Im writing this review on behalf of all the students who attended and graduated in recent years. More specifically those who attended the school from 2018 onwards. Most students who attended during this period i'm sure will recall the shift away from culture in the school with the abandonment of many school traditions. This abandonment of traditions marks the beginning of Marist Eastwood becoming an ATAR factory. As i'm sure ATAR is the biggest selling point for parents to send their children to the College, the school shifted care from a mix of education and student life to pure education.

While i know this may sound great after all that is why we attended school. Marist College Eastwood in recent years took this to an extreme. Taking away the post HSC awards ceremony from the students. I know many students who worked tirelessly in their HSC years to achieve dux, and dreamt of reading out their speech to all the students, parents and teachers at the awards ceremony to only have it stripped from them. In addition the high number of students excited to receive their awards for receiving a band 6 for all their hard work, not even being allowed to dress up and return to the college to see and thank all of their old teachers. While this is just one example that I have provided there are countless traditions that were stripped away I just find this to be the one that affected many students the most.

Solid facilities and teachers. Though staff may have changed. The main issues come about from the schools connection to Catholism. Too often we were taken out of class unexpectedly to perform montonous tasks in the church next door. Time would be spent doing choire over education. Teachers would pressure and harass students of opposing faith. I have a vivid memory of a muslim boy who said it was against his religion to take part in prayer at the church, yet was forced to do the same as the others. Teachers would commonly spout information that was outright false such as 'video games and movies are linked to real world violence'.
Evolution was taught in science class, but I don't believe our teacher really took it seriously. It has all the pitfalls of a religious boys only school. Rather than focusing on education theres too much focus put on arbrituary outdated rules. The school was much more focused on protecting their public image above all. Students were oftened punished for things that took place outside of school in their personal time. If your hair was a centimeter too long they would drag you to the hairdresser. Teachers would laugh and jest about these things but they all seem kind of innapropriate when the main purpose of schooling should be education.

The positives were that the facilities are just better than most public schools and the teachers for the most part were of higher quality and more engaged with their students.
Teachers took less of a theory approach and lessons were hands on and more engaging and fun.

Did you know that oxygen is a colourless, odourless reactive gas, the chemical element of atomic number 8 and the life-supporting component of the air.
"if breathing stops, there is no oxygen getting to the brain and the cells begin to die"

A dictator is a political leader who possesses absolute power. A state which is ruled by a dictator is called a dictatorship. The word originated as the title of a magistrate in the Roman Republic appointed by the Senate to rule the republic in times of emergency (see Roman dictator and justitium).

Eating ice cream, in a sense, makes your body think it is dehydrated, and in a sense, I suppose it is. This is one of the reasons that diabetics are thirsty all the time. Diabetes causes high blood glucose, and that increased concentration of blood solutes makes the diabetic feel thirsty. In short: It's the salt.

Did you know that glue is a solid that is dissolved in a solvent. As the solvent evaporates, the solid sets. If the solution is not exposed to the air, the solvent will not evaporate, and the glue will remain fluid. Glue will stick to the bottle if exposed to the air and the really clever thing about hippos is that they produce their own sunscreen, in the form of a sticky reddish sweat. It has told Nature magazine the oily secretion is made up of two unstable pigments - one red, the other orange.

Spam is a canned precooked meat product made by the Hormel Foods Corporation, first introduced in 1937. The labeled ingredients in the classic variety of Spam are chopped pork shoulder meat, with ham meat added, salt, water, modified potato starch as a binder, sugar, and sodium nitrite as a preservative.
