I had the pleasure of renting a property through McGrath Real Estate, and I cannot express enough how exceptional my experience was, largely thanks to my outstanding property manager Kate Rayner. What a great team in particular Mr Tarl Buckley. He goes out of his way and that extra step further to meet the needs of his clients. Told me if I don't buy this house, then I can't afford to buy any houses ever again because interest rates are rising. Didnt know he was personal accountant?
I have never dealt with someone so rude when I said I was not interested in buying a certain house.
I could not recommend this agent to anyone ever.

Incredibly unprofessional.
Did not notice when the tenant renting my property had not paid rent for months. When I made them aware of this, they did not immediately issue a termination of the tenants lease, so he continued to live in my property without paring rent.
When he finally vacated the property, it was left a mess.
Donna yeamen has consistently ignored my calls and emails when I have tried to communicate with McGrath about these issues and continues to do so.
I have had many other issues with this real estate agency. I can’t wait until I no longer have to deal with them

I have known David & Hayley for many years, during this time & with the recent sale of my villa at a price totally unexpected above what thought, I have always found them both to be of such a high standard of professionalism & knowledge in their field.
They kept me in the loop the entire time my villa was for sale & nothing was too much trouble! This is by far the best real estate in the Illawarra with David & Hayley as awesome realtors. They are so highly recommended to everyone who wants an awesome sale experience.

Extremely unprofessional. Retained our entire bond despite telling us on numerous occasions that they would only keep a smaller portion. We found out after months of chasing from NSW Fair Trading that McGrath Wollongong kept the entire bond. The Agent did not inform us at any stage of this. It explained why they ignored my phone calls, texts and emails for weeks before I finally reached out to NSW Fair Trading. Terrible agents throughout the life of the 5 year tenancy. We never missed a payment of rent, not a single late payment, even throughout the pandemic.

As a tenant, expect inaction, complacency and incompetence from these agents. As a homeowner, expect the agents will do the bare minimum to retain the value of your property. The tribunal will be getting involved.

I tried. I really did, I was so patient. Rented out my house through McGrath. Neither party (landlord or tenant) had a good experience. Hadn't paid my Water bills or Council rates for almost 12 months leaving me with late notices and interest payments. Tradies preferred to go direct because the agency was giving them the run around. Very poor response times to my enquiries, quite often totally ignoring me and the tenants. I ended up doing most of the property management myself.

When I formally notified the agency that I was moving to another agency, they had the gall, despite all of the above issues, to try to force me to serve out the contract. This is after numerous letters, phone calls, e-mails and even escalating to the Department of Fair Trading.

I hope for their sake that they are doing something to turn this around but as for me, I have finally broken free after numerous calls and e-mails and I've had to settle my debts with both Council and Sydney Water (including interest) on my own. I also had to manage and pay tradies and deal with other matters myself and/or directly with the tenant because both parties had such a poor experience. I was patient, I really was. I tried everything I could to prevent having to change agencies and gave them so many chances to fix the situation, but after wasting so much time managing the property myself, I couldn't stand it any longer. It's a shame because I bought the property through them and that experience was good. But I will never have them manage my property ever again. I gave them too many chances - way too many chances.

All of the staff at McGrath are very accommodating and lovely! Especially Cohen Smith who has been so much help and a lovely real estate agent to me!

The agency didn't update contact information for current rental tenants and I found out that trades were contacting former tenants instead of me when I requested maintenance, McGrath staff would ask me if (name of a former tenant) would be home instead for a trade to visit and strata would email myself and the previous tenant assuming we lived together even though they left. Now I've been called by trades about work the new tenants have requested! Maintenance requests were done through an app, limiting communication and it seemed there was no urgency from McGrath when issues were raised.

My Partner contacted McGrath Wollongong a few days ago to ask the price of a listing. The listing info said contact agent for price. We tried that, we requested the price 3 times, each time the real estate agent replied with useless information about other listings. We then asked her to not contact us anymore and was very clear about it. Since then we have had phone calls, messages and emails from her. PLEASE STOP CONTACTING US, ALL WE WANTED WAS THE PRICE WHICH WAS NEVER GIVEN TO US

Me and my partner contacted Cindy from this company for the price of a property. The listing said contact agent for price. We tried, 3 emails later she still wouldn't tell us the price, since then we have asked her to not contact any more which she is now, calling, emailing and sending txts despite our several request to not contact us anymore. If you are not willing to tell us the price then please respect our wishes and please stop contacting us.

Since my first interaction with Kate Homles team member of Mc Grath, it has been a professional and a high quality service. The whole process of moving in was made easy and I felt welcomed immediately.
