A little disappointing. Whilst the carving was amazing it is hard to see due to long grass and plants around it.

Great art work around the town that reflects the town's history.
One of the best town drinking water supplies in nsw for campers and caravans to fill from.
Take a walk down the mainn street visit the pub or Cafe.

This town on the Murry is awesome. Mathoura is a beautiful heart of Australia. Very friendly helpful locals.

Lived there for more than 40 years, raised 6 kids and worked in various businesses. Worth stopping and checking Mathoura out. Friendly, close to the mighty Murray, Edward river and Gulpa creek. Tiny town with a big heart!

The Mathoura Bowling Club Camping Area is flat, grassy and right by the Bowling Club. It also offers very clean toilets, extra-hot, clean, new Showers. The Club offers Cold Drinks, Keno, Tab, Poker Machines, Raffles, great Meals and has very friendly and welcoming staff. If you check in at the Club upon arrival, they will give you the code to use for access to the showers. We left our caravan and went exploring where we found A Bra Fence with an explanation board and a Big, Metal Cod Fish, both within the town area. Just 5 kms out of town, we found a great place called the Reed Bed Bird Hide that has a new, wooden boardwalk up to the bird hide over the lake and plaques along the boardwalk with photos of the different birds and attached to them are speakers that play the different bird's songs which is a must see. We really enjoyed our time there. Then we explored the Edward River Camping Area which was another 1.5 km further on towards Picnic Point. Check out our photos and you will see what I mean. Hope you get to enjoy these places too as we did.
