Had lunch and wine during the week here. Loved it - make sure you book during the week as they may not be open. Perfect location and outlook - accommodation looks inviting.

Nice people but very ordinary service, blamed on school holidays but there were no kids, and really how much trouble is it to serve a wine tasting. Maybe they thought that we were unlikely to buy wine… mistake… Sorry can’t recommend as only tried 3 wines in well over 1.5hrs. We tried…

Beautiful venue, attentive staff and first class food. Definitely a must if you are looking for fine dining. Complimentary bread with balsamic and oil, cod mousse presented on a serving spoon and a lovely sorbet at the end of the meal.

Was really looking forward to this but the food and the atmosphere really let my girlfriend and I down (service was decent though). Went with the 3 course had the kingfish and the bug as entrees, they both lacked basic flavour which did not set up the rest of the meal well, went for the dry aged rib on the bone which was cooked medium rare and was decent, desert was caramel bombe alaska which was nice but still nothing amazing. Overall for what we paid (had a few glasses of wine of course) and what I have read about the restaurant I was quite let down by what we received.

We had lunch and a tasting here at the cellar door over the weekend and had the most wonderful experience all the staff were extremely lovely and so knowledgeable. Food and wines were beautiful we will 100% be back again.

It was a fantastic experience, great wine selection with the option to get some food to match the wine. We had a cheese board that was the perfect combo.

What a fabulous find in the Hunter Valley, from the friendly welcoming attentive staff, to the amazing food that beats any famous chef in Sydney’s you won’t be disappointed, put it on your list. Once you experience Leogate nothing else compares in the Hunter. Congratulations to all, we will be back!

Unfortunately I chose this place for my birthday & was so disappointed with the expensive lackluster experience.whilst the steaks were good, the rest of the food was tasteless. We gave this feedback on the day and the staff didn’t do anything about it (eg “I’ll grab the manager” as well as gave on email in a kind way proactive way but with no response still, I am posting my disappointment here.
It feels like we just ripped up $450 into little pieces now.
It’s rarely the thing that happens but how it’s dealt with and this deserves 1 star as a result.

We had only ever experienced their food before (outstanding… i still dream about the bomb alaska), but having a tasting recently with Emily was amazing. Her knowledge and love for what she does enhances the tasting experience! 10/10 all round and we absolutely will return!

Troy was absolutely amazing, he talked to each member of the group and worked out what we might like and personalised our tasting based on our preferences. He was lovely and personable and very helpful. I would recommmend visiting Leogate, especially if Troy is your wine host.

We chose to eat here to celebrate our 15 year wedding anniversary and we were not disappointed. One of our best fine dining experiences. From the time we walked in to the service and knowledge of the menu. Timing of meals was spot on. Every course was amazing and the dry aged steak was the best I've had. Definitely will recommend this venue.

John and I had 3 nights in a lovely new villa at Leogate Wine Villas.
Great view from large covered deck positioned overlooking Brokenback Mountains, working vineyard and pond. Incredible sunset photos. Beautifully appointed modern villa, large modern bathroom, very good continental breakfast pack, complimentary snacks and drinks in mini bar, and topped off with a beautiful complimentary bottle of their own red, which we enjoyed on the deck at sunset. So very quiet and peaceful. Thank you to the very helpful and friendly front desk staff. We can't wait to return again early next year.

Thanks to all the staff at the wine tasting.
My experience was excellent.
Michelle explained the wines in great detail, She was relaxed, engaging, and very pleasant. Our guests from WA signed up to the wine club and we’re equally impressed.
Well done Leogate!

Just had the 5 course degustation here and we were not that impressed with the service standard and the freshness of the food preparation. For $110/head, I would expect a lot more.

Firstly - for table settings, they put all 4 sets of cutlery out at the same time so they didn’t have to reset between courses. This is unheard of in a degustation setting - especially with a small table? Vibe ruined.

Next - they had music playing from Spotify but THERE WERE ADS. It only costs about $13/month to get a premium account. Listening to Maccas ads in a beautiful setting seems contrary to the experience design.

Lastly - the food was not flavourful, average at best. Many shortcuts, including precut and pre-prepared salad vegetables that didn’t look fresh as part of the plating, the same use of decorative elements (ie.sprouts? !) across all dishes.

Service was pleasant but completely perfunctory.

Fabulous selection of wines, especially chardonnay and shiraz, accompanied by some cheese and crackers. Great service and nice setting. Put them on your Hunter Valley bucket list!

My partner and I went here to pick up some of their rosé and decided to stay for a wine tasting. Charles (?) was amazing! Stepped us through so many wines and catered to our limited knowledge on wine. Such a beautiful estate, with great wines and amazing service!

We went to Leogate for lunch in March 2021 and what can I say? What a stunning location. The food and wine was sensational. Value for money for both. John was so accommodating. He was helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. Everyone went out of their way to make sure we had a great experience. Lunch was so good we went back the next day for wine tasting. Again, the service was second to none. We were sat at an outside table and the view was perfect. Again the staff from the cellar door were fantastic and knowledgeable. I would thoroughly recommend Leogate for the restaurant and cellar door
