Was very disappointed and disgusted with how the receptionist and manager treated my mother when she went to purchase some birthday candles. As she exited the store the employee at the front of the store asked for a receipt, and my mother stated that she completed her purchase at the self-checkout and did not collect the receipt (since it was a simple matter of purchasing cheap candles). Now, there are any number of ways to resolve this matter, for instance, the employee could've asked the other employee stationed at the staffed self-checkout, or checked their checkout machine, or better still, ask for a bank statement from her phone. Instead, the receptionist suddenly started a verbal attack, stating that "NO RECEIPT EQUATES TO THEFT". My mother attempted to resolve this issue by offering proof, but the staff started shouting in an attempt to publicly humiliate her by branding her as a thief. After my mother left the store following a brief exchange, the receptionist followed my mother and continued to shout behind her. In response, my mum found the manager, to which his trivialising response was that the abusive receptionist was "doing her job". Moreover, the receptionist denied the occurrence of any accusation, insinuating that this complaint was either false or mere delusion. From this incident, it is evident that this Kmart has a dysfunctional workplace culture and management which endorses people who lack any integrity or control.

Very poor customer service here. The staff were not very helpful and seemed not interested on serving me. I asked one staff for an item I was looking for and he just pointed out that “it’s there in the middle section”, I also asked another staff and she just said “ yeah it’s there”, I then asked “ ok where is there? ”, and she just walked away. It’s very sad to see a store like this treat customers this way, and I hope the management can properly train there staff on customer service.

Like all other Kmarts they seem to deem it necessary to change the layout every year just to screw with customers. And I know this is a corporate-level issue but the fact that you can no longer buy videogames makes me sad.

Very poor service, never answers the phone and even if they do they “never have access to computer system to check” whatever my question is.

I drove all the way there to get a gift and it wasn't in stock, even though the website said the item was in stock. One of the staff said the stock is delayed by 48hours and doesn't account for broken items and theft. I'm surprised Kmart hasn't accounted for this when displaying stock online. I don't think I'll shop in store again.

They have everything you don't need but need. Once my kids enter the store its a madhouse for them. Great store and service!

I change my 4 stars to 1 star, 1 star for great customer service from Staff on the floor and helpful cashier. Today I went to this kmart chose 2 different style of tops (rrp $12 clearance $3), each style I brought 2 different sizes to the fitting room. The time is already 2.35pm I still need to go to coles before pick up my son at school. One size is suit me and I need to try a different size for the other top. I return 3 tops (inside out) together with the hangers to the fitting room attendant and I put it nicely on top of the table and said I'll buy this one and sorry I'm in a rush I need to get a different size for the other top then she said (i checked the name tag written Kath (the rest of name tag covered) : you're a rude person. You're paying $3 but has no courtesy to turn the tops and hang it to these hangers. You're not a courteous person. I'm very shocked and offended by her remarks. Before I left I told her that you're wrong I am not rude and I'm very courteous person. So I reported to store manager Rod and I explained what just happened and told him that I'm very upset and offended by the fitting room attendant bad customer service. Isn't it one of fitting room attendant job description is to help customers fixing the clothes that we've tried, and so often we don't have time to put them back properly because need to rush to get another size to try again? (I've tried many more clothes in Myer, Uniqlo, BigW, H&M, etc. None ever complaint and when i tried to put the clothes back properly on hangers the fitting room attendant told me it's ok just leave them to me I'll fix it, so I ended up bought lots of clothes from their stores because I have more time to try more clothes they're selling). I told store manager Rod that for the other top I don't bother going to fitting room again to try, i just bought and if not fit I'll return it which I'm not accustomed because it's very inconvenient. Very upsetting that this is my local kmart and I'll be hesitated to purchase any clothing here again with bad customer service from fitting room attendant. Sigh

Good KMart. Has heaps. Be aware of the Ashfield Mall carpark though. If you stay longer than 2 hours it costs an arm and a leg.

Went to buy a shoe rack the other day, and when I had opened the box and began building, I noticed screws were missing. Its a bit ridiculous that parts are missing from a furniture build. Worker at the self serve was helpful though.

Sadly, I must revise my review of Kmart Ashfield, as the original glowing words I posted are no longer accurate. While the staff are still wonderful and attentive - no criticism there - the changes in product lines have meant many staples are no longer stocked or in poor supply. Specifically, you can no longer buy fabric softener there, and the haberdashery department is abysmal.

My greatest disappointment, however, is that this store has succumbed to the ludicrous practice of locating the checkout at the centre of the store, rather than near the exit. The reasoning behind this defies my understanding, so if whatever moron approved this would like to explain why, I am open to changing my view.

Again, if not for the friendly and professional staff, I would only give this store one star.

Good selection, easy find not massive like Burwood & Great staff! I originally rated this Kmart. However after dealing with Samson not opening the glass cabinet- made me wait in a line -as he would prefer to put stock out as apposed to get the key to cabinet to make a sale of $120. His wk ethic and attitude need a recheck & a revisit to a training session.

I love Ashfield Kmart, lovely staffs and the store is clean and kind of organised but quite recently, Ashfield Kmart has this foul smell around the store. Like something has not being cleaned for a long time. Had to leave as soon as I stepped in.

To expensive and you spent $110.00 and they want you to pay for the bag to put your shopping in. I Cary them on my hands. I would not go again.

Staff is usually lovely and store is neat most of the time. However today we were served by an indian lady that seemed to not care about her job at all! Hope our experience is better next time.
