Manly Art Gallery & Museum reviews
48 Always a fantastic collectio of top art. Eternally interesting and wonderful location. Staff are helpful and welcoming.
As someone else mentioned, the ceramic collection is astonishing, but unfortunately totally uncurated and crowded in a back room.
Well worth a regular visit. One of 3 associated galleries.
Manly Dam exhibition on. Interesting collaboration between artist and water management.ceramic collection interesting too. Booklet explaining the pieces. Staff friendly and knowledgeable.
Good tourism venue and constantly changing displays make it a worthwhile place to check out. I'd love to see it expand!
A wonderful space and the current exhibition is fantastic. Love the ceramics collection and the people working there are great.
A loverly quiet space to visit to see local exhibitions and artists work. The council really needs to resuscitate that whole area near the aquarium, what a shame it all sits derelict.
Robust collection for such a small space. If you're stopping into Manly Wharf to make your way to the beach, grab a bite and check this place out before hiking beach side. The art is a mix of photography, paintings, charcoals, mixed media, and pottery. Best of all? It's free so it's no ding to your pocket even if you don't find the art to suit your liking.
Worth a visit. Some interesting work on view, from painting to pottery and handcrafted jewelry. Very friendly and welcoming
Good variety of exhibitions, 2 - 3 at a time, changeing every 6 weeks or so, often featuring local/s. Marvellous location!
It's convenient off the ferry along the beach away from the crowd. It's beautifully laid out. It's large and welcoming and it's free. The exhibition changes often.
Most enjoyable time.
The exibits were very interesting we have very creative and artistic people in Australia. And its free.
Nice local artists with a lovely atmosphere. The place is very well maintained and artists are changed regularly.
This gallery is a hidden gem. It's tucked away on the West Esplanade about 200 m from Manly Wharf. They have a fantastic collection with great examples of Streeton and Roberts.
Sensational art on display. Valerie Taylor, the legendary deep sea diver and shark ecologist was giving a talk about her new book which she illustrated.
If you want to add some culture to your beach while in Manly, head to Manly Gallery on Western Esplanade. Entrance is free and there are regular artwork exhibitions on programme throughout the year. Easily accessible art in a beautiful location!
Dynamic and relevant programs, workshops and exhibitions. The regional galleries are kicking goals and Manky is fabulous. Supportive of local schools also.
If your over at Manly it's worth a visit, gallery display of local artists. Might be your cup of tea. It's not the round building to the left of the picture it's the smaller building to the right
The gallery looks small but it's in fact quite large. I was surprised by the quality of exhibitions too.
The Manly Art Gallery and Museum is a unique and treasured gem on the beautiful Northern Beaches. It always has interesting, beautifully mounted and curated exhibitions thanks to its highly professional and dedicated staff and loyal volunteers. It's location and the views of the Harbour beach and ferry wharf are unbeatable. In addition to temporary exhibitions MAGM boasts a permanent collection of art and objects relating to the district that are fascinating culturally.
A visit is highly recommended, preferably by coming in a ferry to Manly and strolling under the pines to this free and amazing little Gallery and Museum.
Three rooms that are on same level. Good surrounds. Exhibits their collection of small sculpture and pottery upstairs in cabinets. Lovely atmosphere
