Mecca reviews
46I used to love this place but don't visit as often anymore as it's a bit of a trek now. Went in last week and was so looking forward to enjoying a mecca coffee. The usual barristers weren't in. Staff were standing at the counter chatting, not making any coffee nor serving customers. I had to wait for them to finish their conversation before they took my order. I then had to wait for them to finish their new conversation again before they started running the grinder. Coffee had a cardboard aftertaste, like the soy milk had been burnt.
Had an absolute great time at Mecca. Was greeted by a very lovely waitress by the name of Lauren who had great coffee knowledge and great suggestions. The manager Demi was very patient and welcoming with me asking lots of questions about the collab and the Roastery.
Both of my coffees and my partner's were delicious as well as the food.
I loved the collab with audio technica and yuli's beer, and the rice lager was also delicious.
(P.s. Tries to upload a photo of the rice larger and it's awesome can but I was unable)
This place has always had very good, strong coffee. I used to go here every day before the pandemic. Unusually I'm back in the CBD today. They survived the pandemic.somehow! Different staff today but the coffee was still good, nice and strong with good flavour, clearly they don't use cheap beans.
Under the eaves of the grace hotel, this little hole in the wall coffee shop does a great coffee (and I say that as a Melburnian) and follows up with a pretty decent bagel too. Dash in for takeaway, or sit outside and "eat in".
Great coffee and food. I ordered a flat white and an Avomato bagel. The filling of the bagel was great and it's very tasty.
Not bad but nothing too special. No real complexity to the coffee. A good place to get a fast coffee on the go with fast coffee delivery.
Wonderful coffee and Hugo is the person that really loves coffee and knows how to properly make it.
Unfortunately they were sold out of food when we visited around midday, but the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Coffee was good. Would visit again if I was in the area.
Bloody great Espresso and the two guys running it still managed to be friendly and calm despite having 30 odd coffees on order. Great place.
Best coffee in CBD for last 12 years.that I know.
Only to noise. Corner Yorkand. King St is to busy.
Really good coffee, the coffee was flavourful. Its located near world square shopping centre. Do definitely give the coffee a try. You won't be disappointed with their coffee. Plus the staffs are friendly. Usually the store has a lot people waiting to get coffee. No sitting though at the time. Its a takeaway coffee shop during Covid
Delicious vegan breakfast! "Cauliflower salad with black barkey, quinoa, pomegranate, hazelnuts, hummus, and lemon dressing".
Its right on the corner at CBD, had breakfast on the way to the zoo, it has verity of healthy breakfast options, highly recommended.
This place gets busy but the service is quick so the wait won't be so long. Menu options are Australia standard - granola and yog, chia bowl, things on toast, Flat white was a little weak to my taste but I'm discovering that asking for a double shot or 'strong' flat white is necessary in Australia to get something strong and smooth, otherwise you'll have a latte in a smaller cup. The gluten free bread is great as is the wild berry jam.
One of the best Vegemite on sour dough I've ever had. The bread was crunchy yet dripping butter. Utterly delicious. Fantastic coffee too.
I think this place is the most popular here in our area for they have friendly bartenders and they served the desired taste of the coffee. As we spent our day here with my co-workers, we were all amazed by the goodness of the staff. They were so accommodating. They gave us a wide space for us to relax while enjoying every sip of the coffee. You guys can bring all your friends here!
For (the best) coffee and a toasted sandwich or freshly delivered croissants this place is where you want to be. I used to come here when I worked nearby years ago - and hadn't been back until today. When I had that first sip of my coffee my faith in humanity somewhat restored. Delicious. And, frankly - the best in Sydney CBD. Thanks guys.
One of the best. There's no doubt that the Mecca Espresso boys produce one of the best coffee in Sydney CBD. Their special brewing method has attracted long queues. The latte that I had today was excellent. It had a beautiful after taste that is unique to the coffee bean that they have. This is one of my favourite coffee spots.
Met a lovely Pommie old lady who took me here for a lovely coffee and some toast.
The Aussie citizens are the best in the world for their friendliness and generosity to total strangers.
Great coffee served by people that really care about what they deliver to your hands. Always fast and friendly. I always enjoyed the sourdough bread with marmalade.
