Maccallum Seawater Pool reviews
48The pool is in a nice neighbourhood with nice houses and the pool was also clean. The view of the city is fantastic especially right after the sunset.
Perfect views of the Opera House and Harbor Bridge. Parking is a bit tricky as it’s near residential areas. Perfect place for NYE as well.
Maccallum Pool, on the western side of Cremorne Point, is a unique harbourside pool with heritage character and superb views. Its waterside timber deck is an unparalleled sun bathing spot - especially on winter afternoons. There was a few people enjoying the sun on a winter day, the views of the harbour Bridge and Opera house add to experience I saw 2 large havy ships go past
I would highly recommend this pool both for a swim and as a day out! Please be mindful to check on the council website if the pool is closed for cleaning or not prior to heading over. This pool has a stunning view of the harbour bridge and opera house and is not too busy if you go before or after work on a weekday. I would highly recommend this pool for a quick dip and some time to relax.
Simply the best rock pool in North Sydney I've ever been to. Great view on the Sydney harbour, proper size with 33m long and nice walk there from the Cremorne Point reserve park.
Cute little pool with a great view of the opera house and the Harbor Bridge, good for a quick dip in hot summer day.
Hidden gem. Take a picnic, set up under a tree up top and make a day of it. Remember to ha e your swimmers on. There are no change rooms.
What a pleasant surprise you find this gorgeous spot/view/pool. With a nice walk along the way.
Nice view over the city and opera house. It's flooded with salt water and not so deep, so also suitable for families with small kids. Good sunset as well.
No toilets at that places, but not to far away.
Great pool, great location. Fe there early on a sunny day if you want to hang around to sunbake by the pool
Went on a Friday afternoon in May after a lovely 21 degree day, only 1 other swimmer and two people working on their laptops. Lovely place to catch the afternoon sun while admiring the view of the Opera House and Harbour Bridge. So lucky to have free facilities like this!
Arrive early in the morning if you want easy parking. Sit on the corner southeast facing as it will have sun. The other side can get very cold. Not big enough to do good laps but decent enough for a cheeky swim.
Nice public pool:) just shallow in one part and get a little bit dirty by the cleaning day (due to rain/falling leaves)
Public pool, but no chlorine. It is a salt pool, so it's good for the skin. If you go when it's raining, there won't be too many others and you can do laps (for fitness' sake!). Not a place to do bomb dives on a sunny day when lots of others are around.
Tiny but lovely secluded pool right on the harbour. Accessible via a 10 min walk through parkland bush with views of the harbour. Can see Bridge from the pool. It has a nice wooden deck for sunbathing. Might be about 25m long so not suited for serious lap swimmers especially if there are others in the pool. But great for a chill-out.
Visited the pool in early April. Super view of the Opera House and Harbour Bridge, water perfect temperature for a swim after the long walk to get here. No cafe hence no Sunday morning brunch crowd and pool relatively empty. A lovely Sunday morning swim.
Sea pool, with lovely harbour and city views. Can get crowded in summer, and whilst the pool is filtered, it is only infrequently maintained.
Amazing location the pool is nice and reasonably maintained. There are no toilets or change rooms connected to the pool. There is an outside shower on the side wall of a closed hut. The nearest toilets are at the ferry wharf which is not really close to the pool. This pool is not suitable for people with mobility issues and is not wheel chair accessible. A chair could be wheeled down the pathway but would have to be carried down some narrow steep stairs to get to the pool. I have a mild mobility issue and found this pool challenging to get to but worth the effort.
Great little free family friendly swimming spot, a 15 minute walk/ferry from the city!
LOCATION: Car access, some street parking, although it can be tough to get some close by on the weekends. Also right near Cremorne Point Wharf, with ferries leaving on a regular basis. Trip from the city only costs a few dollars.
SURROUNDS: Gorgeously maintained gardens, large leafy coverage for those hot days. Perfect for picnics. Nice little playground for the kids and some picnic tables in the area and a headland you can walk to the end of, with a cute little lighthouse.
ACCESSIBILITY: Toilets are wheelchair friendly, in terms of ground access but super small. The pool has stairs going down to it. Although you could wheel down to look at the pool (a few people have prams on the weekends up on grass at the top). The depth isn't too deep and there's a super shallow end and large stairs sightly immersed in the water, suitable for toddlers etc.
Overall would recommend, for a salt water ocean pool dip work a great tanning/letting around deck and will be back.
