Mary Booth Lookout Reserve reviews
32 . Dr Mary Booth Park and Lookout
With beautiful views of the Harbour Bridge and Opera House, it’s no surprise the Dr Mary Booth Lookout is a popular place for tourists and locals alike. A short five-minute walk from Milsons Point, this dog-friendly park is a great spot if you want to go on a picnic with your furry friend in tow. The park is named after physician and welfare worked Mary Booth who did incredible work for women’s rights in the early 1900s.
Address: Waruda St, Kirribilli
Amazing secret location with the best views of our beautiful Sydney Harbour and Harbour Bridge. We had a picnic and another group had a little wedding ceremony. We waved and smiled at the bride when she went past us casually after the event to get something.
Very relaxing spot for a picnic. Views are stellar! Make sure to bring your own mat and snacks though. Also, might need to put on some insect repellants on your feet lol
Best sunset spot there is. Stunning view and the calming sound of the water. You also get to witness a lot of Proposals and other magical events.
Nice secluded space with stunning harbour bridge view. Access from Waruda street and stairs down to the water. No big infrastructure, but a simple bench - still very much worth spending some relaxed time.
Excellent place for photography at One of the best spots in Sydney with spectacular views of the city skyline opera house and the cruiseliner ships from great vantage points with park benches alongside the harbour, it's an ideal spot for watching the light shows on the harbour bridge.
Such a spectacular place to get married!
If you want Sydney Harbour and the Harbour Bridge as the backdrop as you exchange your wedding vows then this is the spot for you!
While amplified music and microphones are not allowed, it really is otherwise a brilliant place for a quintessentially Sydney wedding.
Best view of Sydney harbour and the iconic Ioeta House & Harvour Bridge! Great spot for a picnic!
Dr Mary Booth Lookout is probably something that many tourists and visitors to Sydney never get to see, and they'll be unhappy when they read this review and realised they probably walked, drove or public transported past it several times on their trip. Bummer dude!
Why do I rate it so highly:
- Look at the view
; arguably the best viewing spot of the opera house and harbour bridge on the Kirribilli side.
- It's quiet and peaceful
; There's never been anyone else here whenever I visit.
- You can have a picnic here
; though the pagoda is no longer around, so you'd have to choose a perfect day.
- Plenty of green space and also seating is available
- It's 100% FREE to use
How do you not miss out next time? Easy. There is a walkway below that runs along the harbour foreshore from Jeffrey Street Wharf all the way to the lookout. Get on that and when you climb the steps you'll be here.
Otherwise if you are closer to Beulah Street Wharf, alight and head along Waruda Street towards the bridge and you'll find your way also.
Mary Booth Lookout is one of those unassuming little places probably best known to locals in Kirribili. There's a stairs up to the lookout if you keep walking east from Jeffrey St wharf and another entrance by Waruda st. It's got great views of the harbour with Opera, Sydney skyline and the Coat Hanger (Harbour Bridge) in a single view.
I don't need to include pictures, just imagine right in front of you, the harbour not more than 1 metre away, the Opera House directly across, the Harbour Bridge to your right, The Botanic Gardens to your left. Grab a Burger or Fish & Chips, a bottle of chilled Lambrusco (all available from Kirribilli Village up the road) sit yourself on the solid timber posts along teh waters edge and you can enjoy one of the world's best views for free. Magic on a warm summer's evening.
Beautiful scenery of the bridge and the city. Common to see couples picnicking in the foreground. Easy place to get to if you're within walking distance.
My brother proposed to his girlfriend here and had picnic with both families afterwards. The scenery is surreal.
Best vantage point for taking in two of the best views of Sydney _ that is Opeta House and Harbour Bridge.
Not much of a view considering it's location. View of harbour is obstructed { partially } by trees.
I had a picnic done by luxury.picnic.events and they suggested this place and it was just beautiful. Great views of the bridge, very private. Just loved it. They are on Instagram and really worth a follow.
Great lookout place, you can picnic nearby and depending on the time there's usually enough parking spaces not too far away
This is the most secluded, quietest, prettiest view you can get from Sydney harbour just across the Opera House and next to Harbour bridge. You can even see one of the Anzac bridge pylons and the whole CBD skyline is boldly affront!
One of the best views in Sydney. Grab some takeaway from Kirribilli, walk down and take a seat.
Beautiful hideaway spot. Had my birthday picnic here and it was so gorgeous and beautiful! Only drawback is the parking and that there is no shade.
