Mckenzies Hardware reviews
32This shop looks like it is stuck in a time warp. Reckon it looked exactly the same 100 years ago with the same stock. Lovely owner but very limited stock and anything you buy will already be 20 years old!
The first time here and the service was fantastic, and they had what I needed. This place will become a local stop for me. Thanks for your help.
This is a great independent local hardware store. The owners are friendly and helpful and also very knowledgeable about renovation needs.
I came here two years and still remember my experience at this hardware shop. Had the best conversations with the shop owner.:) I needed to fix my new bike but had no clue what tool I needed and how i can do so, the owner patiently explained to me how and what needs to be done and what tool i need
Very good, staff member helpful, knew where to find the products I wanted, shop layout was good, will return again
Best service I have ever had from a hardware store, so friendly, helpful and love Andy's sense of humour. You won't be disappointed when visiting Andy & Lorraine.
Just like the other reviews say, this is the most genuine, friendly and helpful service you will receive in Sydney! Great hardware store, I will always try to find what I need here before I have to look elsewhere. I'm always looking for a reason to visit this wonderful, heart warming shop that reminds me of the good old days.
This is the old style hardware shop where you receive personal family style help and advice. Nothing but originality and service.
The other reviews have pretty much summed up this wonderful little shop. It's a through back to the yesteryear of my past, it's not trying to be nostalgic, it just is, what a lovely surprise. The lovely gent that runs it is genuine, friendly and funny. He had exactly what I wanted and it came with decent advice. Take cash, or prepare to have your credit card run through the old school visa machine. Someone mentioned dogs, the one that met me barked, that's all. So glad to have stumbled onto this little reminder of my past. I will certainly recommend and come back.
Lovely man that served me - love the old school vibe and the fact he found exactly what I needed! Funny and helpful:)
Proper hardware shop, with a bell over the door and everything. Came away with what I needed, some sound advice and best of all, wonderful service. I'll always come here instead of Bunnings wherever possible. What an unexpectedly lovely shop
The nicest, most genuine service ever. I needed help repairing an air mattress and after helping me find the small piece of sandpaper I needed wouldn't charge me for such a little thing. This tourist was very appreciative (the difference between sleeping and not!) and the gesture was appreciated. Obviously a business that cares about its community. Highly recommend.
Very friendly throwback of a place, owners have been there for decades. The kind of place where you can get useful advice rather than the cluelessness you get in chains.
Like the hardware store my dad used to take me to as a kid!
The perfect antidote to the Bunnings megastores. The proprietor is a real gent who know his stuff and is ready with advice and a joke and a smile.
Really reasonably priced; but it’s cash only (though with three major banks situated around the corner this is only a minor inconvenience)
Lovely, kind and honest gentleman who taught me how to fix the water leak in the bathroom sink. He genuinely enjoys educating people and being of help. Highest recommendation possible. Will be back
Came in with no money and a broken motorcycle and he help me out anyways, top bloke please go in there and spend your money and make sure you bring cash!
The gentleman in this shop is simply amazing. He said 'I'd love to take your money, but honestly, just buy some toothpaste to fill it in" he saved me $50 and gave great advice. It worked. I will be going to this shop and always spending my money there. Got to keep this fabulous customer service alive. Thankyou.
I called in at 8pm looking for a last minute tool. He said that he had closed already but to come down anyway and he would stay up. The guy's name is Andy and he is a great guy, very informative and helpful and deserves a mention. Definitely worth the stop.
I live right near this shop and am always popping in for odds and ends and they are super nice and occassionally give me a washer and screw cost free. It's run by a lovely older couple and they've crammed as much into this shop as possible. I agree with the other reviewer that there are some older products on the shelves, but I think it's part of the charm. They have all the necessities. This is a real hardware shop.
