This isn’t what happened, sorry.

I went in on the 18th and said ‘Hey I need some work done asap next week but I assume your electricians are pretty flat out for a while? ’ Was told ‘No, actually they caught up with all their work over Christmas. The person I spoke with then said ‘it’s a quick job, they should be able to do Monday afternoon, I’ll just check with — (name forgotten). ’ He then came out re confirmed between ‘1-3 pm Monday and wrote down a booking. This was confidently assured not a ‘maybe’. I was pleasantly surprised and agreed to see then then. I would never have agreed to a ‘maybe’ as I was on a schedule with painting.

No one showed up on Monday so I called and was told the below mentioned. Then I was told by receptionist that he would go in early next day to communicate with the electrician himself and let me know what was happening I told him I would likely be booking someone else if they couldn’t come Tuesday’ To me that meant I would be called start of business hours. When I wasn’t called I called around midday and was told ‘nah they’re too busy and said it’s probably a good idea to get someone else but if you can’t then we can ‘*maybe* come Thursday. ’ I thanked him for calling and immediately booked someone else for Wednesday morning. Wednesday afternoon was called again by larkins to see if I had found someone else (appreciated…) to which I confirmed I had.

I’m not blaming anyone in particular, things happen but please, I’m not randomly complaining.the review feature is here for a reason.
A better communication system is clearly needed as it isn’t the first time I have experienced it. People are busy and if given a specific day and time range we WILL expect you to show up and will arrange our day around it.
Again, quality of work was excellent in my past experience. No complaints there.

They happily took on an accepted a small job I wanted done and then neither showed up bothered to call me. When I called at the end of the day they made excuses for their electricians and basically gave very little apology. They said they’d call me the next day to confirm whether they can come. No call, I had to call them only to get a lazy ‘nah. They’re flat out’.
Just say ‘No we can’t take on your job’ or ‘we aren’t interested in small jobs’ or at the very least be honest that you may or may not show up. That way we can hire someone interested in the job. Don’t schedule a day and time and then totally disrespect your customers time and make excuses of ‘more urgent work’. That doesn’t excuse not letting the customer know. You aren’t fire fighters.

Not my first bad experience with them.
Their work if they show up is quality and they’re friendly enough and have a nice shop too but communication and customer value is lazy.

The work was of good standard but their customer relations is terrible. They didn’t communicate any aspect with me. Showed no interest in helping me decide what product to get or would be suitable, didn’t let me know when the were coming just arrived on the door step when I was busy but lucky at home and didn’t tell me about hidden costs. First bill arrived in the post I paid it then the second without explanation and because they “ left things out of the first “. I questioned the cost over $2000 for two power points two light fixture put up and a solar light put up. Lights not included in the bill just work. They didn’t bother to get back to me just demanded the second payment. When I questioned this a tirade of information and justification including a threat to increase the bill and irrelevant banter about what work truck they use.

Like a previous review I had the same problem only I waited for close to 4 months, I rang many times, they always assured me that they would be coming, I believed them as I could understand they were busy, and the floods added to their work load.
In the end it has become obvious that they were just leading me on. Not necessary to behave like this either come or tell people you do not intend to come. I also waited for them as they are the service agent for the item I had. In the end just got it done without them.

Had a light circuit blowing fuses contacted contractor twice after 4 weeks still not fixed not even a phone call to confirm or respond to request to repair. Plenty of other electrical contractors around.

I recently had a dehumidifier cabinet die on me - and an urgent fix was very important, as it keeps moisture out of all my pro camera gear. While the unit was toast, Bill was very proactive in finding a cost-effective solution to ensure that my gear was safe. Above and beyond - highly recommended.

Great team of skilled electricians. Electricians that have experience and training and it shows. Great communication, workmanship that is of the best quality in the Tweed and Gold Coast. Not only did they solve a tech problem on one of our production lines that nobody else could, they installed new data in the office, replaced the main switchboard and mains
and installed new power points in our residence. Larkins also cleaned up and vacuumed before they left. These guys went the extra mile and they now provide 24 hour breakdown support for our factory.

We've used Larkin Electrical for all of our electrical needs in both office set ups at Kingscliff and Murwillumbah. We can't fault the Larkin team. They arrive on time as promised and get the job done in the most efficient way.

Changed all the lights in my house to LED and saved a heap on power bill. The workers were quick and efficient and cleaned up after themselves. Highly recommend.

I was doing a mancave conversion at home and had been told I need to have electrical cabling affixed to the walls. Had a conversation with Bill at Larkin Electrical and we came up with a solution to run the cabling so we could cover it over. The result is fantastic.went the extra mile 5 Stars

I have personally known Bill Larkin for nearly 2 years now. I meet regularly with Bill at a business breakfast once a week. If you have never been to Bill's store in Murwillumbah please do yourself a favour and visit as he has a great range of lights at his store. I would recommend Bill and Larkin electrical for any business owner looking for a great electrical contractor or looking to revamp their office lights. Bill is easy to deal with and takes the time to explain everything in detail.

Absolutely wonderful business. Larkin Electrical do all our commercial office electrical work, along with my own domestic work. Excellent service and knowledge, very experienced, professional at all times. They are great team who work together well, respond quickly, affordable pricing, and in the recent floods they went way above and beyond to look after us, and get our business back up and running quickly.
