28Terrible wait time despite appointments. Only after I complained did they act. What’s the point of appointments?
Avoid this place - charges for absolutely everything. Plus they don’t warn you about it either. Many other places to go for x-rays.
I've been to medscan Barangaroo twice for MRIs. I have found the service is great, was very quick getting an appointment and cheaper than other places I called. Would definitely recommend and go again.
Lovely staff, makes whatever process you need very simple and easy. Will come back for anything else I need.
I booked a X-Ray and Ultra Sound and was told later that day the machines were getting fixed therefore i had to book for a few days later, scan were done a few days later at which time i was told to expect the result after 12pm the next day. I went to the doctors in the evening the next day as I expected the scan to be there and they weren't.
A few weeks past due to work commitments and I go to the doctors again and still no scan results. After speaking to Medscan they said they made a mistake about sending a FAX (in this day and age faxes are still used apparently to inform doctors of scan results).
I do not recommend this place for X-Rays or Ultra Sounds as it does not live up to the price you pay for the service you get.
Excellent service, from phone call booking, to arriving welcome. The MRI went smoothly bc of the amazingly lovely skills and calm manner of the doctor incharge. My Adult son was having a difficult time in wanting to go to MRI, so it was truly a miracle that he calmly went along. It all went smoothly ofcourse. Very happy with results and the cost was completely reasonable. Highly recommended and my son is happy it was a good experience for him Apart from these essentials the place had a beautiful aspect and beautiful chairs to wait in. Well worth the visit. And happily go there again.
Receptionists were lacking in kindness and understanding. Quite unapproachable. Really makes for a terrible experience if anyone is feeling anxious or overwhelmed by an MRI scan.
Compassion goes a long way.
Receptionist kept giving me wrong information for my 18-20wk scan I was trying to book - told to drink 1L water (it’s actually 600ml), quoted incorrect price, had to rearrange my appt after I scheduled as she booked me in for 30mins but later realized I needed 1 hr. In the end I was going to run 10min late for my appt and they wouldn’t accept that and said I need to reschedule because I would have the full 1 hr only. Despite being told before by another receptionist the appt could be 1-1.5hrs. Ended up going elsewhere! (And for a better price) I had a great experience at medscan CBD so if you must, go to that one instead!
Went for a MRI Enterography yesterday, the receptionists were pleasant enough, the medical centre itself was modern and clean, but that's where it ends.
I was given a drink in preparation for the scan, the technician didn't explain what the drink was but because I had a CT scan a week earlier at another imaging place I assumed they were the same with some contract agent to make my bowel more clearly visible during the scan, the technician got inpatient with me when I didn't quite understand the interval for the 2 litres of drink to be consumed, I was taken aback by his attitude.
Once in the MRI room I was feeling really cold, as he was trying to put a cannula in my arm I asked for a blanket, he said "can I do one thing at a time? '.
I was shivering under the blankets so I asked if it was the drink that gave me some reaction, he said it's got some laxatives, I was thinking why did I have to drink laxatives now that it will only work many hours after I'll have already left the clinic, but I was scared to ask more questions fearing that if he gets annoyed he won't do a thorough job.
My body was shaking from the cold or the drink so I couldn't keep still, I said "I'm really sorry that I'm holding you up", he didn't show any compassion, didn't say oh that's ok take your time, instead he said " Lets get it done and over with, I will be as fast as I can. "
I pleaded with him "please don't rush with the scan", he didn't reply and just pushed me into the MRI machine.
After I got back home I had terrible diarrhoea from around midday through to the evening, I was feeling so unwell.
I suffer from a few health problems, I've had so many CTs X-rays and MRIs over the years at many different imaging places, I've always felt safe, looked after, explained to and respected until this experience at Medscan Barangaroo, I went to Medscan because they had the earliest appointment as it was an urgent request by my specialist, it was my first and last visit there.
Refused to do a doctor ordered ultrasound on a 1 year old because they did not have a negative covid test. It is just disgraceful. So we have to go to the children's hospital, putting more strain on our medical system.
Please ask your technicians to talk to your clients with respect and courtesy. Do not assume that the patients have no understanding of their condition.
Who would have thought I would be reviewing a medical clinic. Medscan was amazing, super easy to book, the staff were really helpful and the process was quick and easy.
To top it off you get easy access to a portal with your scans.
Medscan is one of the best diagnostics I have been to. Everything is seem-less here: Booking, Reception, Sonographers, DR.and Reports.
I have been Barangaroo, CBD and Double-Bay. Same firstclass service.

Not worth the fee at all. Only half of the request as per referral has been done! No way to go back! Disappointed!

Seamless, professional, courteous and caring. A very positive experience. Yes there is no Medicare rebate; however the out of pocket is not so much higher than other private clinics.

I made a booking the day before, scheduled for a mid morning scan. Quick paperwork done at the front-desk and I was seen instantly. I don't think I've ever been looked after at the exact time of the appointment in a medical scenario. My radiologist was swift and very knowledgeable to my questions.
The stellar service did not stop at the exit door, the tool to have access to my scans after I left the clinic is great too! Easy access and I get to see my scans instantly (I don't know what I'm looking at but hey at least I feel like I got my money worth (as Medicare don't cover the entire cost).
Great job to all the staff. I hopefully won't be back but if I ever have too, I'll do more scans here.
HORRIBLE experience do not go to Barangaroo mediscan if you want to be treated with respect.
The radiographer didn’t even make eye contact, he rushed me so much so that I didn’t even finish completing the pre scan questionnaire. Rushed me in, didn’t explain anything. When I entered the room after getting changed, he told me to leave and wait in the change room. Once in the scan room, didn’t even tell me to NOT MOVE which is essential for an MRI. Didn’t tell me how long it would take. Treated like you are in a cattle factory, in and out - like they’re doing it for FREE.
When it was over, again they rushed me out. I was feeling lightheaded after having stayed still for so long but they were rushing me out and rushing the next patient in. I was still in my gown, forgot my basket of clothes in the MRI room and the next patient saw me and was as confused and embarrassed.
The receptionists were even worse. Chatting among themselves, ordered me to pay when I was still filling in the rest of my questionnaire. Was she worried I would run away? She was mumbling and when I told her sorry I didn’t hear that, she was like “which part? ”. So rude. How are would they behave if they were actually providing this service for free or for cheap?
