Kimpton Margot Sydney reviews
42We stayed here in January 2024 while visiting from Canada and it was so perfect we added extra days to our stay. The hotel itself is an art-piece; from the immediately welcoming lobby and vibrant spaces to the room and rooftop it is a treat. We've loved the convenient location both for access to the trains and buses we've used to get around Sydney and for easy walking around the CBD and fun surrounding neighbourhoods. Everyone we've interacted with from the front desk, bell-hop, bars and restaurants and housekeeping have been friendly and helpful. I'm glad we chose this as our home away from home while visiting Sydney
I have been here for less than an hour and am already 110% confident that this hotel deserves a 5 stars. Considering it’s in the middle of the bustling Sydney CBD, it is such a relaxing and luxurious escape. These guys understand that the devil’s in the detail because they have gone the extra mile in every regard.couldn’t recommend more!
It’s located inside the city, good location to reach everywhere but the thing is the hotel surrounded by tall buildings. I stayed here 5 days and whenever i go to the roof top pool, there’s no sun only shade. It was windy and chilly under the shade even tho the weather is great. The room was spacious, no views (they have 7 floor and all rooms has no view), no bath tub or shower screen in the toilet, if you shower, the floor is going to be wet.their service was great. And it’s pet friendly hotel, you can see lots of doggos which i like it
We stayed at The Kimpton Margot for our wedding. The room and lobby were beautiful but moreover the customer service in the lead up and on the day were excellent. The rooftop is also fabulous! Thank you again to the wonderful team.
Stayed 2 nights to attend the Mother's Day lunch at Luke's Kitchen in the hotel. Our room was a great size on the top (6th) floor. It overlooked the lightwell, but in such a vertically challenged building, a street view won't show much more. The 1939 building has been well restored. Staff, food, and beverages were top class. An enjoyable stay, and we'll add this hotel to our regular Sydney city roster.
Beautiful hotel and amazing service. Shout out to Ashleigh and the team for making our weekend really special.
Lovely hotel in the city centre of Sydney, authentic art deco building, spacious room, good amenities and great lobby
This place was honestly great. We truly enjoyed the bottomless and especially the our waiter AB. He was 10/10! I cannot recommend his professionalism and fun more. Thanks AB!
Really like this place. We stayed for a week and had very pleasant time there. Location is very convenient- right in the middle of CBD, easy to walk everywhere. Beautiful restaurant, lobby, swimming pool. We had great time in Sydney
Great to have pet friendly accommodation in the CBD but it’s not the best pet friendly hotel in Sydney. Lovely lobby but rules about allowing your pet there are patchy. When we checked in everyone was nice and there were a few dogs in the lobby, but during our stay when we tried to sit in the lobby to wait out some rain we were told dogs were only allowed by the reception desk. The rooms aren’t very comfortable to stay in during the day when avoiding rain. Couldn’t have breakfast at the hotel restaurant as again no pets allowed in that area. Airconditioning in the room is inconsistent - had to adjust thermostat throughout the night. The pool was icy cold (clearly not heated) and dirty, the seating on the rooftop looks abandoned so not an area you’d go to at all. There was an old meal tray in the bathroom under the sink when we checked in (eww). Would recommend the hotel based on location alone however I wouldn’t stay there again with or without a pet. Not comparable in any way to a five star hotel. Maybe four stars primarily because of the lobby, rooms 2 stars or 3 based on the size only. We had a one week stay.
Excellent location and great restaurant by Luke's to compliment such a marvellous hotel. Will surely be back.
I been here twice and each time I liked it and each time it met my expectations. The best place to hang out with kids. Every time I go there it gets better. I have been enjoying this place with my family
I had an excellent breakfast in the Margot lobby restaurant. The coffee is excellent, the eggs Benedict perfectly cooked, and the choice of flavours was exquisite. The quality was absolutely in line with my expectations, the service was excellent without being overbearing, and it was a pleasure to meet the hotel manager, who introduced himself during our meal.
Great place to stay in the heart of Sydney CBD. The room was large, clean and updated. The Art Deco building is gorgeous. There's tons of shopping and restaurants nearby. Luke's Kitchen, the restaurant in the lobby, has a fantastic breakfast. Also enjoyed the wine at the evening social hour. The staff were friendly and efficient.
Excellent Hotel! Loved my stay. However the pool area has been left to deteriorate with most of it closed and the pool is freezing cold. Very much a shame and let the establishment down. I recommend installing a roof top restaurant, re-opening the bar for hotel guests to use and replace the outdoor furniture
Had a great stay at this hotel for 3 nights on a holiday from a holiday. It was exactly what we were after.
One thing that I'd advise people to be careful of is the food in the rooms is not complimentary - it is like the mini bar. For what we paid for the room I'd expected at least some complimentary biscuits but instead got stupidly overpriced chocolates. My main issue with this is that the priced items are mixed in with the free items (coffee/tea etc) so you need to cross reference against the list on the tablet to check what is free and what isn't. Definitely feels like they're trying to trick you out. The list should be printed and placed next to food rather than hidden away on a tablet in an area of the platform that I didn't feel was very easy to find.
Another minor thing is that the rooftop terrace doesn't always get sun due to the other sky scrapers and yoh have to pay a $5 surcharge to order drinks at the pool. We just simply went to the bar on the ground floor in our swimmers to avoid this. You're also not allowed cocktails up at the roof bar (seemed odd) but beer was OK.
Excluding these minor grievances the stay was perfect and I'd return again in the future.
Great hotel with awesome friendly and attentive staff, luxurious and spacious rooms, nice and relaxing pool area and overall great 20s vibe and style!
Highly recommended!
Nice room very good bathroom. Terrible breakfast and very noisy. Staff were efficient behind front desk and was as being polite but its very loud.
We stayed for 3 nights here at kimpton Margot, and really enjoyed it. The service is excellent and the location is great right in cbd nearish darling harbour and walkable to QVB building
Rooms were also very good size and well fitted, also looks fairly new overall
Would recommend
I was looking for somewhere to stay for the night while my hubby was staying at the hospital with our daughter. It had been a long week and I really needed a night to unwind and rest.
The Kimpton Margot Sydney ticked all of the boxes for me from the convenience of room
service to the comfortable beds to the additional touches like premium toiletries and slippers.
If you’re looking for the ultimate night or nights away, this is it!
