Awesome place. Cheapest beer/grub on the beach in the eastern suburbs. Mostly friendly staff. Just wish it had more of an atmosphere!

I never post bad reviews but unfortunately I feel compelled to rate the bistro food here; it was that bad. The only thing that was acceptable was the kid’s spaghetti bolognese. Our steak was supposed to be medium rare but it was well done (and full of gristle). Kids chicken strips were some kind of processed garbage resembling chicken and so bad that my chicken loving 4 year old refused to eat them. Salt and pepper calamari was just crumbed little bits of calamari with next to no flavour but the “piece de resistance” was paying an extra $3.50 for mashed potato which the kitchen staff later admitted was brought in in tubs; packet mix. It had the colour of A4 paper and tasted like chemicals. The most disgusting “potato mash” I’ve ever eaten. When I pay an extra $3.50 for potato I expect real potatoes mashed with butter and cream, not this chemical rubbish. Yuck. The prices are reasonable but I guess they reflect the quality of the meals. Top it all off, the entire area had a strong perfume smell, likely giving the illusion of extra cleanliness but in reality it’s nauseating. Zero interest in coming here ever again

We both had the same meal of grilled Barramundi with garlic prawns salad and chips. The fish was dry and chips very oily. I would not recommend this place.

Absolutely disgusted with the treatment that a friend of mine received at this club. My Aboriginal friend is a bus driver for a charity organisation, and took a group of 12 senior citizens and 2 staff (including himself being staff) to the club for lunch. He was discriminated against and was not being let into the club by the lady at the front. She also told him that there should be 2 staff looking after the seniors and not just one. He explained to her that he had to park the bus and then return to help the seniors and that there were 2 staff looking after them including himself.

He called his supervisor and asked the lady to speak to the supervisor, and this lady refused. His supervisor then called the lady at the club to discuss the issues and ask to speak to her manager, and she was hung up on abruptly and rudely.

I would never recommend this club to anyone, unless this staff member has been removed from the front.

My friend felt that he was targeted due to his ethnicity, that she was rude and abrupt and not accountable for her terrible customer service. It made him feel terrible. It was a quiet day there and this group of seniors and staff spent a lot of money at the club that day. They should have been grateful that they were even there considering how quiet it was. With an attitude like that, I am not surprised how quiet it was.

Just appalling!

We come here every special occasion as family with kids, grandparents and all. NYE we went out to get Christmas gifts for the kids only to be refused re-entry by the most rude security guard ever. My heavily pregnant wife and I were stuck outside and had to leave without saying goodbye to the family. Disgusting behaviour by the security guard. At least have the decency to have a conversation instead of being a jerk to the pregnant lady. I appreciate it closed at 10 but we could have been told that on the way out… it was 9: 55 anyways. Regardless, manners would be appreciated.

I enjoyed atmosphere not as busy as jnrs Kingsford.guitar player meals excellent poultry with veg.relaxing bar.view is ok

Love the view, good lunch specials each day. Portions getting smaller over time but still good value overall.

Variety of choices for meals. Good size servings and reasonable prices. Very clean and welcoming

Relaxed atmosphere with all the right protocols in place with regard to the current 2020 Covid 19 situation.
Caters for all sorts, families, the elderly, the young, the gamblers, the quaffers, the sports fans and myself.

Nice area for relaxing day out, need to arrive early to get car spot, plenty of eating shops here, take away on beach front very pricey.

The bistro is expensive and the food is average, staff are so unfriendly no manners have no desire to go back there again!

Disgusting treatment from the rude women at the front desk! Saying condescending things to each other like "oh another one who can't prove vaccination" Condescending and horrible on a complete power trip. Made a total scene in front of other guests by talking over top of me and demanding information like showing my MyGov account and forcing me to tell them about my personal circumstances which was very imbarrassing for me. As a hospitality manager in many venues across Australia over 15 years I was shocked and told them what I thought about the discrimination, over proof of vaccination. I am double vacinated ironically.

My whole family of 7 had to also leave the venue due to this.

Wanted me to provide vaccination certificate. However, I was let inside this same venue by one of these women only two weeks earlier with no proof required.

I am double vacinated but due to leaving a domestic violence situation in QLD did not have any paperwork to provide them. Made me reveal imbarrassing and personal details about my circumstances to explain why I could not prove I was double vacinated.

Service men like my great grandfather and great unlcle Lancelot Clinton Armstrong would be absolutely appauled.

Please note: you are not welcome at the Maroubra Seals Club if your unvacinated and if you are vacinated and can't produce your papers or provide a sufficient reason to these women prepare to be harrassed and treated poorly.but don't worry they are just doing their job.

Food was satisfactory. A lot of Asian influences in the menu. Good menu for children. Priced reasonably for the area. Nice environment for lunch.

Older gentleman in Reception on is Robotic and unhelpful every time you visit. If you don't like your job, retire! Food in bistro was delicious, table service in terms of cleaning was poor! Tables were not wiped. Club lacks atmosphere and could do better. Toilet amenities are immaculate. Club has potential and with entertainment similar to Juniors at Kingsford could thrive:)

Great place for food. People are very friendly. Safe, too, as you need to provide proof of vaccination on entry.

Good priced drinks and meals, the whole place has great views of the beach.
Has everything you need.

A renovated and modern club with very reasonably priced beer and food with a large selection of meals. There is a large pokie area on the first floor if that’s your thing, but otherwise this is a really nice beachside club. Highly recommended.

Bistro food and service was great. Very disappointed in bathroom amenities because the disability bathroom was closed awaiting repairs and the downstairs bathroom door was very hard to open when using a walking aid.
