Taken me a while to get down here as I've been frequenting two other city laksa joints. Must say it was worth the wait.

Broth was delicious (definitely go for medium spice) and it was overall put together well. My only gripe is that the serve could include some more egg noodles and meat.

I went early (1130am) to beat the rush and it was already pretty busy.

They have a myriad of other Malay dishes but I only came for the laksa but would like try a roti canai next time as well.

Worth the effort of you're in Sydney CBD and looking for that laksa hit.

My colleague ordered take a way Tofu Laksa today on 26 Oct 2023. Actually it was shocking laksa I've ever seen.it was around 1: 30pm, and I guess they simply added hot water to the soup as it run out. Full of noodle with little no taste soup in the bowl. I usually like laksa from this shop, and soup is usually quite thick from my memory. When the customer ordered, they should say run out the soup. My colleague told me there were more customer ordered Laksa after her. It is very much disappointed. I will not go there anymore.

I ordered Crispy Chicken Laksa and it was very tasty. However, a medium level of spice was quite spicy for me. I didn't expect that.
A bit too noisy as well but it wasn't too bad. Attaching the latest menu.

Been coming here for years, always delicious laksa and friendly staff. My favourite regular lunch spot in the city

Authentic Malaysian restaurant that has been there for years. Cheap, fast, friendly and very tasty. My yellow noodle with prawns was excellent and it has one of the best laksas in Sydney.

Portion isn't big. OK if you have to settle for something in the area. If you've had laksa @ Malay Chinese you'd hardly be impressed.

Edit - owners responded: Thank you for your feedback. If you feel the portions are inadequate feel free to let the staff know and we can adjust for you. Thank you for your visit and we appreciate your feedback.

I actually did make a complaint and the response was that the portions looked small because they started using really big bowls. Great adjustment. Adjusted from 2 star to 1 star.

The laksa here is one of the best I've had in Sydney CBD. The service is quick and no fuss. While there's sometimes a queue (because it's so good) it doesn't usually take long for a table to come free.
Highly recommended

雞肉叻沙味道濃郁,份量適中。

The chicken laksa is rich in flavor and the portion is just right.

I had not eaten there in years so as I was working nearby, I decided to buy three takeaway chicken laksas a few weeks ago. Standard price seems to be around $16 a serve but I was so disappointed in the serving size I received fior that sum. Noodles are not expensive, even with the rise in inflation. I'd be lucky if the noidles even reached a third of the noodle taeaway bowl. The separate laksa soup was also in the small container. I don't know about you, but fior the price, and for takeaway, I can usually stretch the serving into two sittings. I felt very cheated and will not buy from there again, even though the laksa soup is tasty. I am just waiting for the Ex Hunter Street, the Malay, to open in Circular Quay. Much better value to be had there for about the same price. Very disappointed in the Laksa King. I heard sitting in, the serving size is not much better.

The food: 4 from 5 stars
The service: 4 from 5 stars, very attentive and fast yet let down by their 30 minute time limit especially for 4+ larger groups (30 mins is great for 3 people or less just a bit tight for more than. Perhaps 45mins but understand and appreciate the advance signage of expectations upon entry)
Atmosphere: Buzzing

Super busy, so go early, or prepare to wait but fantastic place for Malaysian and worth it! I had the har mee, deeply satisfying soup and generous amount of meat/seafood. Everything is very efficient so might be best as takeaway if you can't manage to grab a table. The ticket system works well though.

Fast service
Good taste of duck laksa.
$18.50 for a bowl of laksa is reasonable, but your portion size are way too under size for $18.50.
Roasted duck in the laksa is about 80gm max.
Sorry guys, I am not a big eater, and i left humgry. Seriously, the portion needs to be reasonable.

Best Char Kuay Teow I've had in Sydney at a price reasonable for the Sydney CBD outside of Singapore (I am Singaporean by birth) with excellent wok hei and flavour. Have I mentioned that their chicken satay tastes better than many stalls in Singapore (sorry) and packs so much flavour that it was incredible. Combined with a delicious teh tarik, my Chinese-Malaysian colleague and I momentarily felt back at home for a moment before duty calls us back to work.

This is my favorite place to get Laksa in the CBD. I tried the fried wantons this time and they were great too. The laksa gravy was creamy and flavorful, and while I wish there were more than 2 half-pieces of puffed tofu, this place is generally generous with their noodles and sliced chicken. This laksa is the closest to my favorite laksa in Singapore, for what it’s worth!

Maybe COVID pandemic has had an impact, but extremely disappointed with the food quality, quantity and choice of ingredients.
My seafood laksa had 1 prawn, a few fishballs, fish cake, not sure if any squid in a small bowl, with mostly rice vermicelli and a few strands of hokkien mee. All this for $17.
The Hainnan Chicken Rice was half a breast with mild chicken flavoured rice and a soup that tasted more of pepper than chicken. This was $17 too.
Nasi Lemak - Beef Rendang was very sweet, plain rice not coconut rice, 1 small slice of cucumber and ikan bilis sambal was sweet. My wife could not finish it and we ordered Har Mee as well.
The Har Mee soup was thin flavoured and there was a few strands of Hokkien Mee and mostly Rice Vermicelli. I asked waitress why Har Mee had no Mee, she said rudely that is Mee as though I was stupid. I said that was Mein not Mee. She said sharply "That's how we do it"
The boss came over and said we were complaining about the Har Mee.which looked nothing like photo btw. I said that this is not Mee, he admitted it was expensive so they mixed noodles. He offered to make a new one, but I had enough of the lies and rudeness by this stage.

Never coming back again. Even papparich tastes nicer and has better quality ingredients.

Most creamy, flavourful laksa soup you'll ever have no cap. This place is goated, definitely get the lemon tea. Homemade and delish

Great place to get some authentic taste. Rush hours are quite busy but worth a try for some good food.

Can’t fault this place. Superb service and food comes out quick! Be careful with the spiciness it really gets you but the taste and seasoning of the laska is great
