Melissa Sassine The Academy

I had my wedding booked with Melissa and had cancelled due to a death in the family, (deposit was for 8 people!)
she managed to book someone else on the same date and would not give me a refund
Scum of all scum!

From my honest experience I would not recommend. I did my pre wedding shoot make up with Melissa Sassine and my make up was not nice, considering I paid $500 for this my make up was not applied correctly I had to remove my eye lashes and add my own ones and blend in my make up more. My make up was that bad that my pre wedding shoot photos looked so shocking and didn’t even let the photographer print an album out for me because I didn’t look good in any photos. When Melissa contacted me the week before my wedding I told her I didn’t fully like it and I can tell she wasn’t very happy from my opinion, also on my wedding day she didn’t upload me to her social media as she does with all her brides and I just felt that with all that money I paid she could’ve at least put one photo of me. I took it that she got offended from me telling her I did not like my pre wedding shoot photo. So I felt quite let down and sadly wouldn’t recommend. No hatred just talking about my personal experience.

Yesterday I undertaken a 1: 1 makeup pro lesson with Melissa! & my gosh she is so talented! I learnt so much & she really simplified everything for me. She is absolutely amazing I would recommend this to all artists that are starting out or needing to up-skill like myself to book in a 1: 1! From techniques, products & tools she really covered everything to the point I left leaving so confident. & wow her cosmetics are friggen amazing definitely a must have to add to your kit.
Such a friendly environment the girls were so kind & really took care of me & made sure I had the best experience & I got what I wanted out of it! Best investment ever!
Can’t wait to visit the girls again soon! You’re the best xx

I’m a current student at the Melissa Sassine Academy, and there simply aren’t enough words to express how wonderful the four week makeup course has been so far; this course has been everything I imagined and more. Melissa and her team are so warm, friendly and welcoming, and they all give so much attention to detail and care in everything they do. You can tell by their demeanour that they are incredibly passionate about makeup and instilling valuable skills to their students. Emily and Melissa have given me so much in-depth knowledge, and they take their time to listen to my questions and show me how I can improve my techniques. It is an honour to learn from them, as I am a huge fan of their artistry and I have followed their work for many years now.

If you’re thinking of joining the academy, don’t hesitate! The kit you are given is incredible, the demonstrations are meticulously executed and the prac sessions give you so much valuable experience by broadening your skills. Even when faced with executing challenging makeup techniques, Melissa and her team are there to guide you every step of the way.

I’m so sad that this course will be over soon, but I will be forever grateful for the opportunity to learn at this Academy! Thank you for everything!

Bella was absolutely amazing last Sunday. Our new favourite. Our makeup was flawless and we all got so many compliments on the night. Professional, punctual and so experienced. Big asset to this industry. Thank you Bella.

I have been going here for a few years now I love the outcome of my makeup, but the price had jumped from $90 to $140 (not including eyelashes) which seems abit overpriced, other then that if you don’t mind spending the money then this is a great place.

I did the 4 week makeup course from October to November. I came in very shy and anxious and left the course loving it. I learnt so much from the Academy, especially from Melissa and Robyn. They were both so helpful and I'm so grateful for the experience. I definitely recommend this course.

I absolutely love Melissa! I apply for her make-up course. It was a 4 week course but I learned so much from her. She fast tracked everything, covered colour theory, social media marketing, face shapes and eye shapes. There's a day for theory, a demonstration and then a practical for you. You could also ask Mel questions during the lessons too. She's very generous with her time during lessons.

I found the course an absolute blast and it helped me build up my confidence.

Got my makeup done for my engagement a couple of years ago from a "senior make up artist" and her "assistant", which was her daughter. I hated my makeup and looked ORANGE.i complained on the day and was told as the day went on it'll settle. My sisters did not like their makeup as well. I also complained via e-mail and nothing was done. The ladies were not that friendly and i didn't enjoy their company. I absolutely hate looking at my pictures as i look like a carrot.

I got to meet Melissa and the team one of the best academies since I had other experience with different schools for Makeup, Melissa personally she is a very good teacher you will not only learn make up with Melissa, as well we get to learn how humanity should be. I was so impressed to meet Melissa, the lovely person inside her heart shines and makes you feel honoured to be a student at Melissa’s makeup academy.

Completed my make up here 3 times, only 1 didn’t listen to how light I wanted my makeup and insisted should be dramatic for a photoshoot.

Other times they were spot on, maybe because I didn’t tell them it was for a maternity shoot.

I had an engagement and needed my makeup done. I was booked in with Michael. As I arrived Micheal was very welcoming. The moment I sat in the chair. I had no idea what I wanted to do. He helped me decide and I couldn’t believe how amazing he was. I’ve never felt more beautiful. You are truly an asset and your hands were magical. Thank you Micheal?

I highly recommend this academy Melissa goes above and beyond to teach her students all the tips and tricks to get them started with their makeup careers.
She’s amazing! Her lovely and bubbly personality make you want to spend more than 3 hours a day learning from her …

My sister and I had our makeup done by Robyn for the first time in the studio for a wedding, I have only had my makeup done by Melissa as a bridesmaid so my expectations were high because she delivers such beautiful work (worth every cent), we both left very pleased; Robyn was very professional, well spoken and thorough, she clarified even the smallest of details to make sure she achieved the look we asked for, the service was very welcoming and the communication was very open throughout the entire session so we left with exactly what we asked for and more with her professional guidance and advice. My only other feedback would be to update the highlights on Instagram for each artist more, I love seeing most recent work, it’s very reassuring especially when you haven’t booked the artist before:)
I also have to note the whole atmosphere was very professional, the receptionist (Maria?) was very thorough in taking phone calls and was very pleasant and patient over the phone to all the customers who had called throughout the day with so many questions.

Just wanted to come in here and say that Melissa isn’t just a great makeup artist who runs a amazing business with excellent staff and customer service.
She is a beautiful person inside and out. She does allot of community work that she never speaks about (this is through personal experience) and has helped allot of people. She’s an inspirational woman with a heart of gold.

I did the 6 week course with Melissa Sassine and can honestly say I was sad for it to end. Her work is second to none, Melissa is very patient, helpful and such a great person to work with. She made me feel very comfortable and always feel good about my work. Bella and Robyn were incredible. I highly recommend doing this course. Excited to see what the future holds. And can't wait to visit Melissa and her team again!

I just finished my course and I have learnt a lot and gain so much confidence from this course. Melissa is such a great mentor she is not only an amazing professional makeup artist but also an amazing person. And I cannot thank her enough. Every session was a learning experience. Melissa is not only teaching about makeup but also about Hygiene, social media and on how to build your own business. Waste of money. Been there many times and each time walked out crying. Only used them because I was local. Rude staff and rude owner.

Melissa such a great mentor and also the team very helpful. I’ve made such a great decisions to took this course with her. I was surprised when I came for the first time she’s very welcoming and humble. Highly recommended! ️
