Loulou Bistro, Boulangerie & Traiteur reviews
43 I’ve been to Loulou a few times now, in small groups, and always loved it (the Lower North Shore needs more places like this!).
Dined solo in the bar area tonight with access to the full menu and wine list. Food was awesome and the staff were fantastic. Special mention to Tom The Somm whose recommendations were spot on!
Will be back again. Soon.
My sister in law took me here for a wonderful birthday lunch.
Service was 5 star as they amazed us from the moment we stepped in till the time we exited. All staff carried a professional and authentic approach.
The dishes tasted as good as they were plated. Attention to detail was on point.
The experience in this restaurant proved it really is how people/situations make us feel. That leaves the lasting impression.
My rating 5/5
After a quick visit in Wendy’s beautiful garden, me & my daughter in law found a nice French Bistro. After travelling in so many countries & having a better half who is lover of soupy food.this place was a blessing for me. Enjoyed thoroughly the grilled octopus, escargot vol au vent & the delicious strawberry cake. Will be coming with my son on 10 January as he is a foodie too. Plating was top notch & service superb. Visiting card also very artistic… hope to have more French food & wine at the Paris Olympics 2024
Had a wonderful lunch and then my partner had a medical emergency. The staff of LouLou were exceptional - caring and helpful. Thank you
Slice of France right here in North Sydney. Food is amazing and the service warm. Definitely worth a visit.
Loulou Bistro is a great place to catch up with friends, or have an intimate dinner for two; the layout works for vibrancy or privacy. The wine menu is fabulous, as exceptional as the service! I would have to say it's one of the Lower North Shore's best restaurants.
Lou Lou is a little bit of everything. It’s a little cafe/restaurant, and bakery, as well as a little French convenience store (?). I think most people come for the pastries, which sell out quite quickly. If you’re coming for an almond croissant, make sure to come early. However, their hazelnut croissant was also very good - texture and taste wise.
The vibe here is very good and probably another reason why so many people come here. It feels quite authentic and sophisticated or chic without being too pretentious.
The staff here… weren’t that great. The lady wasn’t really paying attention and even when I tried to ask her a question, she wasn’t very open to answering. Honestly, I almost left without buying anything because of how I felt the service was.
Overall, the food quality seems high, particularly the pastries (fresh and well made), but the staff aren’t that great. I’d prefer to go somewhere that has good food and makes you feel welcome…
The food, service and ambience at Loulou's is the best! We had a large group for lunch so we had the set menu which I have had before. It includes what is in my opinion the best dish on the entire menu - the john dory - amazing! And the chicken which I would not normally order but was super excited to be able to have as it part of the set menu. The service was excellent too - your staff are amazing! Thank you!
Staffs were friendly. But this is what was in my iced latte.i was holding it the whole time so if the fly flied in after i bought it i would have saw it. I believe this was already in the ice cube and i only realized after drinkin half of it (after the ice melted) which is very disgusting: (
Having tried the pastries from the bakery, we really looked forward to dining at Loulou restaurant.
We were underwhelmed by the dining experience. Food was average and service was lacking and disappointing.
I have been to LouLou’s for breakfast, but went here for dinner for the first time the other week to celebrate a special occasion. We love the fit-out and vibe of LouLou’s and the staff were very attentive. The food was delicious. The only quibble was that the wine came to the table served in glasses already, rather than poured in front of us.
Really, really enjoyed our dinner here the other night! The fit-out has been done really well, our server Milla was super friendly and helpful, and the food was delicious.
We started with a couple of cocktails (Lou Lou and Cammomile Margarita), followed by the ocean trout confit for entree and steak frites for main. Everything was delicious, but the steak in particular was er 'ow you say, magnifique.
We finished with the Bomb Alaska and Creme Caramel for dessert, both of which were amazing!
Highly recommend.
Well it was very pleasant to be back to Lou Lou's and have a great experience including their lovely post dining email, well done for turning things around!
Grabbed a few baked items and baguettes for a picnic in the park. Totally rated these items. My husband had a jamon & Gruyère baguette and said it was one of the best things he’d eaten in 12 months. Loved the texture of the pork and fennel sausage roll. The pastries were awesome as well. Will definately visit again when we are on that side of the bridge next! Merci
Absolutely divine! I dined at Loulou in occasion of my wedding anniversary and I couldn’t choose better venue. The staff were friendly and attentive from the initial greeting to the goodbyes. The Manager acknowledged our anniversary which made us feel special on our special day. Menu was explained in details by knowledgeable staff which is a plus as most of it had some French words that I wouldn’t understand otherwise.
From the bread (baked next door daily) to the dessert each dish was just amazing. Potatoes Dauphines, Steak Tartare, Chicken Parfait and John Dory Farci were the highlights. I am honestly looking forward to dine at Loulou again soon with friends and try some more dishes.
Well done!
Beautiful shop and high quality pastries, really feels like being transported to France and just looking at the cabinet is a visual feast. But the service didn't match on this occasion (which, hilariously, adds to the French 'immersion'). The printed price didn't match what I was being charged at the till and when I pointed it out, there was no correction. It was only a dollar but it's how staff respond in little moments like these which set the tone.
Had a memorable lunch at Loulou!
The produce was really fresh everything was delicious.
The highlights being the John Dory which was cooked to perfect - still moist and just translucent.
The Beef tartare was served with potato crisps and was well seasoned
The pea tart was actually much larger than we expected and the tart itself was so buttery and complimented the filling.
The Steak Frittes was tender and the Asparagus was a perfect side.
Also picked up some pate and baguette next door for a friend who devoured it in minutes.
The 3.9 * almost threw me off booking. Don't let that happen!
Everything was amazing, attentive and friendly service. Highly recommend the steak tarte, almost had to order it twice! Will be back!
The food, atmosphere and decor were great.however the Sommelier was sadly so arrogant and rude, that I felt the need to give a one star review.
On arrival, a lovely staff member gave us our menus, including a wine list. I enquired if they happened to have any non-alcoholic wines, and she was she didn't believe they did but she would go and check. Shortly afterwards, the Sommelier came up to our table, and looked directly at me and without even a "hello" or "good evening" abruptly said "I will NEVER EVER have non-alcohol wines on MY wine list". It was a completely unnecessary reaction to a simple question. When I tried to explain why I was asking, he cut me off and shrugged me off and then left without even taking the (alcoholic) wine order from my friends.
When one of my friends at the table later enquired about a Chablis and pointed to something on the wine list and asked him "What does that mean? ", his response was condescending in tone - "That's not for you to worry about. "
The table he seemed most interested in was the group next to us who had bought their own wine and own wine glasses!
Sadly the experience with the Sommelier put a bad taste in my mouth (pun intended!).
Great atmosphere, delicious food, especially the flat iron steak. Our waitress Louise gave us amazing suggestions and a fabulous service.
