Kim's Car Radio reviews
10They guys here are amazing! They were happy to install a pre bought stereo into my Audi. Charged accordingly, were efficient, friendly and helpful. The outcome was perfect!
Got my dashcam installed and the hardware kit was confirmed not to work after they installed it, they charged me and when I came back to ask for help, they advised that its not their responsibility. They failed to mention that they charge for installation but if it doesn’t work correctly it’s not their problem

Thanks for your time with the extensive reply.
On the day after installation and payment, I bought it back, the owner advised “I forgot to tell you yesterday but we charge for installation only, everything else is your responsibility”.
On multiple attempts I’ve advised that the connection of cables was maybe incorrect, however, it was dismissed from the beginning, as the owner was adamant that the installation was correct and it was a setting issue. I reached out to the dashcam company themselves, both via phone and email and confirmed that it was an issue with the installations. So, I found that there was no point repeating myself over and over. There was poor customer service, as the owner of the store can not take responsibility or even acknowledge that perhaps there was maybe an installation issue. However, I do appreciate the technician attempting to look over it again, but there was absolutely no solution at all in the end.
Additionally, the technician and the owner never informed me, that if I returned with a new hardwire kit it would be free of charge. But I never needed a new hardwire kit anyway, because it was not faulty.
I gave the company 1 star, not because of "entitlement", but because I had to pay additional fees for another technician to uninstall and reinstall the dashcam, in which all the functions are now working correctly. I never once came back and asked for a refund from the company, so I think there is definitely no entitlement here.
Good quality, good service, good price.
The owner and staff members are friendly and warm hearted. I got reverse camera and LCD screen installed here, now my car looks like a super car, although it's 19 years old.
Would definitely recommend Kim's Radio to all of my friends.
Beware they trick you into buying items you don’t need. Overcharged me $100 for a fascia kit which I already had installed from a previous aftermarket head unit. I was otherwise clueless until I realised my old fascia was exactly the same size as the new one. I also believe they may have tried tricking me into purchasing a reverse camera from them, as my old aftermarket headunit had a reverse camera installed and they said things like it wasn’t compatible with my new head unit. Don’t give your money to these scammers.
Very nice service. Sorted all functions of the stereo including steering controls. Highly recommended.
First initial visit, I was greeted by an asian man and we discussed my amp, sub, and head unit installation. Received my car back with everything installed, drove home and checked it out. Upon closer inspection the subwoofer's coil was burnt and was not sounding good for its branding (kenwood). Returning to Kim's radio the next day to ask if it was second hand or not, he admitted that it was a display model and offered to fully replace it with a "new" one although, during discussion for my audio parts he did not disclose that it was a second hand subwoofer. I allowed him to replace it, with a newer sub that was not burnt, but only issue is that, the box of of the subwoofer was too big and kept sliding in my boot. Worst experience for car audios.
They are the best repairers of Reel to Reel and all hifi. I am from Hobart and drove my machines to Sydney just for this perfect service. I could not recommend anyone better than this family owned business.
Been going to Kim for ~35 years.always helpful, and good service.range goes from original car radios to high end.
Bought a GPS card for Chinese made music system. Cost me 100$ which on ebay costs 20. Problem is its outdated and doesn't work properly. Waited 4 months to correct this review. Make proper search before you buy anything, trust can be your undoing.
