Masala Kitchen Penrith reviews
52 Be aware of this resturant, they charge to for the others whole table as well and you have to check your bill - this is what they said. Don’t trust this restaurant honestly and ethics.
Will never go back
Delicious food with lovely, friendly & helpful staff. Venue is beautiful. Looking forward to returning.
Incredible food, I frequent this establishment often for family, and client events and I am slays impressed with the food and happy hour cocktails are the best in the area… the smoky negroni is an incredible classic cocktail. Highly recommend the Thali plate as a generous and affordable lunch option.
Fantastic food. Delicious lunch special for only $20 and large portions. The best butter chicken!
We stopped by for a quick meal, the food and service was awesome. We will definitely be back with friends.
Beautiful food, great customer service and perfect atmosphere for a meal with some nice music in the background. I will definitely be back again and then some.
We went here tonight and it was absolutely incredible! The food was amazing, we got the banquet and it was so much food. The best part was the staff. They were so good with my daughter and made it a memorable night! We will definitely be back.
Food is delicious and staff is very friendly. I will definitely recommend Masala kitchen for family dinner.
I really enjoyed my meal at Masala Kitchen. The space was nice. The food was delicious. The menu's slightly different, which was interesting, and all of the dishes were freshly prepared. I definitely recommend a visit to this venue.
It was my first time to this restaurant and certainly not the last. We were served by friendly staff and taking our order tonight was Rojan. We were greeted with warm smiles and taken to our seat and within a few minutes he was already taking our order. I ordered the Mango Lassi and my mum had the Lychee and Apple Mojito. We both enjoyed our drinks. We ordered the vegan dumplings, fried. Yummy! Then for mains I ordered the Goat Biryani and the Oh My Goat curry, medium heat, the Mumbai Prawn Curry, hot heat, and garlic and cheese naan. My Mum ordered the Daal Tadka (lentils) and the Chana Masala (chickpeas) with vegan roti. I couldn't pick a favourite as all the dishes were delicious! Thank you, we will be back.
Such a variety of food options, every diet is welcome here. Had the beef rogan josh and it was delicious. Staff was friendly and welcoming, Rojan in particular was awesome
Lovely staff, there are lots of menu choices. We had the delicious Thali which has lots of small dishes with 3 curries, rice, naan, papadum, salad and lots more! Fabulous!
Awesome food as always!
Oh my Goat, Vegan Butter Chicken and the fish tacos, all great!
And a cheeky old fashioned!
If you like Indian - don’t eat here. Flavoured down. My butter chicken had a lot of sour cream in it? Bones in my chicken. Furniture was also dodgy.
Fantastic food. The best Naan bread we have ever had.
Everything was so tasty.
The staff were very helpful
Where do I start! Terrible experience from the moment we walked in. Customer service was appalling!
We booked ahead knowing that we have a big group (8 people) but they clearly weren’t ready for us when we walked in. They seated us outside in the cold by pulling some tables together. Not professional. The manager wasn’t even in their staff shirts he was just in a t-shirt and hoodie. We asked for another heater which was just sitting there not turned on and he just laughed and said no. There was no offer to even move us inside when tables began to free up. The manager was our waiter (which is fine) but he was very rude and had an attitude when we asked for more time to figure out what we wanted. We aren’t a small group so it takes a bit longer for us to decide.
The real issues arose after we ordered. We waited over an hour for food to arrive and no one even apologised. When it did the two entrees weren’t brought together and when the second entree was finally brought over only 4 out of the 8 kebabs were placed on the table we had to ask where the rest were and they hadn’t even cooked them. We knew this as the first plate came out Luke warm and the 2nd plate came out very hot but the middle was undercooked.
The mains yet again took a very long time to come out and when they did the rice was cold by the time the curries arrived. Further, you’d think that a feast would leave you feeling full after paying $39pp for 2 entrees, 4 mains, rice and naan (shared between 8 people) but no! There was not enough rice and naan.
It was close to them closing now so we thought that we should get going, we tried to flag down a waiter to get the bill but everyone was busy cleaning tables so we had to walk to the bar to pay the bill. The bill hadn’t even been created and they were asking us what drinks we had. Unprofessional. Then they tried charging us for things we hadn’t ordered! When we complained about the experience they finally apologised but did nothing about it. We definitely won’t be returning!
On an unrelated note to the experience the food wasn’t great either, I’ve tasted better for cheaper. Also, I’ve never seen a restaurant charge a “cakeage fee” especially not $4pp! I understand it for alcohol since there’s a liquor license to pay but why do they need to charge for bringing cake?
Lovely personal. And I really enjoyed the best coffee. Definitely coming back for lunch with my friends. Thank you
I have been to this restaurant may be 5th or 6th time. Food is very average and flavours and taste is very inconsistent too. I had butter chicken may be 4 or 5 times and every time it taste different. Today was the worst experience. Butter chicken was basically full of sauce with only 2 pieces in there. It was very bland too. I just didn't want to make big fuss over there as I was in happy mood and don't want to spoil it further more with my dinner disappointment. Just imagine $20 for 2 pieces of chicken and sauce. One occasion I ordered goat curry take away and it tasted burnt. I sent many customers to you guys as I love to support Indian restaurant business if I can.
I can't recall the name of the girl right now but every time I have been there she always have been amazing. I am not sure if I will be returning or not as I was planning couple of gatherings with my friends and team over there. Please guys lift your game and be consistent. One bad experience can take lot of customers away and it impact the business badly. These are still early days and you have long way to go. I wish you guys take this feedback seriously as I am a hospitality professional by myself and worked as a chef for so many years.
Very Very pleasant staff and good Indian food - recommend the lunch Thali plate for a mix of everything. Good vegetarian catering options
Really good service. Tasty food! Appealing environment. Try definitely the feast good price and you get out full and satisfied. The music needs work. Didn't like the western pop in an Indian place. Expected some modern Indian music
