LOAM Surry Hills reviews
17All the food was delicious, the atmosphere was calm, and the staff were always attentive, which was great.
We had a great dinner here. The lamb was delicious and the vibes were just right. Our waitress was very attentive and helpful.
The food is amazing. The service was excellent. The waitress was friendly and helpful. Be mindful of the air-conditioning in case you are more sensitive.
LOAM was exceptional. Clean green plate, shishito peppers, avocado cracker plate - all delicious. Service by Shivani was attentive and very professional. We will be back.
Love love love this place! The hotel has the same kinda vibe as the NYC one just not as busy as that one. I’m sure different at night time! The food and wine at the restaurant were amazing! We had the lobster pasta, green salad, brussels and the octopus/chorizo and all are highly recommended!
Wish I took photos but we scoffed it way too fast
I had the fish with curry sauce. It came worth no rice and sides. The curry sauce seemed to be out of a bottle. I asked for rice but the waiter said the kitchen was closed (it was 2pm) so gave me some bread (which he charged me for). For $44 it was terrible value. The fish fillet was tiny. The dish was lukewarm. The restaurant Airconditioner was so cold I couldn’t wait to get out of there. The worst thing was there were a whole lot of fruit flies flying around. The room itself is lovely. It’s part of the Ace hotel which is also great. This may have been a one off bad experience but it put me off going back to the restaurant again during my stay.
Overpriced and average quality. The bread was stale and the lobster linguini (@$44 a pop) reminded me of canned spaghetti. The Shiraz was disappointing at $20 a glass… just all round not worth it.
Food was great, especially the superfood pasta, but portion size of the octopus was a bit sad (only one tentacle). Service was extremely poor, the waitress we had was too attentive (if that’s even a thing), going to take our food away when we clearly had lots of food left, we sat chatting for a bit before we knew our drinks and were asked 4+ times if we wanted drinks, the more senior waitress tried to obviously (and awkwardly) upsell is on snacks whilst we were choosing drinks. The worst part was the consistent hovering and staring by our waitress, she would walk and stop right behind our table whilst we were in the middle, seeing if we had any empty plates she could hastily remove? So strange and made us feel really uncomfortable.
Excellent service, food & cocktails all round. The team here are tentative to your needs, so, thank you. We came from Coffs for a pre theartre dinner with our great Nieces & I returned a night after for a solo dinner before my flight back the following day. Great place to hang after in the bar once the show is over.
Didn't enjoy 5 out of our 6 dishes. Bread rolls were rock hard seemed like they were more than a day old.
Dissatisfied
Service and food 10+/10 - special shoutout to Kieran and the rest of the team for making the experience absolutely bangin.
I’ve eaten here a few times now. It really is a fantastic venue. Menu is great, staff are lovely and having the lobby bar right there allows you to extend your outing with a cocktail before or after. Love it!
We had a great time and all team members had a good experience with the food and service. Specially we have to mention staff member- Lidia was very helpful and pleasant in her customer service.
Amazing. Beautiful interiors, friendly and classy vibe. Loved the breakfast here -although portions look small, they were quite filling. I would recommend the savoury waffle and the almond flat bread. Coffee was good. They have high chairs available and enough pram space. Loved it
New restaurant in town.
Service was sublime. The staff is very lovely and friendly.
Food was delicious. We ordered pretty much everything from the menu.
My favourite ones were octopus and sirloin steak? Soooo good!
The place itself is very nice and comfortable. We were able to talk to each other from one side of the table to the other side. Background music not loud at all.
You can go with your dog if you stay at the front part.
A new place to go.
This was our second dinner here & overall we had a fun time & an excellent meal. We brought friends with us & they loved it, which is great. For my husband & I however, the overall experience was just too loud, right from the beginning at the bar having drinks. It was 7pm yet it felt like 11pm - the music was way too heavy & loud, and all it did was ramp up the decibels from the chatter around us competing with the music.
I went to check where our table was, hoping it was further away from the DJ, & the Maitre D said don’t worry we have you over there at the island table. Phew I thought. But, it turned out the speakers were directly above that table, so it made for a very loud dinner as well, which just doesn’t work.
It was a cold night, and we were surprised to find no cloak room & nowhere to hang our coats, so we had to sit on them instead - not the most comfortable outcome.
Our food was delicious - as expected. But the wine was a new experience. The first bottle of wine we ordered wasn’t cold enough. We’ve not had organic wine before, and unfortunately did not enjoy the next 2 bottles. Our waitress was an absolute star - she was ever so patient and handled our guests extremely well given they were the ones who were doing the ordering. I had to wait forever for my kombucha, the bar was extremely busy. Service overall was a tad patchy - there seem to be enough staff, just not as switched on as they could be, but we’re hopeful they will learn fast.
