Looksmart Alterations

Dropped off brand new dress for alteration. Picked it up and it was covered in dust and other dirt and all creased. No protective bag etc.just loose on hanger. Wanted to get it steamed and they were going to charge me an additional $20. Would not trust or recommend.

This is for the looksmart store on the ground floor (next to woolies) in Westfield.
This was my first time trying this place, I usually go to my regular tailor in the city but needed something quick and wasn't heading into the city in time.
But the guy tried to quote me $120 to take up the hem of a dress (no lining) hahaha
I get heaps of my clothes tailored all the time, I know how much each type of alterations is supposed to cost. Even with the premium of being located inside a Westfield at the junction, the guy was clearly just trying to rip me off.
I told him no thanks, I know how much it's supposed to cost and he tried to negotiate and ask me how much I wanted to pay. How ridiculous, you should have a standard price for everyone based on the type of alteration (level of difficulty, no of hours required, material involved etc).
So I went out of my way to go into the city and back to my usual tailor on 72 Pitt st and it only cost $50.

And based on the other reviews here, I'm very glad I didn't end up taking a chance on this place cause it looks like they wouldn't have done it in time or done a good job of it anyway

Excellent service I was here to have a button attached to my jacket and they did it straight away. Friendly and efficient

Too long to alter garments. Customer service is just average. All the glitz and glamor of how good/quick they are when you walk in doesn’t apply once they have your garments. Prices are expensive. I’d avoid this location and go see someone away from bondi junction for a more reasonable price.

My alterations were not completed at the agreed date as staff had been sick during the week. While I understand sick leave can’t be helped, no one called to inform of the delay for the week they had my clothing so alternative arrangements could be made. The shop upstairs saved the day, much better price too.

The Lady at the front desk is an amazing designer and all the professionals do a great job. Highly recommended for all different types of alterations:)

Perfect place to get your evening wear altered. Looks exactly like the original finishing. Got my dress altered sooner than expected too. Efficient service. Highly recommend.

They were SO quick! I was in a rush and didn’t think I’d find anywhere to get my new pants taken up before I went away but they turned it around in 15 mins. Highly recommend

Excellently detailed work done very quickly. Welcoming customer service. I’m genuinely surprised with the poor reviews. Not my experience at all. The price is higher than pre-pandemic, but happy to pay for an expensive suit jacket to be done well.

I sent in a dress with a lot of work to be done and they did an amazing job. I’ll definitely come back for any other alterations in the future

Worst experience, 1 star feels like an exaggeration. Horrible service and a bad job done. Handed in three nice suits, they didn’t do what I asked them to and when I told them they didn’t offer me any solution except for me to pay more AND go to Spotlight and buy the fabric myself. They didn’t give me any discount on the bad job they had done and as I paid in advance I could not get any of the money back and now have to go somewhere else to clean up their mess and pay again. Would not recommend to anyone.

Rude and incompetent staff - I asked basic questions about a service and had garments snatched out of my hand, talked over when trying to ask questions, plus eye-rolling - unbelievable - stay well clear.
