks for making my birthday a great night.
We payed $70 for this Aquarium. Extremely disappointed. It was very tired & run down. There was about 12 small tanks and a few fish. You could probably see the same amount at a pet store. One of the tanks was broken. To top it off they charged an extra 15% on public holidays. I don't know why as there is no staff down in the aquarium. It's also not pram or wheelchair friendly.
Loved this restaurant. It was a surprise find. The owner was lovely. The service was great too.
You would get a better coffee at a 7-11 service station.
Do yourself a favour and keep walking.
Went for the aquarium. It was nice to see, and if you are in the area, it is worth seeing. But I wouldn't travel all this way just to see this.
Actually a very impressive aquarium. They've got a lot of interesting things in there, well worth a visit.
Went to visit the aquarium during our family holiday. It was worth the visit to see. The man there was so friendly and spoke to us about all the fish and sea creatures there with some history on them too. He clearly has a passion for sea life and it shows. He even let us all have a hold of a couple of the star fish and other sea creatures.
Great place, crab was slightly undercooked and mushy, but everything else was delicious! Had a great view out the window, even saw dolphins swimming around.
As I said, apart from the crab everything was excellent.
I had the barramundi and it was good. My wife had the short rib, it was tuff, she needed to get a steak knife to cut it. I don't think this was good for the money, it is expensive and I would expect better for the money. When we told them when we paid, they said Oh usually it's falls off the bone, and thanks for the feedback. Not worth the money, we had a seat outside and I don't think we seen the staff after we got our meal. If you are going to charge five star prices give consistently good food and service. Would not recommend.
This aquarium and restaurant sits at the best location with nice water view. The food was delicious and presented really well! We also visited the small aquarium underneath the restaurant, it’s got 26 tanks in total and all come in different sizes. There were some very interesting fish and the guy who was cleaning the tank was so passionate about fish, he came and told us a lot about the different kind of fish in the aquarium. It was a really pleasant experience!
Not the cheapest place in Merimbula but a fabulous location with very friendly and attentative staff and fabulous meal. The servings were not massive but the food was quality and we were well satisfied when finished. We then lingered a while with a glass of wine to enjoy the beautiful views.
Thoroughly enjoyed our meal there last night.
Excellent, friendly service & lovely atmosphere.
Would not hesitate to recommend to Abbi
Nice place. Aquarium is small and only worth it if you get the tour. There was a person with extensive knowledge and made the trip worthwhile. If he would have not been there then we would have walked out of it in 5 to 7 min thinking money gone wasted. But that guide changed the whole experience.
Amazing service, great location and probably the best seafood Linguine I have ever had! The Roasted Barramundi was brilliant too!
