Manilla Paragliding reviews
15One of the world's best places for XC paragliding. Ground level of ~400m ASL combined with cloudbase of 3000m on a good day allows for opportunities to beat your personal best.
Best flying site in Australia with great XC potential. Options of camping or renting a cabin available.
Had an amazing experience today. Karl gave my wife and myself each a fantastic tandem ride. I cannot recommend Manilla Paragliding enough. Fantastic value.
Attended the pg2 paragliding course. Was a great time with great instructors. Best place near Sydney go!
I came here never having touched a paraglider and I left feeling like part of a big family.
Amazing instructors, safety is always number one here but everyone just lives and breaths paragliding and is so open and excepting of your previous experiences and what you want out of the sport.
Whether you come here as a start of your paragliding career or just for a one off epic holiday, its completely worth it.
Also the amount of returning students and flyers from around the country that drop in goes to show the quality of this place.
Thank you Godfrey and team and see you all again soon!
Just went to watch, be warned the road is four wheel drive only even in dry weather. No signs to warn that anywhere
Pretty amazing paraglider & hanglider sport to learn as well as on of Australia's prime Cross Country flying locations, run by Godfrey's school Manilla Paragliding.
Beautiful place, awesome scenery
great people, good energy
a place where paragliders pilgrim to
The best place to learn to Paraglide in Australia, if not the world. I can not recommend highly enough! The instuction is second to none and the value for money is excellent.
I spent a week at Manilla Paragliding in November of 2020 as a very low hour PG2 pilot. The biggest advantage of Mt Borah for flying is the ability to launch in almost all wind directions. The launch areas are clear and forgiving, and the landing areas are suitable for novices also. As long as it's not too windy, you can fly most days. The camping facilities are nothing flash, but they're cheap and right at the base of the mountain. Hosts are friendly and helpful. I can't wait to get back out there.
We went out to have a look at the paragliding Manila paragliding unfortunately it was quite windy and there was nobody out paragliding. We had a look around at the training room and the cabins and the tents they have a swimming pool. We had a talk to Carl Who is a caretaker at the paragliding.we had to talk to him for a little while I quite enjoyed listening to his stories and what he had to say. It is not very far from Tamworth and I reckon it’s well worth the drive to go and have a look at them paragliding off the hill sometimes they won’t be paragliding but it’s still worth the trip thank you Carl for looking after us while we were there and I quite enjoyed having a look around from MWH
Great flying school and great flying site. I did my first 100km cross country there and have been coming back to Godfrey for years now for equipment and advice.
The training provided by Godfrey is fantastic. The weather was well strong would be an understatement
Only place you are going to get to touch a cloud. Tandem or teaching Godfrey and his whole team will take you from the ground to the Clouds you just have to come.
FlyManilla, I am impressed, the place far exceeded my expectations. I enrolled into the PG2 course never having touched a paraglider in my life.
But the end of the course, I was in the air chasing Thermals 1700 Mtrs in just a week and a half and trust me, it was not just me, everyone from the batch was flying high.
Thanks to Godfrey, an amazing coach, a well-structured program and the knowledge transfer was just astounding. And you won’t believe if I say, they had the latest and safest gliders to learn in with the best instructions, Can’t go wrong there.
The team that Godfrey has was outstanding as well, Bob, Karl, Diogo and many others…
Bob is a silent person, but the saying goes, “when Bob speaks, you listen with all ears” because he talks when it is important (also FYI he owns a plane hehe: -p).
Karl is equally knowledgeable and is also a person who can talk (sensibly) to any topic you can throw at him, is the essence that keep the batch and team Motivated and together, And the stories he has are never ending never a dull moment with him… love them all.
Diogo, a great visiting instructor and a lot of fun to be around. Loved you Diogo, was awesome having you around and guiding us from the ground, keeping us safe. A fun loving and a light hearted bloke, and fly’s like a kite…
Together they made it happen for me and the rest of the guys I was with, all smiles to the end…
All in all, I can say that the 10 days were some of the best of my life, would not hesitate to recommend the Godfrey and the school.
Would say worth every penny and every second… well spent.
If you are planning to get into the sport this would be the best starting point, you will not be disappointed.
Thank you Godfrey and team, will be seeing you all again soon.
