Lane Cove National Park reviews
82This place is a perfect getaway for weekends with friends or family. Big space for bbq with electric gases and benches, toilets near the spot. Can also go for small hiking trail.
It was great to take a walk every morning. It takes about 3 hours (approximately 11 kilometers) to go around the whole thing. I was surprised to see so many lizards here and there. They say they don't mess around. I also met a snake. As it is a wild animal paradise, be prepared to meet various wild animals as you walk.haha It is difficult to find a restroom along the way, so be sure to stop by when you start. A bottle of water is a must!
Great place to go for a hike or even trail run. It is connected to The North Walk ttail, hence the trail goes a long way
Good walking spot, close to suburbia but all you hear are birds of many varieties. The bathrooms have been updated and are clean and actually smell fresh. The picnic areas are clean with space for many. I even saw an echidna wandering across the road the other day, so please drive slow. If you like birds, in a ten minute walk you can spot at least half a dozen, if you sit quietly even more. Wonderful place.
Good place if you need to stay in Sydney. 15 minute walk to the metro. Sights are decent size, flat if you get a slab sight. Several kitchen, bbq areas and amenities. Staff at reception are very friendly and helpful.
It was pretty amazing and a little sad to see the damage to the Weir so soon after the heavy rain and flooding that we had here. You can see from the photos that there must of been a significant amount of water running through. You can also see that it washed away some of the concrete slab and the obvious damage to the fencing that remains.
Easy to drive to and park. The weir is where the two sides of the lane cove river connect/how you cross from one side to the other when you’re walking. There are a lot of areas to sit around here and also a playground area/ picnic area nearby
It has everything from kids play area to Cafe, picnic areas, river walks, museum to everything else. Massive park along the river. Could drive ~2 km so don't rush to find a picknic place near entrance. There's a flat $8 parking fee for vehicles.
A great place to take the family out for the day.
The boatshed is great to hire a peddle boat or kayak.
Park entry is reasonable. As well as car park spaces available.
This is an awesome place for getting away from Sydney whilst you are in the middle of Sydney! Great place to kayak
The entry fee is worth it. A beautiful national park for any occasion or activity. Highly recommended
If you avoid peak times you'll see the wildlife; the water dragon and the birds. Some nice shelters, BBQ and a kids play area, but not all together. Kiosk for snacks, and educational stuff for kids
Cabin we stayed in was delightful and Clean. Park seems to be located under flight path. Didnt notice the noice after the first day! Seems planes only go over on certain days. Was still a peaceful stay and will definitely be back there again. Close to the sights of Harbour Bridge and Opera house and other major attractions. Definitely a good base to visit the sights
Can't even describe. Good for outdoor activity, boating, hiking, picnic etc etc. So many things to do here. Parking is not cheap.
Perfect p icmic destination! Multiple playgrounds for kids, serenic bushwalks, and riverwalks.loads of benches to sit and eat, and best part - boating! Nice place for a nature getaway for a day or a half
Nice walk - people have their dogs off the leash in there so if you're scared of dogs there might be a risk (but unfortunately that's the risk you run in Sydney).
Saw some skinks and tadpoles down by the creek, which my daughter liked.
Lane Cove is a lovely national Park, one of the rare ones within city with lots of parking space, so many walks, a river to walk along, so many birds and trees (lot of variety), nice Cafe for coffee or a lunch break, no need to worry about toilet breaks and ample place for kids to enjoy too. Suitable for all age groups as walks are easy to moderate and accessible easily from parking. Would definitely go back again.
A wonderful oasis of bushland & wildlife surrounded by the city.
This National Park is a sliver of bushland running along either side of the Lane Cove River.
Its free to enter for walkers and there are numerous entry paths along the course of the river.
Parking is free, but the daily vehicle entry fee is $8, no matter if you spend 15 minutes or all day. The collection of the entry fee is honesty based via parking ticket machines throughout the park, however the fine for not paying the entry fee is $1,500.
There is no option for anyone driving to visit for less than a few hours.
The daily entrance fee is waived for holders of the annual NSW National Parks multi-parks pass ($65), so regular visitors to the Lane Cove National Park would find that good value.
The common animals found in the park include water dragons, scrub turkeys, magpies & sulfur crested cockatoos.
4 stars.
Very good for BBQ -
there is a day entry fee for $8, which could be cheaper I guess.
There are kayaks and boats to hire.very gentle and smooth water.
Plenty of carpark there.
Toilets are fairly clean and close to the sites.
Definitely recommended
Feels like a million miles away. Lot sir nature that you can drive through and stop to take photos of birds and flowers or nature in general.
