I couldn’t be more pleased with the service provided by Kerryn and Gavan at McGrath Terrigal. Thanks to them my property achieved a very satisfactory price and was on the market for less than 2 weeks.

Very disappointed with the leasing area of this agency. A house came up that we were interested in, and l sent an enquire through immediately, however did not receive any response. Two days later l sent a inspection request and again, no response. I called the next day and was told that they were not sure why l had not been contacted.
I was then told there was an inspection the next morning- so l organised work & childcare so l could attend. Approx 1 hour later l received a generated notification that the house was leased and no longer available.
This is the second time my fiancé and l have tried to see a house with this agency and have been either ignored or rudely spoken to over the phone.
I would think very carefully before going through this agency.

Jordan Bulmer is without a doubt, the most impressive agent we came across in our long property buying journey. As a first home buyer in a very hot market, Jordan always made us feel like we were his priority, whilst ensuring the best result for the seller. Our first buying process became far easier once we met Jordan, and I know that when we do look to sell he'll be the only one we call, as we have clearly seen his edge and drive in market.

I have had Elise Thomas as my property manager for some time now and she has definitely been one of the best that I have dealt with. She has always been timely, organised and clear with her communication. I am glad that I can feel confidence with the way that she handles things for me. I have also found that the office is well systemated with the way that things are done and the level of training of the staff in general has also been well above the average. Nobody can ever claim to be perfect every single time, but these guys have always done a more than impressive job for me for around 7 years now-Denis Milutin.

I'm a Landlord
McGrath may work well, gaining their percentage fees for your simple 1 bedroom flat in a holiday town.

They really just didn't work for our 5 bedder, mid 80's house on a 1/4 acre plot.
Expensive tradies, poor communication and a general lack of 'management' of the property put us off.

When paying a company several hundred dollars a month to 'manage' a property, i'd expect some common sense management stuff to apply, and some basic service received,
simple things like.

Asking tennant to provide pictures of damage / broken fixings to allow landlord to easily authorise repairs

Have a known local handyman / tradie handy to quickly identify and fix issues in days (not months)

Have someone to 'filter' whimsical requests by tennants, not just pass them up the chain and demand they be done.

Have someone to immediately respond to genuine urgent issues by the tennant.

Don't just add invoices to the bills to be paid by the landlord without questioning them first (meaning landlord has to check every bill)

Not allow 100's of dollars of consumables be charged to the landlord,

communicate in a timely manner

Summary,
We're $1000's out of pocket and the tennant moved out of our property

Update - we moved to a new agent, new company who just got stuff done.
We don't have to pay a $30-50,000 repair bill, the new realestate agent's local guy got things done for a tenth of that.
They found us a new tennant who seems happy
and key is, we feel we can TRUST the new agents to just get genuine issues sorted quickly and invoice us without having to ask permission.

Update - RE the 'several attempts to resolve the issue' comment by the realestate.
Yes, fair enough, they changed the agent handling the property.they never addressed the core issue of ridiculously over the top pricing on tradies and the requests for photographs of so called damages that the tennant requested repairing.

For example -

Mcgrath
Range hood bulb not working - took months for a contractor to say 'replace the whole range hood' at a couple of thousand dollars + total including labour.
New agent, 1.5 weeks. 'let us install some LED lighting by the cooker, should cost a couple of hundy and hook into exisiting under counter lighting anyway'

McGrath
Steps outside need fixing, decking out the back needs oiling (due to tennant pressure washing AGAIN) and a bit of fixing
that'll be a few thousand bucks plus a few hundred, plus.

New Agent
Looks good, needs a bit of patching, the guy can get those done with the decking out the back, (ended up costing under a thousand)

I just wanted to pass on some positive feedback for Elise Thomas.

I have been working with Elise with a large portion of McGrath properties for over 12 months now in my capacity as General Manager of Central Coast Smoke Alarm Services.
