Marrickville Bowling & Recreation Club

Great venue for the event that I attended, The roof was a little bit damaged and sagging though. I heard that it has also flooded recently, but an awesome place.

This is a great venue.
You other venues should grab your clipboard and spend sometime there.
Friendly people (staff)
Amazing healthy restaurant food
Great music (with alot of promotion)
Top in house audio and lighting.
With knowledgable sound engineer.
No aggressive bouncer at door, just a friendly person
Clean toilets
Lots of fun (anyone remember that)

Security and RSA were weird tonight but it's usually a cute small venue with an awesome ceiling

I attended a 50th birthday party on Saturday. I have to say the food which was served up was diabolical. Sausage rolls with rice balls and chicken skewers. All bland and completely tasteless. The value for money was disgraceful. I felt bad for my friend who had paid almost $400 for what was served. A shocking rip off! And no air conditioning to boot!

Love seeing gigs here. However i was pretty surprised to see the dogs (police) and their dogs (sniffer dogs) accosting every patron in the venue without any consent and completely out of the blue. Tomato, mozzarella and rocket salad was off its head.

They've done a great job bringing this club back to its former glory days, with the original interior unchanged and all. It's like going back in time. The food is excellent too, economically priced with a varied menu.
Many bands are playing here now, its loud, all genres. The only renovation that's needed this the bathroom.

A great mix of people from all crowds and walks of life. I've been here a few times and was always greeted with friendly service and very affordable drinks. One night there was old timey swing night on and it was awesome to see a huge crowd of oldies getting their boogie on. The venue is the host of many kinds of events from country and blues nights to modern dance music.

Came to see Ed Kuepper and was surprised by the venue. Great bar staff. Heaps of local boutique and mass produced beers. Pretty cool vibe to the place. Food wasn't bad either.

I bowled a perfect 17 here but it wasn't really perfect. What was perfect was the beer and atmosphere. Great place for live bands, live comedy and live trivia.

Oh Marrickville Bowlo - it’s almost the last bastion of something - I just don’t know what. Human detritus from the Sando? - as a venue it’s great - the food is good as in edible and not associated with pomp and ceremony - and the local anarchists will not give a flying fluck about the no smoking signs outside.

It took s while to get set up and started. I’m talking like an hour, I asked prior if I could come with a 10 week old baby.staff said it was fine but open smoking area all of outside, needs a designated spot.and also no baby change facilities? It’s cheap drinks tho)

Came here on sunday for a few drinks and food. Food was reasonably priced and was very delicious. A place for the older crowd. They had a live band playing.

Great fun on a Summer Saturday afternoon of lawn bowls! Good selection of beers, friendly staff and close to public transport.

Since the General burnt down, this was the next best option for a Reschs somewhat near Sydenham Station - they serve it, however, in plastic cups. Might make sense if you’re on the bowling greens, but if you’re just a law-abiding citizen wanting to cool your heels, being subjected to this nanny state policy is insulting. Not to mention it takes away from the flavour of the beer. Guess I’ll have to make the trek to the Henson Park.

Came here for our work Xmas party. Food was hugely delayed and meals were missed. Bit of attitude to get refunds for people that had to leave.some improvements to be made.

Good on the club for still supporting live music and a venue for new bands to showcase their talent. You can grab a bite to eat while you listen.

The perfect place to take a step back in time and experience Marrickville as it was in the 80’s

Amazing bowlo. Had a trivia night there which went off. Usual run down status as per most bowlos these days but will come again for sure.

Good pub with so much potential, unfortunately needs some work done a mayor renovation will be nice it's about time!

This is an old-school bowling club, it is a throwback to my childhood minus the Chinese restaurant.

The staff were not very welcoming, but not rude. The prices were reasonable and they offer member discounts (you must be a member of you live within a certain radius).

The food was reminiscent of a 90s pub; schnitzel, parmigiana, steak & wedges with the side salad overdressed in one too many thousand islands.

Bowling was fun, though prepare to repeat your conversation s or pause them as the planes fly overhead so low that you can almost see the passengers waving.
