I had a flat that needed finding and repairing. I stuck my head in on the off chance. Not only did they make the time (busy though they were) the timing was perfect, the price was more than fair. And the service was top notch.
If you’re in need of tyres or service, I would recommend this place highly.

We took our car 4 times because they told us that they had to make some repairs, apart from charging us a lot, they agreed to call us to tell us when they would have the missing part of the car which never happened, so we decided to take it to another mechanic and we were surprised to find that it had many imperfections that were never evidenced with their inspections.
The attendants are nice people but they never have time to answer all the questions and they are not clear about what to do.

Rubbish service.
Dee, the woman was condescending and rude. They gave me a list of things to fix/replace for a pink slip and a quote for over $1000. I replaced everything on the list they then weren’t happy I didn’t spend $1000 with them she ran down who’d done the work before asking me who had done it, a family member and she just laughed at me, they made me get another tyre after I’d replaced the two they’d previously told me. “Go get that replaced and we’ll put you through” (also trying to convince me there were such things as left hand and right hand tyres) which I did and upon returning she smiled and laughed at me “we do tyres here you know”.
Won’t be going back.
There is no need to be rude to people.

Demolished the clutch on the beach in our Hilux while on holidays at Crescent Head with a day left on New Year’s Eve Saturday to sort out. These guys went well beyond what I’ve experienced with mechanical workshops, particularly being away from home and susceptible to the tourist holiday pricing. New Year’s Eve Saturday, no HD clutch In Kempsey no couriers so they drive 2 hours to source 1 and then work until after 6 to get us on the road and all without taking advantage. Thanks Dee, Ross and Giani we appreciate what you have done for us and will be letting everyone know,

I have an issue recently with my car not engaging into 4wd and I was 4hrs from home caravanning. I called the team at Macleay valley auto's and they made time for me to come in straight away and have a tech look over the vehicle. Efficient and cheap mechanics, honest too, one time they didn't even charge because they said it was an easy fix. But they do often have a long wait time to get in, so sometimes I go elsewhere.

I am so grateful to Dee and Ross and the whole crew at Macleay Valley Automotive, who all worked with great efficiency and were so friendly and totally saved me on a recent road trip. Even though it was late in the afternoon, and I didn't have an appointment (I had broken down nearby), the guys got me back on the road in an hour or so and I couldn't believe how reasonable the cost was. Because of Macleay Valley Automotive I was able to get back to Sydney that evening.

Fantastic and friendly service, had a chip in my windscreen and they fixed it on the spot for me.

We got stuck in Kempsey unknowingly towing an unregistered van. Dee and the staff fitted us in that day for a blue slip for the caravan. They went above and beyond to help us out and get us on our way to our family holiday. Thank you so very much for all your help, you’re the best!

They installed an air conditioning compressor and the labour charge ended up at HALF the estimate! Johnny just said it was easier than expected. You can't buy that kind of integrity. Highly recommended.
