Lotus The Galeries reviews
80We had a wonderful family dinner in the private dining room at Lotus. The service was very attentive and the food was amazing. We loved it!
We had the pleasure of dining on 30/12/23. Our food and waitstaff were exquisite. We would’ve liked a little more variety on the menu. We will dine again. Thankyou, JC Newcastle NSW
The food overall was overpriced, quite average and nothing to write home about. Spicy calamari were somewhat enjoyable, but only once like packet of chips, a bit too much flavouring. The soft shell crab portion was small with lots of cheap tasting tomato sauce from a bottle. With the duck fried rice you would need a good macro lens to find the actual duck. You could probably get a better one for 1/3 of a price in a foodcourt nearby.
The wait staff were nice and attentive, but the payment process took too long with some mistakes and unprofessional attitude. Not the place I would be back to.
Delicious food, friendly professional staff and an affordable gem. We had lunch at the Galleries one day and dinner at Hickson Road the next. Recommended! Mark Stapleton, Glebe
A superb restaurant. Exceptional food and the staff are very friendly and engaging. This is one of my favourite places to eat in Sydney!
Great place to dine. Great interior and ambience. Food wasn’t too bad as well although it could be a bit more flavourful. We ordered:
1. Steamed half shell scallop with chilli black bean mayo and crispy wonton skin. $6.5 each (must order!)
2. Pacific oysters with finger lime, ginger and soy sauce $5.5 each (we enjoyed this)
3. Pork and prawn siumai $17 (moderate)
4. Singaporean Vermicelli noodles with prawn and charsui $32 (the least favourite out of all, tasted funny)
5. Duck fried rice $29 (cant taste the duck, but we prefer this to the vermicelli)
6. Chongqing popcorn chicken $34 (the most flavourful out of all we ordered, and tasted really nice too)
My wife bought the Liven voucher and paid using it. Got a discount of almost 50% which is a great deal. Will come back again to try more variety of food!
There was a party and the noise was insane! We can't even hear our conversations! Those people yelling and screaming! Ruined our very first dining experience! The managers didn't manage to control the noise. Obnoxious party! Management didn't care! Food was not great either.
I thought i was in the jungle! The party at the very back was too noisy! People were screaming and the management didn't care! They cant even control the noise and i can barely hear our conversations. First and last visit! Ridiculous!
The food wasn't really nice at all
Ryan and his team always provide exceptional service, Are always friendly & no request is too hard.
The food is exquisite. The food never disappoints.
The table side duck experience is very creative and tasty!
Food was ok average, but on the pricey side.
The service is poor, I had to ask for water and waited a long time to even just get the bill.
Food is ok overall. I quite enjoyed the beef and soup but bit disappointed with the pancakes for the duck
Really enjoyed the table side serving of the Peking duck, the skin was SO crispy. Aside from the duck, I would highly recommend the lamb ribs.
Amazing attitude and good recommendations regarding the food, good wine list especially suitable for Asian food,
We had a great experience on mothers day at the Galeries with Lotus and the family. Wife says try the short rib!
Great venue for a dinner party. We had the Blue Lady room to ourselves and table side duck! Thanks to the team for being so accomodating to our needs.
The best Asian food we had tasted ever. My daughter absolutely loved it. Beautiful setting and very attentive staff. We will be coming back.
Yeah. So the banquet was pretty cool. Except for the oysters. Pretty much everyone in the group that had the oysters came down with varying levels of mild food poisoning. Mine was totally worse though. I had a few of them and became violently ill, contemplating whether or not to go to the hospital at one stage. I'm no stranger to exotic foods either, and I've been to many places around the world and consumed street food eg Asia, south America etc. And never been sick. My gut is cast iron. But them oysters did me in. Soooo. The dining experience and ambience was great. The aftermath was not.
IMHO this is the best lotus - it’s a cut above the others. It has a bigger menu and the food quality is great. It’s become a regular for our team lunches and the staff is always happy to serve us well into the late afternoon.
10 out of 10, though small incident happened. One lamb dish came to the table, and I thought it was my order, so me and my family happily enjoyed our meal. Then 15 minutes after, a male manager brought the another lamb dish to the table. I realized the previous was not my order. Honestly I did not know what the dish looks like. The male manager still served us the food. I was not taking the food deliberately. Truly appreciate his kindness.
I generally enjoy dining at The Galeries, however, Lotus was disappointing. Fish, dumplings, and fried rice was mediocre and certainly not worth the price. Waiters did their job appropriately but other staff asked us inappropriate questions.
