Kosciuszko National Park reviews
50Wonderful place for fishing, camping, bird watching, walking and relaxing. Had the privilege of finding a pair of Platypus in the river. Just got to keep the morons out of the water with their soap and shampoo. Disrespectful attitude to nature is not appreciated.
There are 3 different routes to reach the peak of Australia's highest mountain. A spectacularly scenic hike to the top
Nice place but why do NSW need to charge so much just to visit a Nat Park, we won't be back very often
Since I live in a tropical area of Queensland visting the Kosciuszko National Park was just truly amazing and watching our children's faces seeing snow and snowflakes fall for the first time was absolutely breath taking.the staff were also super friendly and helpful
Beautiful drive no matter where you go.from Talbingo to Khancoban. It's just up. Up n more up. We left Talbingo to head Tumburumbaroad was closed at turnoff. So ended up in Khancoban first. Had the best hamburger and chips for lunch at Trev's. Beautiful little town
Not much there in shops tho stayed over night just out of Khancoban at Indy Bridge great spot. Beware tho pump can go anytime for irrigating.
The walk from Charlotte's Pass to Blue Lake and then onto Kosciusko is not to be taken lightly. There are steep sections and loose rocks.
Very smoky. The facilities at the intersection of the Tooma Rd.and Tumbarumba Ck.are well worth a visit.
The Kosciuszko NP is always a good place to visit. At the moment though it is just wonderful. After a good drop of rain a few weeks ago most of the park is a riot of colour. Just about every bush and shrub is flowering.
The carpet of yellow under the snow gums is a sight to see.
The roof of Australia, awesome views of the mountains and plenty of walks, mtb, ski and other sport facilities. A great vacation place for action people
Premier tourist destination with year round activities from skiing, bush walking, kayaking, mountain biking, caves, water skiing and more.
Had a lovely time for my first time camping. Obviously the environment and the company are important.
Beautiful park. Expensive to enter and no multi day options were given. Like most national parks there is no bins for rubbish so make sure you have rubbish storage. Roads were in very good condition. Alpine way is advertised as unsuitable for caravans and this is accurate. There is a Ford at Tom Groggin camp ground that allows you to cross the Murray River into Victoria's Alpine National Park.
Dec 25th. Great day out. Mozied up the mountain. There was still few patches of ice/snow for photos and a few snow ball fights.
FAMILY NOTE: the path is easy but up hill, mostly on metal grates.
Take hats, sunscreen the tops of knees and backs of legs - actually every inch that might get sun! Lip balm is your friend. Take a jumper/jacket for the top and lunch or few snacks and water.
#6.5km all up hill so take ya time - start early and have fun stopping for photos and a red frog or two to keeps the kids happy.
Please Take a zip lock bag for any rubbish. There is a toilet near the top.
#Look for lizards, grasshoppers, birds and beautiful different alpine flowers.
On way back reward yourself and we'll behaved ones with a drink from highest restaurant in Australia at top of the ski lift.
The options. Within 100kms from Tumut you have blowering dam, long plain, blue water holes, caves, wild horses, and loads of local flaura and fauna. We find our self's taking family and friends up to different locations all the time. Heaps of camping options. And the weather is always perfect in summer it can be 37° in Tumut but only 27° in the mountains. And swimming up there while crisp is just so refreshing in such clean pristine water
Always an amazing time to be had here. If hiking make sure to take sunscreen even if its overcast and in the negatives on the mountain. Be sure to account for the temperature at the top of the mountain as well because the ground temp can be vastly warmer!
The wind swept top of Australia, amazing views, crisp clean air, wildlife in abundance (eyes peeled on the road folks), many historic places to visit. Top spot for the technical fisher.
A wide range of walks, from easy couple of hours to full day or even longer. You can easily get to the top of Mount Kosciuszko from either Thredbo or Charlottes Pass, but Kosciuszko Nat Park is so much more than just getting to the highest point in Australia!
Totally beautiful National Park. I didn’t expect it to be so beautiful. Keep going past the Thredbo ski fields and you get to go through beautiful forest covered in snow. Gum trees in the snow are so beautiful. It’s such a stunning place to ski, sledge at Cascade Trail, go for a dive and be in aw of such a magnificent piece of nature.
Beautiful scenery. Great Australian nature speckled with historic buildings. Lots of windy roads and brumbies all along the trip.
Stunning
Magic here but NP do spoil it by demanding a bit of everything resulting in overpriced just about everything!
